      True
      And the referring was poor, anyway.
      Both teams didn’t deserve such a performance from Ben O’K.
      It’s not any scandal to underline such a poor performance.
      It doesn’t undermine any of both teams performance.
      With such a small difference (not only the score, but the strength of both teams), it’s a fact that referee’s performance choose the winner.
      Anyway, two different styles, only one winner…

      I'm not sure which team you're supporting, but you must know how ridiculous you sound with that? The teams that won this weekend only won because they wanted it more. That's the difference at that level. You will never understand how much it means to New Zealand and South Africa. They aren't just doing their jobs or playing a sport. For them, they're going to battle for their families and their countries. They have deep dark depths that they go to in world cup knockouts. Without that you will never win. Not while these boys are there.

    • @axelsempe7593
      @axelsempe7593 Рік тому +2

      I don’t think it is about wanting it more at that level. I don’t think there is any denying that the South African heavily lobbied world rugby and consistently spread rumours telling France was being favoured… I think it did play a part in their victory. No one is saying that they didn’t play amazing rugby. It is true tho, that on many decision which were 50/50, they got the ref’s support. Du toit’s head contact on Danty wasn’t even shown, Kolby’s rush towards Ramos neither (and videos have surfaced showing that the ref should have taken a second look) and there is a significant number of other instances. On the other hand, I haven’t heard a signe person talking of France being favoured a single time… in such a close game there is no denying that such calls can make a difference.
      It’s true that we shouldn’t criticise the ref, but sometimes what else can you do? If you genuinely think that something is not fair… I know this sounds like France is being a bad looser but I think it’s better to hear us out and then eventually disregard it than just calling it fake news…
      Refs are people and they can be influenced. They are not gods, not even in rugby.

    • @axelsempe7593
      @axelsempe7593 Рік тому +4

      Also, you have no idea how much rugby means to French fans. Some of us breath and live rugby. For having lived in New Zealand and in the UK I can tell you that rugby is much more deeply rooted in some parts of France. That might sound crazy for Anglo-Saxons but just listen to the French crowds. Rugby is not just a sport in France is a whole culture. Why do you think we have the greatest clubs in the world, why do you think we got to the final of the World Cup so many times. In Anglo-Saxon countries rugby is a private school boyish thing that creates bruts and bullies, in France it’s a respectful friendly atmosphere which is literally passed down from generation to generation. We literally call rugby l’école de la vie, which means the school of life.

If you know nothing about 1995/2011 and then now 2023 then better pack up somewhere else instead of talking about rugby here sir if you don't even know anything of that. And about battle for their families ? We battle the same but us we're only 15 on the field, no 16 like you, the difference is there. How can you compete with this ? You're the most ridiculous here if you think Boks deserved this win tonight. Prepare the red carpet at Pretoria's airport for your best player O'Keeffe then, this man need to lift the trophy so much. I do agree with antoine, if nobody says it in the end nothing changes, the ref was bad on this game. Yellow should be red, elbows in the face…
      It’s not only this game, fidji-wales was bad, NZ-Ireland was bad.
      It’s always the same ref always the same complaints in every match, every time players and staff has to hide it. It was to obvious this time.

    • @MCDesign199
      @MCDesign199 Рік тому +3

      @lepepito And yet the South African players also feel like O'Keefe was against us, cos he made some awful calls against us, like when we had possession and he was in the way of a pass, causing us to lose the ball, he didn't even call that for a reset, which you *have* to do when a referee interferes.
      And when one of the French players was in the way of Faf's passes when we were on France's try-line.
      And no, that was not a red, you try always tackling low when you're over 2m tall, Etzebeth has been playing for over a decade now and is literally known for how clean he plays, his head barely touched the guy and it was clearly accidental.
      You'll also notice that Etzebeth walked up to the player he tackled and apologized.
      The ref didn't win France the game, the better team on the day won. South Africa scored a try within 30 seconds of claiming possession in the first half, 3 times.
      When we had the ball, we took better opportunities.
      France's erratic playstyle had us rattled in the start but eventually our defense and structure won out.

    • @lepepito
      @lepepito Рік тому +1

      @@MCDesign199 Due to awful decisions France missed 16 points, first minutes a try opportunity where a SA player shoves the ball it can be argued to be a penalty try, but why does SA have the ball in the result of a SA player pushing the ball out of the field ? Why was it not a scrum at 5 meters like the rule says ?
      Second try Etzebeth intentionally knocked the ball in a 4v2 situation at 10 meters. Why was it not reviewed ? Why no knock on ? He is on the line when he touch the ball and the next player creates a ruck 2 meters after the line.
      The TMO was absent, I’m not targeting O’Keefe only.
      When it’s a 1 point game where we get refused 16 points what do you expect us to say ?
      What about the punch in Antoine face ? What about the 2 elbows in the face as well ? Why the yellow card when it was ruled as a red for less in previous games ?
      If you believe that France did the same, go and show me the footage. If not, you can’t say you were refereed the same.
      And even if we did the same, this just proves that the referees were way below what we expect from a QUARTERFINAL OF THE WORLD CUP. I’m beyond angered at these referees.
      Both teams played the game of their life and I’m not arguing that. 6 tries in less than 30 minutes with the intensity there was is incredible.
      What bothers me is that we lose by 1 point when there was this many errors in referee calls.
      SA wasn’t better in this game both teams were at 100% and it was as close at it can be.
      And no Etzebeth did not barely touch him, if so why would he bleed from his nose ??? Why would Atonio 1m85 147kg be knocked out after the shock ???????

    • @MCDesign199
      @MCDesign199 Рік тому +2

      @@lepepito because Euro players milk injuries, my boi. Our guys bleed profusely and keep going cos Euro players like to influence the ref by over-acting injuries, I'm actually impressed, we were all expecting you guys to be worse. Scotland was actually far worse surprisingly.
      And yes, Etzebeth was bleeding cos his nose hit the big Frenchman's shoulder at Mach 3.
      Bro, moaning about bad decisions that caused a loss by a narrow margin is pointless, we lost to Ireland cos of that, several terrible calls that cost us guaranteed tries, especially the one in the last minute that would have pushed us into the win.
      We were already ahead if Libbok's form wasn't out that day.
      But we took the loss, cos we know we'll bounce back.
      Again, South Africa is the No. 1 defense team in the world.
      The other team *always* gets more possession, we tire them out and wait for them to make mistakes. Even against Romania, who we beat 76-0, they had more possession than us.
      You guys were super aggressive, almost like Ireland, and cos we already played Ireland, that really benefitted us, we knew what to expect from a team coming at us full gas.
      France played phenomenal rugby, one of the best games I have EVER watched, but the ref was not against you.

    So proud! Oh Captain, my Captain. Well said! Yes, there were some really crappy calls (seen and unseen, on both sides), and do not get me wrong, I screamed my face off at the ref and have no voice this morning, but we can either complain about it or focus on the game and keep playing. England, we are coming for you...

    All this credit to France is good and well, but we're taking so much credit away from the Boks! Look at the stats!! France should have led by 12 points, but they did not! I want to appaude our Springboks for showing big match temperament and taking the game away from France and 70,000 booeing spectators! WELL DONE BOKKE! You did it for South Africa! We love ya! From an avid female Springboks fan! ❤🏉🇿🇦🤗🥇

    Bonjour,
    Voila, we lost by the smallest of margins. But hey, we saw a great match with a great French team. Yes it hurts the head, we wanted more but hey that's how it is. Now we must move forward, our time will come. We shouldn't throw everything in the trash. I hope that we will have a great end to the World Cup and that the best team win.
    After all... it's just a game, a sport, we're lucky to be able to vibrate for that because there are much more serious things happening at the moment in the world.
    Thank you to all the teams .

    Funny, how some French fans forget how last year they got literally all 50/50 calls in the game in Marseille against us. Or remember the blatant forward pass in 2007 QF against the ABs. Oh and the 2011 world cup... the world cup where you lost 2 pool games and only just beat Wales because they got a red card after 11min. Cry me a river.

    As a French supporter, I´m obviously disappointed, but congratulations to South Africa, and I totally agree with Siya. If France had won, there would have been no comments about the ref. Fact of the matter is, the SA pack put us under so much pressure, we played a lot on the backfoot, didn´t deal with the high balls well, and our scrum replacements weren´t up to the task. But it´s much easier to blame the ref. He didn´t make Baille volley that ball that led to the kolbe try. He didn´t make Jalibert slice his penalty kick in our 22.

    Ole Ben o' Keefe even hurried the scrims up for the French cause he probably knew if he left the scrums to run their course , the boks would've overrun the French scrum. That's why he told the players the balll must come out immediately. He puts his own spin on the games which run against traditional rules. Not a good ref.

    The problem started when everyone kept telling France they'll win the World Cup and they actually believed it. You never go against history. And the two teams to ALWAYS look out for is the Boks and the All Blacks. NO MATTER what their form is like before the World Cup. I'm not even sorry to say but I'm not sorry AT ALL for France or Ireland this is not soccer.
