When I first listened to this I ended up in tears. That ending with that riff is something special. Has an in rainbows vibe that makes it even more nostalgic. Simply beautiful and moving tune.
I thought of Weird Fishes right away when the song started and knew this was going to be one of my favorite new tracks...really great album, she never disappoints
A perfect song. The most complex thing is to make it sound so simple, a highly moving elegant finesse with a reflection of time and its heavy wisdom that puts everything in its right place. The super value of being loved or loving with all the mental risks that this implies. 🌹
I am so incredibly sad that she hasn't played this live or that there is no footage of her performing it. I went to Hollywood Bowl to see her and I wanted this one the most
Here’s the guitar chords if anyone’s interested... Intro/Verse 1 G#, Eb7, F#, F, E, Eb7, Bbm7, Eb7 Verse 2 G#, Eb7, F#, F, E, Eb7, Bbm7, Eb7, C The rest is the same and fades with intro. Annie, if I’m off on any of the chords let me know. Love this song to death...
Beautiful piece, with a simple but articulated and complex appearance like few others. A sublime voice that performs stunts as unexpected as they are wonderful. DH is full of beautiful songs is a really well done work. It should be listened to more instead of reading articles. 🤗👍❤️
Love the guitars, the changing percussion, kind of surprising the movemen in this song, despite the chord progression sounding familiar, there's a twist... I love this one :))
This is one of my favorite songs of the album. Gives me Radiohead vibes. Pitchfork gave the album a bad rating. A few other critics did too. I wonder how St Vincent feels considering she has always gotten universal acclaim on all of her albums.
Most have given the album really positive reviews. She has an 86 on Metacritic right now, indicating Universal Acclaim, only 3 points below her highest score.
displease with icicles as a lyrical devicein principle given its pyschokinetic oyster crad opposition to the dryer the cleaner the killers going underground
Does anyone else hear the chorus from Florence and the Machine’s “Breaking Down” in the songs little guitar riff towards the end of the song???? Or is that just me?
i’m so obsessed omg this whole album is a masterpiece
RIGHT??? Holy sh!t! It’s an absolute masterpiece. I haven’t heard anything this good in YEARS.

This song breaks my every time I hear it since it released, the ending makes me happy cry.

Best song on the record.
@@GameplayGuy00 Love the comparison of jumping off a building to marriage. Or love / or whatever she is talking about . love her.
Yes that last guitar part is hart melting.
I feel like this song is hugging me.

I was so happy she included the song in the All Born Screaming tour!
This song makes me feel like I'm floating on a cloud watching the sunset
i love the meaning behind this song, it's such a unique way of thinking about love and relationships in general
Really loved this song. Gives me some Actor vibes.
She might rework some Actor songs to this sound palette for the live performances.. I definitely heard her or read that she is working on this.
@@banban6087 I vote for The Neighbours! the theme is fitting
Almost a nostalgic return to Annie's roots, a beautiful song for sure.
This is my new “make myself feel sad on purpose” song
This is my favorite so far. It feels so nice in my ears 🤤
It's almost impossible to choose a favourite song from this album. Have to say, it's perfect.
this girl has feeling , her sound is so universal .
The sound of a new song weaving its way into my life :)
New songs make new memories.

Intro/Verse 1
G#, Eb7, F#, F, E, Eb7, Bbm7, Eb7
Verse 2
G#, Eb7, F#, F, E, Eb7, Bbm7, Eb7, C
The rest is the same and fades with intro. Annie, if I’m off on any of the chords let me know. Love this song to death...
This song always feels like a warm hug
Best song ever maybe
One of the best songs of 2021 definitely
This might sound strange, but the chord progression & guitar part remind me of "New York's not my home" by Jim Croce.
I'm really digging this album.
Vocals sounding superb Ms. Clark 😉 the whole vibe is like lying in a meadow in the summer, stoned 🤪
You are so goddamn right omg...
new favorite song until the end of time
this is my favourite song from the album
This song is a masterpiece im in tears
My god, what a way to end a song! That was beautiful. Thank you Annie.
Best thing I've heard in a few years.
The attention to detail is great in this one. The subtle tone changes are great and background noise
what a gorgeous record.... but this one and The Laughing Man are my absolute favorites. they really hit me differently.
The Laughing Man is stunning. That track and this one gives me major Actor meets Marry Me vibes.
@@Missjunebugfreak yes, i'll have to agree!!
same
Wonderful surprise, as if Nick Drake wrote for Nico.
the lyrics on this one really gives you goosebumps
this reminds me of her older music in a good way
It breaks my heart and at the same time fall in love all over again...
I feel deeply connected to this song. Thank you, Annie. 💕
A perfect wedding song ❤
😂
masterpiece
This takes me back to Teenage Talk, her single from 2015
The outro here is the most powerful minute and a half Annie has ever gotten.
The opening guitar sounds like something off in rainbows
totally, in tandem with the percussion I get a Weird Fishes vibe
Elliot Smith moreso for me; Memory Lane to be specific
Beautiful song...I hope she plays it live sometime.
This angels voice makes me cry tonight
The guitar at the end gets me. I agree with you .
this is my favourite, after listening to them all
Driving in my car on a beautiful sunny day and have this song on repeat.
my favorite from the new album !

Easily my favourite from the album!
this is so gorgeous i love this album so much oh my god
Love the guitars, the changing percussion, kind of surprising the movemen in this song, despite the chord progression sounding familiar, there's a twist... I love this one :))
i could play it on loop for 1 hour and not complain
best song to sooth hearts ever made.
Beautiful the pedal steel guitar in this song!
I am in love with this song. It has such a great vibe
Its like some gracious hyper intelligent space being took pieces of Thom Yorke, Annie Lennox and Hendrix this beautiful specimen was the result!
I like it too.
Super chill vibes
Beautiful song, transported me to her first record, Marry Me.
Very reminiscent of Marry Me in a lovely way.
love this song Annie...thank you!
The most beautiful song I've heard this year.
BEST SONG OFF THE ALBUM!!!
this one got me yesterday after thanksgiving dinner…the whole record grew on me in the past two years
I WANT TO BELIEVE!
This is one of my favorite songs of the album. Gives me Radiohead vibes.

@@robertroberts418 go check out the Slate review. It was cringe. They HATE the album.
Pitchfork gave the album a 6.7 - obviously not as high a score as it deserves, but it's still above average.
it's the second favorite song of Scaruffi in 2021
Pitchfork is stupid then...
thee melting of the sun is the dream tune in the collection but rest assured, somebody like me will go the distance and change
displease with icicles as a lyrical devicein principle given its pyschokinetic oyster crad opposition to the dryer the cleaner the killers going underground
the adorable. squeezings through
in form alita lol ita except innexcapably
Enjoying the backing vocals in the album so far.
Love this one annie

Great song i love it
Such a beautiful climactic ending to this one!
This is really beautiful, St., Somebody Like Me is your more lovely song.

I ask myself the same question over and over
I guess I’ll sing this one day when I learn it

I fell in love with you before you said anything and long before I heard you sing.

música que transcende a alma, maravilhosa! influências muitas e das boas
yeeeeee
Glad I found this
Fab tune. Awesome video. Best not to watch just before driving though. I'll sink in properly when I get home.
Guitar in the beginning is:
Eddie Vedder - Gauranteed
❤
🖤🇧🇷
Does anyone else hear the chorus from Florence and the Machine’s “Breaking Down” in the songs little guitar riff towards the end of the song???? Or is that just me?
They do sound similar! Love Florence.
this song reminds me to Dreamboat Annie by Heart, both lovely songs
wow, i'm here early! I
This one has the cool vibe and maybe some of the ideas of Optimist on Love This Giant. I'm pretty sure that was one of her songs.
this chord progression dude
YESSAHHHH..🎶💕🎶(☺)
I can hear many of your influences here.
it has to be a song from the 60s
I’m really glad Annie Clark exists
I used to love Stevie Nicks, then I heard this.
I'm getting some white paint
