- Many mountain bike athletes start their careers early, honing skills well before the first signs of adolescence. Then there’s Jackson Goldstone. The Squamish, B.C. youth shot to stardom in 2010 when a homemade video of him riding, jumping, dropping, and spinning his balance bike on the way to kindergarten went viral. Since then, Jackson has risen to the top tiers of the sport, already demonstrating a signature style in mountain bike films and competing on the international stage, shoulder to shoulder with some of the best racers and freeriders in the world.
Talent has played a large part in Jackson’s extraordinary riding ability, but so has his hometown of Squamish. With one of the most densely packed trail networks on the planet right outside his door, Jackson can challenge himself in any mountain biking discipline he chooses, every day of the year. Whether whipping out jump lines with his friends or pinning long, rugged downhill descents to eclipse his personal record, Jackson always rides to have fun. He thinks you should, too.

This video got me fired up as a dad of a 4 and 2 year old who ride everyday. I’m so stoked that Squamish/Whistler is the MTB Mecca from a fellow Canadian out east. I had both of my sons on balance bikes and now on front suspension MTBs we hit the downhills at our local hill or get lost (no joke) in the forest searching for new trail routes (even with Trail Forks, getting old!). The people I met on my several trips to BC in this area are extremely grounded and deserve all of the attention for the next generation.

I've been riding this bike for 7 years now! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L It was a great bike the day I got it, put it together, and went on my first ride; more importantly it's an even better bike today. I've ridden trails, street, and skatepark all on this bike. I have replaced almost every part on the bike. Some stuff has broken: derailleurs, wheels, shifter. Everything else were upgrades. The only ramaing original parts are the frame, bottom bracket, and crank set. BB and cranks will be upgraded soon. The geometry isn't great but that is really the only draw back to how good a value this bike is. Even after all the money I've spent upgrading it's still a more affordable bike than I'd have bought from a proper bike shop, especially with full suspension. I've also learned a lot about bikes working on it over the years. It really is one of the best perchases I've ever made and hopefully it'll still be around for another 7 years.
jackson is the definition of natural talent. Dont get me wrong looks like he has put in a enormous amount of work to get where he is. Very Very lucky to be that naturally gifted tho. Cannot wait to see him racing elite mens in the future

We started a "kids on striders" playlist for my son to watch ... when COVID-19 hit we got him a Commencal Ramones andthought the videos of other kids shredding would motivate him. There were lots of good videos of kids on run bikes, but my 2.5 year old kid just became obsessed with anything to do with Jackson Goldstone. We've watched the 2-minute video of Jackson learning cork 720s at Woodward on repeat 10 times in a row. We just watched this video this morning for the first time and it's already a new fave that I will be watching hundreds of times in the coming weeks.... We love the emphasis put on family in his story and it's cool that Jackson is inspiring the next generation of chargers - whether he succeeds at world cup level or not he seems like a great, down to earth guy and he's definitely an all-round shredder. Great video!
