Yes. This is something that MOST people go through in life. As we mature and age, we feel less connection to outside things to define us. This is is one of the great things about aging. Wait until you turn 30- oh, it just keeps getting better. I am 36 and the happiest I have ever been. You will continue to grow, change, evolve. Giving yourself permission to try new things without making them your entire identity comes with maturity. Good for your for stepping into that space! Good luck on your journey.

In Astrology there is an understanding that we are all looking at the world through differently coloured lenses. Therefore in one way or another we are all true and all wrong at the same time. The only way to get to the bottom of things is through an open-minded, compassionate exchange.
Another point that you mention has to do with a personal evolution. We grow, we change. The truth of yesterday, doesn't become a lie today. No. It was the truth then and there and now something else is. I was sad seeing so many people attacking you left and right for following a different path. In our society there seems to be only two acceptable ways: stay fixed in one place and then you are being true and honest or be quiet about your ideas in case you are prone to changing them.
What you show, Alice, is a process. It's a flow. There is no goal, only a journey.
I salute to your bravery for doing so! It's not easy to be an open book where everyone that you know and you have never seen in your life, can peek in, to read your thoughts and emotions; to see your highs and lows, to witness your changes.
Your super power is combining courage with immense vulnerability, transforming and becoming clear sighted along the way .. humbly and lovingly so. That is what I see through my Pisces coloured lens anyway 🙂
    Please continue!

This is fantastic! This is what "doing the work" is all about. As in work, working on ourselves/our mind; always learning, meditating & always growing. From my viewpoint, this is a huge revelation and turning point! We are people and we change and have freewill to do it again and again.
I love learning about different ways of living and people's different cultures; that is what first made me start watching you years ago. I never shared the same "extreme" thoughts as you (ones you used to have) but I found it interesting. I never felt like I was required to have those thoughts/beliefs to enjoy your content.
It's okay to have a passion about something for a season of life and be excited about it. You don't have to be defined by a theme for your channel if you become excited about something different, you are different.
All in all, keep it up! Love it! Love your journey. Just be you.

Doing mindfulness helped a lot as well especially during hard times.
Then I began slowly getting into journaling which was hard at first but it truly helped lift some mental and emotional heaviness.
Taking a lot of accountability and learning boundaries was next. Most importantly getting to know myself. That helped me began to get in touch with important aspects of myself and life.

OMG thank you deeply for sharing this. As I was watching I found my mouth dropping because you were able to put into words what I have been experiencing but didn't quite know what it was because I just haven't felt identified with my old identity or essence and even life views. Almost a bit like I woke up and everything looked and felt completely different. Which has been scary. In the spiritual world I guess it would be viewed as a metaphorical death. But also in a liminal space of not quite sure where I am headed as a person- human etc yet my past feeling surreal and not me either. Anyways thank you so much for this. It was deeply refreshing and actually healing to hear another person put to words this experience. And I have always been an extremist myself which helped to keep me locked into beliefs - and identity etc. And its like it all got blown out and then I was like um who am I and where am I lol. I imagine similar to what some people might experience doing mushrooms. Anyways this is so long winded. Just thank you and yes please do continue to share your journey through this. I listened to your video and it makes a lot of sense, I had been following you during your raw vegan times and your videos back then were such an inspiration to me you won't even believe, they were bringing me joy and motivation and I felt so passionate and inspired to follow a similar life path to yours.
It was interesting to see the way you and your life have changed over the years and I think it makes a lot of sense that you would then adopt this mindset that everyone has their own truth and that they can all co-exist.. after following certain belief systems for years and then having to change them, people who were following you because of your beliefs were really upset, mad, and I remember all the hate towards you and the drama that was going on on the Internet after you stopped being vegan. You didn't deserve all of that. No one deserves it, but people can be cruel. And this is what happens when people adopt certain belief systems and think that they're the only right way, a one size fits all.
However, I disagree with you. I believe there is definitely objective truth in life, or universal laws, but they shouldn't be confused with institutionalised beliefs that are man made or belief systems that are also man made. Because those can always be wrong.
The reason you had to change your belief systems in the beginning (raw vegan, extreme minimalism etc) is because you weren't feeling so good, right? You started having symptoms so you wanted to change something. And that makes sense. Unfortunately conventional or alternative medicine doesn't have answers for people's suffering.. they might offer good advice sometimes but they don't know the reasons why people are sick, the true causes.
I found answers for all of these things with Medical Medium. His information is unlike anything else that's out there and it's not one size fits all. He offers REAL answers for symptoms and conditions that all make logical sense and he also offers real ways of healing, practical tools that you can use to heal physically, mentally and emotionally. His information comes from a different place. He never says that it's all in your mind or that you created or attracted your suffering with your own thoughts. That's a really unhealthy belief and it puts the blame on you because they don't know the real reasons. The truth is that it's never your fault for what you're going through and there are real external reasons why you can get sick and he explains everything in detail for so many symptoms and conditions. There are already millions of people that have healed or are healing using his information and that's the living proof that it works. I'm one of those people too.
I just hope that you also find the truth Alyse. I'm really glad you feel like you're in a better place now and I hope that you'll be healthy. I think you're a wonderful human being with a beautiful soul and everything that you went through helped you grow and evolve like nothing else could have. I hope you remember that it wasn't for nothing, that none of it was your fault and that you deserve to heal and be happy, healthy and fulfill your purpose and potential. I wish you all the best💖🤗

I see what you're saying and have his revised main book (it's massive now and I've just begun to read it) but looking at personal reasons for health issues is not about self-blame. I don't like people saying xy or z is not their fault. That's ridiculous. There are definitely things people do that create poor health for themselves. It's not about "fault" but rather, cause and effect. Disordered eating can lead to being attracted to raw veganism. I began to suspect this when I started following a bunch of raw vegans. Their back stories usually involved some sort of unhealthy relationship with food. It's easier to mask with raw veganism because the food itself is healthy. Excessive attention to the body is definitely a red flag. There are psychological issues that affect food choice and the body itself. Our emotional state can affect the body. It doesn't have to be either/or.

i relate a lot to this! i used to be a very passionate vegan, political activist, etc. and i shared a lot on social media. then i realized some of my stances weren't as nuanced as i thought they were, and i deleted social media, calmed down a lot, was less passionate and vocal about things, and became a lot more introspective. i now try to find the balance between being a critical thinker and having the courage to say things knowing i might make mistakes because life becomes very dull if you don't try to engage. that said, i try to do that in person rather than on social media because i find it more fulfilling

I’ve been observing politics lately. No real connection to anything but certainly a preference. Once I decided I wasn’t having children. Everything felt less detrimental. Less big. My choices, the state of the world, my timeline. Like rather than watching my children experience the world that may not turn out so great, or watch them struggle or suffer. It’s easier to just watch the story play out. See what happens like a good book or movie. “What will the humans do next aye?”

the amount of evangelizing in your comments is…something. I won’t lie, I did feel frustrated when you left veganism for carnivorism because veganism isn’t meant to be about diet but about the life of animals. So it felt like “oh..so she didn’t do it for them? that kinda sucks :/“ BUT at the same time, it can genuinely be really hard for some bodies to thrive being vegan, even moreso because most of us live in places where the soil is depleted of nutrients, everything is sprayed with chemicals, the water isn’t particularly healthy, nor is the air etc etc. It’s hard to truly find balance and it’s hard to truly feel healthy with almost any diet. there’s so much conflicting information on what nutrients are most important, what kinds of foods are “bad” or “good” and I think change is very human. You’ve changed in many ways and ebbed and flowed, and I don’t think you need anyone else’s approval to just “be”.

she was alway plant based during that time. Plant based is the 'diet', Veganism is the 'lifestyle' which she clearly couldn't do for long. Lot's of 'vegans' on social media aren't about the lifestyle but still say vegan

    • @madeline141
      @madeline141 Рік тому +3

I think if people actually realized the real amount of loss of animal life in order to have and maintain vegan farms many wouldn’t be vegan anymore. I don’t say this to be rude but if your only reason to be vegan is “for the animals” then I highly encourage you to reconsider.
Many vegans do not realize that veganism disrupts the truly natural way of life on earth and is not sustainable. It causes more animal deaths than eating sustainable sources of meat would.
Imagine for a second everyone was vegan in order to “save the animals”… what would happen is the need for even larger scale farming productions in which soil would be tilled and destroyed which kills insects and animals residing within the soil. Not to mention then the use of pesticides to kill insects which also disrupts the food source of animals which eat those insects, and those animals which eat insects are sources of food for other animals and so on. Plus the fact that farms kill and eradicate any pests or predators such as mice, moles, voles, etc.
I think veganism is another jaded first world country mindset. In America, people don’t know how to farm or what it takes to have a farm.or how farming actually effects the environment. In most other countries it is very common for people to have small scale farms or even their own personal farms to sustain just their family. This is the most sustainable approach which respects the earth, animals, and our bodies.

Veganism does result in loss of life. Growing plants involves insecticides. Insects are killed during harvest and processing of plants. Land used growing plants isn't available as animal habitat. Everything involves loss of life. Oh, well.

It sounds like your growth isn't just 'linear', like 'getting better at skill x', but sort of multi-dimensional, some deep foundational changes, paradigm shifting. You seem to have a sense of where things are going, which is possibly a good thing... in the sense of being confident about your path, and being able to engage fully in the place you find yourself in life in 'this moment'. I think I've been following you for a few years now... maybe since before covid? I'm not sure exactly. You were still vegan when I started following you, and to be honest, that was one of the reasons I was following you... it feels like it can be hard to do vegetarianism and veganism 'right' in a way where people stay healthy... so I was kind of hoping being exposed to people who were experienced vegans would help me slowly learn to eat and live better while still living ethically... sorry maybe going back to talking about the vegan stuff might be uncomfortable for you... I really found a lot of your workshops on how to organize once life to sort of live working towards our goals more... would be helpful for me, so following up on those workshops you did that you shared at one point was something I want to do. I think some of your journey... echoes in my own life as well... there was a book I read, called the twelfth insight, by James Redfield, part of the Celestine Prophecy series... it talked about the world becoming more spiritual... more directly connected to spiritual reality... and also that world religions might change... that groups of people from different religions would come together, and see what truths their religions helped highlight, and also maybe some areas where they weren't as strong, and a culture of a sort of truth that goes beyond just one religion's teachings would sort of arise in society... it makes me think of books like 'the tao of physics' by fritjof capra, where a tagline of the book is sort of... science is beginning to get to the point of being able to prove the 'science' behind spiritual truths and ideas from different old religions... gregg braden is pretty good for bridging science and spiritual teachings as well I find... this is a longer comment than I had intended... I'm not sure if youtube will let me post it all... Thank you for sharing, Alyse.

I found you from Dr. Shawn Baker's video regarding you carnivore challenge (I follow an animal-based diet). This is unsolicited advice, but separate functional choices from ideological choices. Perhaps you're even treading on theological choices (though not in the traditional sense). There are "right" and "wrong" ways to do things, but you'll never know which is which until you have fully established your preferences, goals, and which cultural standards you decide to adhere to. It's really about metrics and asking yourself, "compared to what?". Anyway, from a random internet person, have a great day.

Yes, there are different perspectives, not always possible to draw a line between right or wrong and finding aspects of both in the other..
For example certain condemning vegan UA-camrs - one the one hand great to support animals but on the other side the hatred some share against everyone not doing it properly as if it was a cult..
But although many aspects are both wrong or right or some difficult to define, wrong or right still exists. You can guess my moral beliefs/ values based on what I write for example..
another aspect.. I just feel like although I appreciate your openness I think we should keep being critical and stand up for things of importance. I'm happy to see that you're doing well but I think with all the openness we should not neglect that sometimes we need to find our standpoint, be clear and sometimes NOT tolerate certain things - for example, I don't tolerate any racist, homophobic, etc beliefs.. I know I'm very critical with your shared ideas Alyse.. and I'm sure you did not think about these things when commenting on being open and accepting different perspectives. But I just wanted to let you know because apart from all the openness I miss in our judgemental cultures, sometimes we need to take a stand.
    All the best 💓
