I would like to ask: Maybe for one of your next videos...Can you do the best Riu, Hard Rock, Planet Hollywood, or Margaritaville Resorts? I'm clueless when trying to find out where and which one's are best.

Thanks for the reviews. That said, one thing surprises me...We've been to dozens of resorts in Punta Cana, including TRS, The Reserve, Club Med and Majestics resorts (All adults only club sections)...But the one that we prefered by far, was The Iberostar Grand! It is just spectacular. Food, staff service, wideness, not crowded! It was just the best we've seen. Now, we absolutly plan to visit excellence's resorts after seeing your review. Thanks again.
My wife and I went to Excellence Punta Cana last year and by the second day we were plotting and scheming on how soon we could return. The main pool does have a ramp for entry at one end but unfortunately it doesn't give access to the entire pool since one of the bridges actually forms a break. Several restaurants rotate the days they open, but the buffet was wonderful every time we went with many delicious options. My wife is a fairly picky eater and even she found several new things to try and enjoy. The staff was nothing short of amazing. Helpful and friendly always greeting us with a smile. Sounds like we may need to give Excellence El Carmen a try also.
Thank you for the video. We are just back from Club Med Miches, about 1:15 from Punta Cana. Beautiful resort. We loved it. It’s the only resort on the beach, so you can walk forever without seeing anyone. But it won’t be long before other hotels pop up there as the government wants to develop that area. Food was very good and loads of activities. Worth the extra distance from the airport.
My husband and I spent a week at Excellence El Carmen from your recommendation in a video last year. Needless to say we are hooked. Two months later we went to Oyster Bay, and we have Punta Cana and Playa Mujeres booked for this year. We plan to go back to at El Carmen & Oyster Bay next year.
My husband and I stayed at TRS Turquesa last year and LOVED it. Were actually going back this year. The tram service was awesome and your butler can call and let them know they have people waiting if you are waiting from your room. The food was fantastic and I am a very picky eater. They were really good about asking about food allergies at every meal also as I have a severe food allergy. We had a swim out room which was really cool. Everyone was honestly so kind. A lot of the shops were closed but we also did go during Covid so wasnt to surprising. We went to the spa and had amazing massages.
I think that all your subscribers would agree that you should be a travel agent so we can book all of our vacations with you. You are the best go to travel person when planning a vacation . We trust you.😁
That seals it. I was between Excellence Punta Cana and Excellence El Carmen, with the edge going to El Carmen, but you just solidified my choice! DR has it all. Most of People only talk about punta cana. That's not the most beautiful beaches. Samana is an european environtment,not gringo. More exclusive. Its a bay full of gorgeous beaches,Bahía de las águilas, punta rucia,la ensenada and many more. Punta cana has beautiful beaches but not the best.
I've stayed at the TRS in. 2017 & 18 &2019. It is a very beautiful property. The Butler we had was very helpful and made our stay more enjoyable. His name is Jose Torres. He took care of our reservation. I highly recommend TRS .
Would love a review of family resorts in the Dominican. We went in 2019 and had the worst experience. We stayed @ Grand Sirenis resort and spa. Never again. So hard to choose. Too many options. We also love a great beach. Thanks ! Your reviews are so helpful. 💖🇨🇦😎🌴
My husband surprised me with a beautiful trip to Excellence punta cana for my 50th birthday! That was the best birthday especially since im always the one who plans all the trips.😄
I visited the Hard Rock years ago. It’s a great resort. I would highly recommend. The rooms were huge so if have multiple people in a room, it’s great. Plenty of food options and things to do. I agree, the resort is huge. They do have golf carts. Luckily, our rooms were close the main building so it was easy to get to food and things in the main building. The pool were further so we would take a golf cart. Not sure if it’s still there but there was hidden adults only pool. It was great. It’s not located near any other resorts. I got a little nervous on the way from the airport because it’s far out and nothing is by it. I was the only person left on the transport bus. I was fine after I saw the signs. Down side it’s not adults only.
I went to Excellence El Carmen on a solo trip to PC, and I had a great time. I stayed at a Roof Top Terrance Ocean View room w/ the VIP amenities. They spoiled me there; loved it!
I have been to the magestic and the elegance is by far the best of the 3. I had the best steak in their Steakhouse. They have a club level that give you access to parts of the property others don’t have access to, including lounges and swim up suites and it comes with butler. Those rooms comes with 2 jacuzzi tubs. One in your room and one on your balcony. At the elegance you also have access to the other two resorts.
I’ve never stayed at an all inclusive, would like to check one out sometime. Last time I went near one a salesperson was pushing some sort of timeshare deal and wouldn’t leave me alone lol.

I have stayed in 6 out the 10 hotels you mention. Palladium is one of my favorite, love it there. Least favorite was hard rock, however, really nice too. The friendliest stuff was Dreams, tho on the oldest of all, the stuff made my stayed amazing.

This video is perfect timing. I have had Sandals Barbados booked for over a year however due to the horrible flight options and pricing right now I may have to postpone it again. I was considering Punta Cana as a replacement and was debating on trying a different resort over Excellence as I have been to EOB & EPM . Love your videos Vanessa! My wife and I loved Hard Rock and are planning a stay at Excellence Punta Cana. Some people might be turned off by the chop at the beach at both of these locations but I love it. I can sit in a pool anywhere. I come to Punta Cana for the surf :)
Good recommendations and info but I detest preferred club and travel club resorts that push membership at every turn. TRS was pretty good as they only approached at the start then left us alone to enjoy our vacation.

We went to Excellence el Carmen in 2021 and completely agree on the pools being the best part! The food was lackluster though and only the steakhouse and Japanese restaurant were open (on alternating nights) in the 4 days we were there. We were a little surprised about that since we were expecting many different restaurant options

I went to Majestic Colonial in 2019 I liked it. I did return in Nov 2022 at the Majestic Elegance was better , I do return for 3rd time next April 2025 for 10 days at Elegance again. I liked it. Food better choice, pools lazy river better, beach it's the same all along to all 3 sections Colonial Elegance Mirage. I like also the great employees always smiling and helpful. I would switch 1 and 2, maybe it was just my experience when I stayed at both back to back. I stayed at Punta Cana first then moved to El Carmen and wish we did it the other way around.

Another fantastic video Vanessa. I visited Punta Cana in 2018 and stayed at the Iberostar Grand. Big Mistake, and figures it didn't even make this list. I wish this video was around before I booked. I was thinking that I would never go back to Punta Cana, but you may have changed my mind with your number one pick. I eagerly await your next video.
I returned from Excellence El Carmen just last week. Excluding 3 years of non travel due to covid, this was our 6th trip to Punta Cana in 12 years as we alternate between there and the Mayan Riviera. Agree, the people, the grounds, the beach, and the buildings are great. Our room was nice (Excellence Club bldg. 3), though quasi open concept so if you like your privacy in the privy/shower, well now you know. Could be real awkward if you and a friend are sharing a room. Perhaps awkward at any time? While I realize YMMV and opinions are subjective, the food was not 5 star. The majority of people we met shared the same opinion. There were a few that raved about a particular dish, so perhaps it is a matter of right time right place? But I will side with the majority on this one. The upside was, we were on vacation the first time after 3 years, and had a great time.
Your opinion on the food @ EEC,😮 really!? I loved most all of it! Las Ola's on the beach was just average at best to me. Everyone's taste buds are definitely built different. I did find that overall, the food exceeded "resort style" expectations.

I’ve stayed at the Majestic and Hard Rock resorts and although We thought they were very nice they weren’t even close to the Grand. I agree that the Excellence is a great place in the DR but as they say individual mileage may vary!

Went to secrets cap Cana for our honeymoon last year for two weeks. The resort, staff and restaurants are AMAZING. You’ll have a great time I’m sure!

Another fantastic video Vanessa. I visited Punta Cana in 2018 and stayed at the Iberostar Grand. Big Mistake, and figures it didn't even make this list. I wish this video was around before I booked. I was thinking that I would never go back to Punta Cana, but you may have changed my mind with your number one pick.

I returned from Excellence El Carmen just last week. Excluding 3 years of non travel due to covid, this was our 6th trip to Punta Cana in 12 years as we alternate between there and the Mayan Riviera. Agree, the people, the grounds, the beach, and the buildings are great. Our room was nice (Excellence Club bldg. 3), though quasi open concept so if you like your privacy in the privy/shower, well now you know. Could be real awkward if you and a friend are sharing a room. Perhaps awkward at any time?
While I realize YMMV and opinions are subjective, the food was not 5 star. The majority of people we met shared the same opinion. There were a few that raved about a particular dish, so perhaps it is a matter of right time right place? But I will side with the majority on this one. The upside was, we were on vacation the first time after 3 years, and had a great time.
Your opinion on the food @ EEC,😮 really!? I loved most all of it! Las Ola's on the beach was just average at best to me. Everyone's taste buds are definitely built different. I did find that overall, the food exceeded "resort style" expectations.

We just left Punta Cana and we stayed at Dreams Onyx. The service and stay was on point but the food was not that great and the drinks were weak.

Thanks for the reviews! Surprised not to see the Iberostar Grand Bavarro on the list. I’ve stayed at the Majestic and Hard Rock resorts and although We thought they were very nice they weren’t even close to the Grand. I agree that the Excellence is a great place in the DR but as they say individual mileage may vary!
The Grand is outstanding! Very surprised as well it’s not on the list.

Want the best food and service? Visit Hyatt Ziva / Zilara. Not cheap but is the best over here (btw Im dominican and have visited over 40 hotels around my country)

I only go to Excellence resorts when going to an all inclusive. It's not worth risking your vacation with other resorts!

Punta Cana is nice but the beaches are so dirty thanks to all the seaweed that washes ashore… Varadero Beach is much nicer
