It’s weird how $60 feels fair but $70 feels like way too much
Probably cause it's always been 60, no higher. yeah super special chocolate covered editions could cost 120 but that's for fucking idiots who think collecting a game is worth anything.
So that's why it feels like it's too much, because it has always been 60 or lower and that became the standard everywhere and if anybody tried to do it higher they'd get metaphorically lynched.
But Sony is a big ass company, they can afford to take the heat and that will pave the way for developers to raise it to 70 and make that the new norm.
That’s why I wait until a game is $40 and under to get it. Stores liquidate discs all the time. That’s why physical is always best

With the removable faceplates, I'd like to see games released with their own faceplates as well. There wouldn't be a need for a special edition of consoles anymore, and it'd be so more affordable.

@@mangaslash3r Some placed you can buy pre-owned versions, either in stores or anyone you know selling their CD's. I bought my God of War for over half price a few weeks after it came out because I know a nerd who completes games and sells them right away to get money back from buying them.
If you spend $70 on a game, and sell it for $35, you only bought the game for $35 and the next person also bought it half price. 2 people played the game for $70 instead of $140.

Has anyone actually obtained a PS5 from the official pre-order date and beyond? All the stock on the planet was gone before the actual pre-order date.
For real. I was looking multiple times a day since pre order date and nowhere I have looked has ever had them available for order. Since 5 minutes after they went up for PO there have been none available

I got one, only because i signed up for the PRE pre order, and I was luckily chosen to be one of the first to be able to pre order and secure one, I heard they’re gettin more on launch day tho so be fast
I preordered a ps5 disc edition and xbox series x disc edition both on preorder day. Just took HOURS. Literally everyone I know that didn't give up got one. I got my ps5 from Amazon and xbox from best buy
The disk version isn't just about bad internet. I get games 70% off within 2 weeks of it coming out by buying it used. I have to wait a whole damn year for it to go on sale in the Microsoft/Sony store, and then it will only go for 20% off
Also you can sell a physical copy or keep it and it might go up in value one day
also its easier to return a broken game on disk than through the psn store (depending on country). bought a game which didnt start for some reason, left home with the broken copy, came back with a working one with no hassle.

naw. i haven’t bought a single physical copy in over 3 years. it’s nice not having to cram for room around my entertainment center and pre-loading/playing new games the moment they drop without having to leave the house.
@@treefiddytwoo Personally I don't miss it much when I only have the digital copy, but the problem with not having a disc drive is that you're totally subject to Sony's prices. You can't borrow a game from a friend or buy it way cheaper second hand- you're totally under their thumb when those options are taken away. If you don't mind paying in full, that's totally fine of course, but personally, I'm always looking for a discount and like to buy used games in perfect condition. Ultimately, because of that, I think the extra money spent on the disc drive will pay for itself in how much I save by shopping for games the way that I do.

On the store, it was $29.99CAD. At EB Games, a new copy was $19.99 and a used copy, which is what I got, was only $16.99. To me, this just screams that Sony is going to take advantage of us given the opportunity.

Actually the biggest selling point for me when it comes to choosing the version with a disk reader is the used games market. For the exception of the games I really liked, I always buy and sell them. That's very overlooked point when discussing about if getting the version with the disk reader is worth it or not.

@@pdr4m559 as of right now it’s only private beta in North America as far as I know. But in a few months it should be starting public beta for North America and lower parts of Canada at first throughout 2021 and then into other countries after that.

The fact that the face plate is easily replaceable, means we absolutely won’t have to live with the irregularly shaped router, someone will come out with a regular shaped flat faceplate. I don’t really mind the original design though but it’s nice to have options.

True, but not everybody cares about that. Me personally I play all my games digitally. Haven't caught myself this generation buying any physical games. In my disk drive has recently broke out of nowhere. So this just further solidifies me going more digital. I'm definitely going TOTALLY digital when I move to PC.

dude first part PS5 game in the UK are £65-£70 (£70 on the PSN store) pounds which is around $85-$90. this price jump seem extreme considering we were already paying the equivalent of $65 dollars.
Which basically translates to the physical Ps5 being the best investment. Buy used games or wait for prices to drop in store rather than on psn. Black ops 3 is £60 and it’s 5 fucking yrs old. Their prices never drop

The “prices haven’t ever changed” thing is stupid and needs to stop! Games and especially console games get sold at a fixed price worldwide, steam is an exception. Money does not have the same value around the world and the same goes for labor, raw materials and living costs. This means that companies can make more money by selling thier games in countries with bad exchange rates but cheaper living costs whilst still making a profit in countries like the USA because most games are a once off cost. Yes, the price you pay in the USA is still the same as 20 years back but in many other countries games costs more than what many people live on for a month!

@@nikonei 10 years ago the exchange rate in Russia was around 35 rub/$1, so $60 games were selling for approx. 1500-2000 rub and even sometimes 2500 rub (notice the math doesn't add up, cause they were bumping them up to $80).
At the same time people in Moscow made 35k rub ($1k) a month, with some of them making upwards of 60-70k rub (around $2k) a month, so that was okay.
But now the exchange rate is around 79 rub/$1, so some people are still making 60-70k a month, but now it's less than $1k and the ones who make 35k are now basically screwed with a less than $500 paycheck.
So that $60 price tag is now over 4000 rub per game. Which is way too much for most people, since it's basically double what people paid for a game ten years ago.

Another thing to know about the next gen consolses is that there are very little choices in tvs and monitors that have hdmi 2.1 let alone run at 120 hz over hdmi.

How is the expansion drive more affordable when you're literally paying more per gb considering it's a little bit more then half the price of the Xbox expansion card, with half the storage?
Because the ps5 drive is faster than Xbox and given that it’s very new technology it’s less than we expected.
@@noahvanilla6957 that doesn't make it more affordable. It's not much faster and price per gb is still higher. SSDs is not new technology. I've had my nvme m.2 ssd drive on my pc for 2.5 years now and others longer then that.

Not sure why everyone is hyped to get a “next gen” console only to play remastered remasters. Like honestly remember when PS4 was supposed to be “next gen” and we got nothing but remasters, lol ps5 will be the same shit, and y’all will eat it up like fomo sheep.

The same reason you might get a pc and buy the same games you had on a console and realize “wow I never truly experienced this game” not comparing the p5 to pc but many games were limited to what they can do like assassins creed doing 900p and knowing just a bit about tech will make you interested in the p5, people were underwhelmed before the PS4 came out cause the specs released showed it wasn’t much of a leap from ps3, we are stepping into a whole new era of gaming rn of course you won’t understand rn it’s not out yet
