You exactly mirrored my 7.7 experience with UK. I find that the FOX has more shrapnel and can one shot an M48 frontal but no chance with a Conq/Cent/Caen/FV4202
youd expect with a cannon this large and with that long reload youd obliterate everything with that 400+ mms of pen, but all it seems to do is track T-55s and non pen is-4s
Imagine trying to grind thru and spade centurion 1 with it's 17pdr APDS at least I hoped that 20pdr vehicles and Conqueror/Convey would be semi good.... Now I kinda regret my choices...
Though if you want to have fun with Britain, use it’s 8.3 SPAA line up (Falcon, Marksman & ZA-35) As it’s my go to line up for getting consistent nukes
Gaijin made Solid Shot more realistic without even asking players for their opinions. But when they planned to make APHE damage more realistic, they created a questionnaire and of course, people really didn't like the damage the way it should be. Gaijin chose to abandon realism in APHE for the fun of most players but neglected the suffering of players who use Solid Shot.
It is a tank that needs to be played passively but that's because it was designed as a defensive tank. Also, use more HESH. I do well with the Conqueror though Gaijin have got APDS and APCR all wrong in game, I'll give you that and it can be frustrating. That being said, I think because you play a load of different nations, you are probably used to not having to be so specific in where you shoot. I always get that coming back to Britain having played other nations where the APHE nuke shells are fine no matter where you hit (they shouldn't be)
I found the Conqueror to be really good, and it's one of my favorite vehicles. I guess it fares differently in different hands. I always only attack when I have cover to back into should my shot fail.
I had a situation where I shot at a tank, missed cuz he moved but it killed the Conquerer behind him and I was like what?! That is not what I shot at! Is-2 for the win Lol
@@Polarfuchs my first TT was the British one and it’s still my favourite. A lot of shit tanks but so much variation and character + the playstyle it forces you into (playing slowly and methodically while sniping mostly) made me a better player because I really had to learn weak spots and maps well to be effective

I remember using the conqueror prior to the APDS nerf, was one of my favourite tanks as you could 1 shot everything…
We have to ask the big questions: why are squirrels so bad at playing the piano? Probably because they won't spend enough hours in War Thunder.

Conqueror does slightly better with HESH after the HESH buff, but its really just switching from one form of pain to another

Hope 8.0 will treat you better, too bad they had to move the falcon up to 8.3, with 2 other SPAAs. Vickers' RoF is great though.

I thoroughly enjoy(ed) the Conqueror many moons ago when it was 7.3 and the APDS (Kinda) worked.. Now it is just miserable.

That's my next lineup, I just got done Spading the 7.7 lineup
this is genuienly one of my favorite tanks in the game it has gotten me the most nukes about 30 ish out of my total 60 ish
