His ability to just stick with his guy on defense is really impressive and the presence he was asserting in this game was impactful. Honestly it reminded me of what the Raptors usually do to us when they start picking us up at full court and ramp up the intensity. When Pat plays press defense like this it opens up a lot of opportunities for our other good defenders (Caruso, Coby, Bev) to take advantage of tough passes. Another thing that he didn't do last night, but he has done effectively as of late, is trapping the ball handler late in the shot clock. It seems like with each passing week he is taking more opportunities to leave his man and trap at opportune times which has lead to a lot of blocks and shot clock violations. Reminds me a lot of what Lonzo would do every game for us last year
"...when he decides" is the hurdle Williams needs to overcome. He has all of the physical gifts and skills to be an absolute superstar. It does take time, though, and we need to be patient.
I agree, but i feel hes been turning a corner the past month or 2 , bringing more consistant energy and effort , the offense is hit or miss but thats going to happen when you have 3 all star score only players in front of you to feed first...
That's right, that's why PAW is my favorite NBA star, and I appreciate the energy that PAW has on defense. Hope to see more of your videos in the future~
Great video! I missed the game. The traditional highlights don't include defensive efforts unless it's a block. We need more videos like this where we just get defensive footage on guys. It will show us who the real all-team defense members are and not just a bunch of guys that play passing lanes for steals and play no defense beyond that.
When Williams is playing well he almost reminds me of Scottie Pippen. The skill is there, he just really needs to become more consistent on the offensive end. I hope the Bulls dont trade him away before he really breaks out.
Ya def do not trade him, we just need a real pg and another Pf that can block shots and i think were basically there, and Pat and Coby keep improving, maybe Dalen Terry plays more next season he could be a solid defensive player as well
@@philcapenmsgamingsportsI feel like we should try replicating the 2011 Bulls. Trade Vuc for a rim protector, Demar for a solid PF plus some other assets (shooters), Keep Bev and Caruso and Ayo, move Pat to the 3 (Luol Deng type of role)
Ya this was all just 2nd half highlights when Patrick entered the game, but ya ive gotten alot of good feedback to do more of these type of videos , Cobys my man too, im a Unc fan for college as well Coby played really well and has been all season
pat is a great defender but he needs to do much better job in navigating through screens cuz most of the time he easily switches even though the screen isn't that hard or go under(brush screens),he puts his teammates on tough position. if pat adds more weight i think he can play small ball center since he has the ability to block shots because of his long wingspan.
I'm glad the Kawhi comparisons have stopped because I think it did him a disservice by putting too much pressure on his role. That said, he is showing that he can be an Andrew Wiggins-type player, and I think that's great. If he can get to 16-18 PPG with this defensive intensity, he's worth the 4th pick in what was a fairly weak draft IMHO.
Ya that class hasnt turned out that great , Ant Man very good, Lamelo injured alot but good, Wiseman not great so far, and after P will , Id only Put Haliburton and Bane above him? And only Haliburton was realistic at #4 , hes actually who i mocked to the Bulls .....
@@philcapenmsgamingsports Right, I agree. I would add Jaden McDaniels above Pat as well because he's developed faster and has more of an edge, but you could argue either way since they're so similar. We could have overthought it and gone with Deni, Toppin, or Okoro like we were mocked to take. My hottest take as a Bulls fan is that Pat Will should be the only untouchable on this roster.
@@trinbaker That's fine, I get it. Jaden's stats are marginally better and advanced stats highly favor him, which is why I would have him over Pat. Both guys have had fluky injuries (although Jaden's was self-inflicted) but I don't consider them injury prone, they're just very similar players. Like, eerily similar by the statline, and they're both imposing guys who can guard 1-4 at a high level. So yeah, you can go either way.
@@ben_jammin9470 I just think pat has the higher ceiling, I think pat could be a border line allstar and averaging 17-19ppg while McDaniels ceiling is one of the best 3 and D in the game
Who do you think sparked the run for Chicago?
Demar’s daughter… the mvp 😮💨😮💨😮💨
Caurso and Williams sparked the bulls come back

1:10 AC gave pat the "good shit boi" pat on the head
i think he's finding his role, he's shown flashes of very good offensive skills too.
He's going to be real good once the bulls trade him, like it always happens with this team..
Thats Elite defense. And didnt commit a single foul
Wow i didnt realize that as well very nice!
Patrick Williams had been a x factory. This season because injury free 4 the first time 👋 🏀

Nice to see another P-Will Fan, and hopefully ill get to make some from tonights game as well, Go Bulls!
His ass is not a star 😂😂😂
With Williams Caruso and Beverly on the floor, there are times the Bulls can lock an offense down
Yes i think its evident how much Beverely has helped Defensively , and how much Lonzo would help us if healthy...
all P Will needs is consistency if he can play great and step up his game we might have another Pippen-like style defensively and 3pt shooting
His gesture is very "Kawhi" alike.
I was thinking the same thing, his mannerisms and also his game

More of this bro. Pat was out there in the first half too.
Coby was carrying, would love a few clips. Bring these young guys back fr

thats just what hes taught to do within the bulls defense, they switch everything...
If we just could bring back Jimmy so he can put som bad asse in him. Patric would be an AllStar
