Why does this feel nostalgic even though I havent lived in the 1980’s
This is lore accurate lol this was my every other weekend when dad got visitation we went to grandmas house and she was either on the TV or party line phone gossip. She lived in the country to so it was a quiet and rural nothing outside but nature really. They still have gravel roads in those areas so you might here the slow gravel road creep of family coming over.
While I'm a 90s baby, this is still very nostalgic and comforting to me as I had parents who had me much later in life. As such, I watched a lot of older movies and shows growing up and often could hear the tv from my bedroom at night. Reminds me of holidays at my grandparents too.
Both my grandparents and my parents are deceased now, so this is wonderful, thanks

I love this soundscape however its mildly inaccurate because the commercials aren't 10x louder than the normal tv

I feel like commercials in the 1980s weren't as loud as they are now, but also all the sound was coming out of a tiny mono speaker on your 19" Sony so it hit different.

My grandmother raised me my entire life, so I love the idea of this ambience scene. Very nostalgic to me.
This is great. Had a bad panic attack and use this to calm myself down. But couldn’t get to sleep got too invested in the movie lol.

My favorite child hood memory is taking naps in my grandparents guest room while my grandfather watched Nascar in the living room next to the guest room. I could easily fall asleep to the muffled sounds of car talk and cable commercials
the arched doorways were so memorable at my grandma's house, that and the puffy white duvet we used to snuggle under while watching bambi on vhs.

I have a suggestion: 2000’s Macy’s thanksgiving day parade on the tv playing in another room ..
it may not help people sleep though.. but it might .. I’m actually looking for something to help me wake up in the mornings and that would be perfect.. to make it seem like I’m not the only one awake in the morning I guess is my goal so I have more motivation to get up..
I actually am currently working on a New Year's Day Rose Parade one because I have a few tapes from different years. I think the latest era I have is mid-90s (which is the one I'm doing), but it should be the same idea!

Have mercy, if this does not look like my grahms sitting room area, where the kids were never allowed to sit 😄🤣 That sofa and the colors are so reminiscent. Looks like how I spent every Saturday and Sunday while my parents worked and left me with my grahms ❤❤

Thank you for watching! I edit in Final Cut Pro X and use a combo of their stock audio filters to muffle it down to where I want it.
