    One of the best bikes ever. Yes, you can laugh, but it's true.

    Great sound. No wind noise! I keep coming back to this video. Such a cool looking K75.

    Owned a '92 model, only issue I had was keeping the clutch cable adjusted as these have a dry clutch. EXCELLENT commuter or road trip bike, not too tricky to maintain... and the stock horn gets serious attention (unlike the one equipped on many Japanese models).

    I am original owner of 1990 K75RT. Get hard and expensive to get some parts. But very hot in Texas summers.

    Nice review. I currently own a 1993 K75S and have owned 2 K75 Beemers prior. Good machines.

    Very Very Nice Bike , I have had two 1991 K75RT's and loved them both . My first one was Black a Beautiful like yours , the one I have now is Brick Red , not so pretty but I feel it could have out run my Black one . Ha!Ha! I'm 70 and will never sell my K75 , it still runs just like yours and the only trouble is I have to replace the seal in the Differential , can't have my BMW leaking Oil (Like a Harley ! Ha!) . Loved the review , the ride and your appreciation for your lovely Motorcycle .

    Nice review. I like the Beamers from this period - the newer stuff keeps getting more and more complicated - harder to work on, and more to 'go wrong'

    Excellent video. Motorbike looks like it's in great shape. I have the K100RT with the same windscreen and I am losing my mind - no matter how I adjust the bars or my head, I can't get my helmet quiet or stable unless I duck a few inches... Will probably end up adding the same wunderlich thing. Love their stuff.

    Great video! I was wondering about the windshield extension you have... I myself am a few centimeters too high and I get all the wind on the helmet, so I'd like to install a similar system on my own RT. Is it DIY or did you purchase it? If so, do you have a reference? Thanks in advance!

    • @circuitbender

      Found it thanks to your other video, the one where you just go it installed... But wow, that is expensive, for a piece of plexi and a piece of metal!

    Was thinking about getting this as my first bike, but sadly I need to put a restrictor on it to lower it to 47bhp or 35kw.

    Mooie video!
    Ik ben mij een beetje aan het oriënteren, en ik vroeg mij af of de motor comfortabel is voor lange mensen. Ikzelf ben 1,98m: hoe lang bent u en zit de motor comfortabel?

    • @BMWK75Rider
      @BMWK75Rider  5 років тому +1

      Ik ben zelf 1,87 meter de motor zit geweldig. Ik denk dat als je langer bent, je ook prima kunt zitten. Ik heb verschillende reizen gemaakt en daarbij soms een hele dag op de motor gezeten. Prima te doen!

    Hi there how tall are you? What do you think is the max body size to be able to fit your legs behind the RT fairing? Heard som complaints about taller people not being able to fit their legs… Thank for the great video BTW👍

    • @BMWK75Rider
      @BMWK75Rider  2 місяці тому

      Hmm, hard to say. I'm 1,87 m and have no problems. My brother is a little bit shorter, but maybe has longer legs because he always complained when he rode my bike that he couldn't fit his legs properly behind the fairings. So, the only way is to make a test ride. Good luck!

    Beautiful, practical bike. Would you recommend it to budget motorcyclists? Are they as reliable as a Japanese bike, and how much do they cost to maintain/repair? I hear most shops don't work on these anymore. Cheers.

      Yes, absolutely invest in a K series. I don't even want a shop working on my anything. They over charge and under preform. I love older vehicles because they are built to a standard not a price. Today they are extremely great values. You also qualify for classic insurance. I had the opportunity to purchase a 1985 K100 LT in 98% condition 79,213 miles on it from BMW collector's son. The gentleman passed away and I loaded it up for $2,000. I have never seen a used bike so clean in all my life. I truly have a hard time believing it has that many miles. Yes, absolutely invest in a K series.

    I ride a K75T which I purchased new. Never had to do more than an occasional battery and regular oil and fluid changes. It has never left me on the side of the road and I have been told by former K75 owners that they never should have sold theirs. Recently I bought a 2004 R1150RT with 5000 mi. on it so my wife can ride with me in comfort. Not near as smooth as the K-bike and very "buzzy" through the handlebars. Guess which one is going for sale? (FYI - Not the wife).

    You may install heated handgrips Switch, ABS disabler switch and Electric windshield switch (this is my setup regarding my K75RT Ultima)

    • @BMWK75Rider
      @BMWK75Rider  9 років тому

      I don't have ABS, neither an electric windshield (position is only changeable with special adapters). The only thing I do consider are indeed the heated handgrips, but since the top of my fingers are always cold, I doubt if they will work for me.

    • @Mike-dy8sj
      @Mike-dy8sj 9 років тому

      My abs controller is shot.New ones are far too expensive to me worth it. I don't like that blinking abs light. And I'd like to remove those two abs units on either side of the bike bevy to the rear tire.I'm sure there very heavy and no longer needed anyway. But it seams like the breaks run directly into those units before reaching the caliper. So it may not be possible to remove them without a lot of work and $$$. So that abs switch sounds like something I could use.

    Hi there
    Nice 'review' :) - How is the petrol-economy? I hope its around the 20 km/l mark I've heard of.

    • @BMWK75Rider
      @BMWK75Rider  9 років тому +2

      Thanks! Yes, I get about 400 km out of the 20 liter petrol tank. So that's 1 liter of petrol per 20 km. During winter consumption is a little higher (1:18).

      I got my own K75C now, and its between 18 and 22 km/l, so thats nice :) Lovely machine. Though a bit troublesome after long periods without running. I think its dirt collecting in the injector-system, blocking flow to one cylinder.

    Hi. What is the topspeed? What are the rpm in topgear at 90 km/h and what is the fuel consumption at 90 km/h. Thanks from Denmark and stay safe

    • @BMWK75Rider
      @BMWK75Rider  2 роки тому +1

      Topspeed: I think 200 km/h? Never tried. RPM at 90 km/h is around 3000 rpm if I remember correctly. Fuel consumption at 90 km/u: 1:24 (l/km) easily.

    I hAd a Yellow K75RT that I rode everywhere for three years putting 65K on in no hurry at all. Wonderful bike for real world speed limits and its ability to handle long trips with ease. My problem was the local shop didn’t want to work on it and when the rear end went they wanted $3K to work on it. BMW abandoned the K series and moved on but the rear drive was the death of the machine. They were also top heavy to a huge degree. Now, at 71 I have a gold wing and find I can handle rhe weight of the thing much better

    • @OmmerSyssel

      Actually the rear end issue is an owner responsibility because of failing maintenance.
      Driveshaft splines has to be greased

      Not so with these early BMW multi-cylinder in-line engines ~ The Early "K" Bike Era (circa 1983 through 2004). Possibly the best machines BMW ever manufactured, innovative engineering wise with clean "futuristic", or "forward thinking" styling for the times. These are really beginning to go up in value as "high tech" for the '80s motorcycles. The 3 cylinder model is smoother than the 4 cylinder model engines, hence, those are the more desirable units to pick up right now for a moderate investment, over time, and they are wonderful engines and machines to enjoy listening to, riding and utilizing the K75 platform to whatever your needs are. They have the "Standard", or "Base" model, then the sportier K75S and the Flagship of the Line: The K75RT Touring Bike.
      I have personally seen one early K75 Standard with 419,000 miles on it and it was NOT rebuilt. These bikes are known to do over 500,000 Miles without major overhauls! Amazing German engineering and quality of materials used over the entire motorcycle to make it pretty much "Bullet-Proof".
      Thank You so much for your little review!
      The first video I could actually HEAR the wonderful engine noises of this motorcycle, without all of the usual WIND NOISE! (lol - ok - Rant Over there. lol)

    • @OmmerSyssel
      @OmmerSyssel 4 роки тому

      Seems to be very stable technic, despite their age.
      The only major issue I've noticed is this one:
      "Only one thing kills an early K bike, and that is not lubing the drive shaft splines. This is mandatory, and often overlooked."
