I'm not sure which team you're supporting, but you must know how ridiculous you sound with that? The teams that won this weekend only won because they wanted it more. That's the difference at that level. You will never understand how much it means to New Zealand and South Africa. They aren't just doing their jobs or playing a sport. For them, they're going to battle for their families and their countries. They have deep dark depths that they go to in world cup knockouts. Without that you will never win. Not while these boys are there.
I don’t think it is about wanting it more at that level. I don’t think there is any denying that the South African heavily lobbied world rugby and consistently spread rumours telling France was being favoured… I think it did play a part in their victory. No one is saying that they didn’t play amazing rugby. It is true tho, that on many decision which were 50/50, they got the ref’s support. It’s true that we shouldn’t criticise the ref, but sometimes what else can you do? If you genuinely think that something is not fair… I know this sounds like France is being a bad looser but I think it’s better to hear us out and then eventually disregard it than just calling it fake news… Refs are people and they can be influenced. They are not gods, not even in rugby.
Also, you have no idea how much rugby means to French fans. Some of us breath and live rugby. For having lived in New Zealand and in the UK I can tell you that rugby is much more deeply rooted in some parts of France. That might sound crazy for Anglo-Saxons but just listen to the French crowds. Rugby is not just a sport in France is a whole culture. Why do you think we have the greatest clubs in the world, why do you think we got to the final of the World Cup so many times. In Anglo-Saxon countries rugby is a private school boyish thing that creates bruts and bullies, in France it’s a respectful friendly atmosphere which is literally passed down from generation to generation. We literally call rugby l’école de la vie, which means the school of life.

Easy to say when the referee is on your side :) french rugby is used to get stolen by refereing. Well whatever, as we said we're used to it, not the first time we lose from it, we know our worth (SA 1995, NZ 2011, and now this year)
WOW - Siya ! That answer has just scored you a *MASSIVE AMOUNT* of brownie points! I have no doubt the French will reciprocate with accolades & kudos for you! What a captain you are! *PROUD TO BE A SPRINGBOK SUPPORTER!*
The question is disingenuous. Antoine only said the refereeing didn’t rise to the occasion, and gave full credit to the springboks that were unbelievable.
In France we call that Commonwealth ref, nothing changes we are doomed in WC. I knew France could play this absolutely kicking ass rugby, but the boks really scored 29 points with almost nothing, quite impressive congratulations for one of the greatest match in the history of rugby.
Well you had two choices, French ref or commonwealth ref. And you weren't getting a French one for a home game. But that statement is very arrogant in my view, to say that France only lost because of the match officials. South Africa learned long ago how to win matches without the ball. Dominating possession and territory aren't the only way.
Tough indeed bt games like dat one including ireland, Springboks where their own enemy in few critical moments. Sloppiness one of the things to be addressed .it is not easy to play such a powerful host nation nd eliminate them.i liked the composure nd experience of our squad.
Well done boys much love from New Zealand hopefully meet again in the finals if not good luck to argintina,, south africa make sure England don't lift that Webb rugby world cup
So proud! Oh Captain, my Captain. Well said! Yes, there were some really crappy calls (seen and unseen, on both sides), and do not get me wrong, I screamed my face off at the ref and have no voice this morning, but we can either complain about it or focus on the game and keep playing. England, we are coming for you...
All this credit to France is good and well, but we're taking so much credit away from the Boks! Look at the stats!! France should have led by 12 points, but they did not! I want to appaude our Springboks for showing big match temperament and taking the game away from France and 70,000 booeing spectators! WELL DONE BOKKE! You did it for South Africa! We love ya! From an avid female Springboks fan! ❤🏉🇿🇦🤗🥇
Great answer, both teams played an amazing game, basically its was a final, but happy the Boks pulled through, thanks to the French for putting up such a fight and they can be proud of the way they played.
Proud of a new robbery like 1995 and 2011 ? Nah, we're tired about the Commonwealth ref private club and these pity ref performances at this rugby world level, O'Keeffe and Etzebeth deserve the red carpet when they will going back at Pretoria airport. Congrats hoodlums
France played well. There was only one point in this game. South Africa deserved their victory. Let’s all be very honest here France and Ireland are both still very good Rugby teams.
Bonjour, Voila, we lost by the smallest of margins. But hey, we saw a great match with a great French team. Yes it hurts the head, we wanted more but hey that's how it is. Now we must move forward, our time will come. We shouldn't throw everything in the trash. I hope that we will have a great end to the World Cup and that the best team win. After all... it's just a game, a sport, we're lucky to be able to vibrate for that because there are much more serious things happening at the moment in the world. Thank you to all the teams .
Funny, how some French fans forget how last year they got literally all 50/50 calls in the game in Marseille against us. Or remember the blatant forward pass in 2007 QF against the ABs. Oh and the 2011 world cup... the world cup where you lost 2 pool games and only just beat Wales because they got a red card after 11min. Cry me a river.
They say Stewed Fruit makes you Crap yourself - but the last 5 Minutes in that Game was like a Double Dose of Stewed Fruit - followed by a Pound of Brooklax.
As a French supporter, I´m obviously disappointed, but congratulations to South Africa, and I totally agree with Siya. If France had won, there would have been no comments about the ref. Fact of the matter is, the SA pack put us under so much pressure, we played a lot on the backfoot, didn´t deal with the high balls well, and our scrum replacements weren´t up to the task. But it´s much easier to blame the ref. He didn´t make Baille volley that ball that led to the kolbe try. He didn´t make Jalibert slice his penalty kick in our 22.
Ole Ben o' Keefe even hurried the scrims up for the French cause he probably knew if he left the scrums to run their course , the boks would've overrun the French scrum. That's why he told the players the balll must come out immediately. He puts his own spin on the games which run against traditional rules. Not a good ref.
The problem started when everyone kept telling France they'll win the World Cup and they actually believed it. You never go against history. And the two teams to ALWAYS look out for is the Boks and the All Blacks. NO MATTER what their form is like before the World Cup. I'm not even sorry to say but I'm not sorry AT ALL for France or Ireland this is not soccer.

Most gracious, Captain Courageous on and off the field. Your intelligence and diplomacy speak highly of the grace reminiscent of strong leaders from South Africa; François Pinot; comes to mind. Thank you, to the Boks, team as well as Les Bleus, for a match made in heaven. Both teams displayed the grace that only two equally matched teams can bring; precision in terms of skill levels, strategy touching key decisions st crucial points during the course of the game and ingenuity to clinch the match. All the best going forward. May the best team win in Paris. Warm sunny greetings from the Fiji Isles 🎉
Siya is such a man! 🙏🏾
Humbleness personified...🎉 Awesome response Kolisi
Easy to say when the referee is on your side :) french rugby is used to get stolen by refereing. Well whatever, as we said we're used to it, not the first time we lose from it, we know our worth (SA 1995, NZ 2011, and now this year)
My captain - such a humble leader - leads from the front - sad that he’s left SA
What do you mean? Like cos he's playing for Racing 92? He's hardly left SA, most our Springboks play for foreign clubs
One of the best games, hard to top the Ireland vs New Zealand game, but they did it, and then some.
WOW - Siya ! That answer has just scored you a *MASSIVE AMOUNT* of brownie points!
I have no doubt the French will reciprocate with accolades & kudos for you! What a captain you are!
*PROUD TO BE A SPRINGBOK SUPPORTER!*
What a captain and human been.
catptain fantastic..Lord keep him humble, i pray
This could have easily been a France win. Great game.
Well said SIR
Brilliant answer captain... marvelous 💯 game
The question is disingenuous. Antoine only said the refereeing didn’t rise to the occasion, and gave full credit to the springboks that were unbelievable.
France still got the rub of the green and their 3rd try was suspect i didnt see that ball near the tryline lookde short
Well said bloody good game and i find fair. Ref was good . Come on guys only 1 point. So close well played and sorry for the loss.
That jist answered all of the presses questions today. That is all 💯
Experience played a huge part in this game. At the dying minutes of the game you need experience.
Ask Fiji how they feel about the French referee that reffed their game….I though that BOK had a decent game.
Tough indeed bt games like dat one including ireland, Springboks where their own enemy in few critical moments. Sloppiness one of the things to be addressed .it is not easy to play such a powerful host nation nd eliminate them.i liked the composure nd experience of our squad.
What a great human being you are Siya. Well done boys!!!
12h19 what an ambassador for South African rugby
Well done boys much love from New Zealand hopefully meet again in the finals if not good luck to argintina,, south africa make sure England don't lift that Webb rugby world cup
I'm no supporter of South Africa but Kolisi is a class act...always.
In Siya and the BOKS we believe 🎉❤️🇿🇦💪🏉
The referee was South Africa’s best player
Your mom is a good player too,, sorry, meant I forgot to " pay her"
@@BC-cp5vr lol

This is why people love Siya. His love is rugby.
Class!!
@@MaxMax-zs3gpAre those grapes tasting pretty sour for you?
Yhoo iam so happy it was tough. Go Bokke!!!
WHAT A LEADER SIYA IS
"We knew it was going to take something special.." 1:13 AND WE BROUGHT IT!
Wonderful young man one in a trillion 🎉
Pure class.
Siya is absolute platinum captain of Springboks. We South African are so proud of him.
wow, so classy...Yes France are a grt team...
France played well. There was only one point in this game.
South Africa deserved their victory.
Let’s all be very honest here France and Ireland are both still very good Rugby teams.
Class act as always Siya Kolisi..captain of the best rugby team on planet earth.Go the Bokke 2023.
I see the cup coming back to its original owners as in SA
As a welsh man happy for u kolisi
A true leader, humble but steely.
Bonjour,
Voila, we lost by the smallest of margins.
Such a classy man!
Bravo à vous ça été un grand match entre 2 grande nation
All Blacks v South Africa final, lets go brothers!! 🇳🇿🇿🇦
They had a speaker playing crowd noise during training to emulate the noise....that's Rassie for you, crossing t's and dotting the i's
He is a credit to the game!
Kolisi is the man, one of the only humble safas
Well said!
Kolisi is a class act
Aye, thanx to the referee, as usual. For commonwealth rugby, a French victory in RWC is just INCONCEIVABLE.
très juste merci bill beamont et world tugby
Siya you legend
Winners always say what he said, so no difference. Winners always think the ref is good. Why can no one else see that..
Kolisi ,Mr Captain 🔥
The problem started when everyone kept telling France they'll win the World Cup and they actually believed it. You never go against history. And the two teams to ALWAYS look out for is the Boks and the All Blacks. NO MATTER what their form is like before the World Cup. I'm not even sorry to say but I'm not sorry AT ALL for France or Ireland this is not soccer.
Avec ton raisonnement,au football le Brésil gagnerait toutes les coupes du monde, crétin.....
It was a very good game. Springboks won it in the end. Reff did have a few poor desicions on both sides but he was a good ref in general. GO BOKKE!!!
Siya - best leader in the modern game of rugby.
A true leader
no one plans to talk about the fact that they are doped? everyone plans to glorify a team that publicly cheats?
Congratulations, i was a great match, thank you.
we have been robbed like alway by and anglosaxon referee
