- In Sydney, Australia, doctors have been seeing patients with a disease called scurvy. Scurvy is a disease caused by a lack of vitamin C, which you find in fruit like oranges and lemons. Sailors on long trips used to get it but you don't really hear about it these days. The doctors say it's due to poor diet - people not eating any fruit.

can you please explain to me what "goodbye for .." at the end of the video means? ("goodbye for a couple of limey")
Same here, it is probably " goodbye from a couple of limeys"
nice
hello, Both of you have very nice voice, I love it very much & love you too!
Hello to both of you.....The more I learn English, the more the amount of similar words the French share with the English , blows my mind. Today, resurgence and archaïc. Sometimes, a word miss me to make a sentence, then, I try, by chance, to inser the equivalent French word and it works almost every time 🙂 I think the "chance" has nothing to do with this phenomenon ( another common word ) . When I started to learning English, I was thinking I would travel in a foreigner country. I was really wrong .
Come back-> return
Resurgence is same with come back but it is more formal
Archaic is how old something
It's really a right platform to improve english.
I don't get what them discussed so further study required
it is really nice 🙂
Well, I think poor dietary habits could casue many potential health problems, not only resurgence of any historical diease
Napoleon was on the verge of getting scurvy when he went to Egypt.
English is full of archaic words.
(please correct something is wrong )
Hi
Do not want to beat around the words, just tnx.
What's the scurvy?
Neil voice more clear than cathrine. Cathrin request to speak bit slow plz
Can we use the word " recap " in writing instead of recapitulate??
they are in the same meaning but I think you should use "recapitulate"
Tiên Giang Lý thank you
It depends on if you are writing a informal letter it is ok
A diet as a balance.
i love all limees, lol i'm not even sure whether i wrote it right or not, "limee'"
It should be limy
❤️❤️❤️❤️
if you don't use these words everyday, you will forget it soon.
Why you have not subtitles?
Hi Elidee Arias. Unfortunately, we don't provide a transcript or subtitles for this video because this is a natural, unscripted programme. For more details and an exercise, visit our website: www.bbc.co.uk/learningenglish/english/course/english-you-need/unit-9/session-2
Archaic
Good bye for a cup of what?limy? What did you say?
I'm from Pakistan and I love the teaching style of BBC and particularly the way of Catherine is appealing. I appreciate her pronunciation episodes series and especially her voice when she uttered through her throut.
I wanna know her e-mail address or fb or anyother like WhatsApp.
In Iraq, in an old song belong to 1920s 1930s it is referred to British as a lime!
