Guru Paduka Strotram
Anantha samsara samudhra thara naukayithabhyam guru bhakthithabhyam,
Vairagya samrajyadha poojanabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam. 1
Salutations and Salutations to the sandals of my Guru,
Which are like a boat, which helps me cross the endless ocean of life,
Which endows me, with the sense of devotion to my Guru,
And by worship of which, I attain renunciation
Kavithva varasini sagarabhyam, dourbhagya davambudha malikabhyam,
Dhoorikrutha namra vipathithabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam. 2

Which is the ocean of knowledge, resembling the full moon,
Which is the water, which puts out the fire of misfortunes,
And which removes distresses of those who prostrate before it.
Natha yayo sripatitam samiyu kadachidapyasu daridra varya,
Mookascha vachaspathitham hi thabhyam ,namo nama sri guru padukhabyam.3

Which make those who prostrate before it,
Possessors of great wealth, even if they are very poor,
And which makes even dumb people into great orators.
Naleeka neekasa pada hrithabhyam, nana vimohadhi nivarikabyam,
Nama janabheeshtathathi pradhabhyam namo nama sri guru padukhabyam. 4

Which attracts us, to lotus like feet of our Guru,
Which cures us, of unwanted desires,
And which helps fulfill the desires of those who salute.
Nrupali mouleebraja rathna kanthi sariddha raja jjashakanyakabhyam,
Nrupadvadhabhyam nathaloka pankhthe, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam. 5

Which shine like gems on the crown of a king,
Which shine like a maid in the crocodile infested stream,
And which make the devotees attain the status of a king.
Papandhakara arka paramparabhyam, thapathryaheendra khageswarabhyam,
Jadyadhi samsoshana vadaveebhyam namo nama sri guru padukhabyam. 6

Which is like a series of Suns, driving away the dark sins,
Which is like the king of eagles, driving away the cobra of miseries,
And which is like a terrific fire drying away the ocean of ignorance.
Shamadhi shatka pradha vaibhavabhyam,Samadhi dhana vratha deeksithabhyam,
Ramadhavadeegra sthirha bhakthidabhyam, namo nama sri guru padukhabyam.7

Which gives the students, the ability to go in to eternal trance,

I really cried when I read the chapter "Last Days with my Guru" in "Autobiography of a Yogi". This book is such a blessing to all of us 🙏

I had a chance to donate 5 books once . Another occasion , I bought 20 books on concessional offer on International yoga day( half price ) . Immediately purchased . Within next two days , I distributed them to happy morning walking friends in the neighbouring park. It was an occasion of immense happiness to me .Jai Gurudev🙏🙏🙏.

romain reuter sorry to say but Nityananda is a fraud at a very big scale. Please check about him online. Haven’t heard of Maharishi Yogi but I don’t have much of an opinion about Sathya Sai baba either. The thing is real gurus never want to become famous or start a cult and amass money. It’s only with due diligence and sadhana can you a find a guru for yourself. The gurus who have realised Self and have understood the very meaning of life are very few in number these days and they mostly are found in remote locations doing meditation and living their lives.

I just started reading this book, this is my path right now. Swamiji Yogananda's expIainations of this tradition is amazing, a enlightened read for sure. I visited the Swami's temple in Encinitas, California many years ago and I guess there I made the connection, I felt the energy and did not understand it at that time, alll I know my soul felt "home" whne I use to go sit and meditate in the beautiful gardens, this was the connection with super consciousness in Sanatana Hindu Dharma, the most beautiful tradition there is and the oldest. I am so blessed that my Guru found me, called me up in a dream 2 years ago, before I knew who he was, and placed me on this path. Truly blessed by Bhagwan Sri Paramahamsa Nithyananda Paramashivam Swamiji.
