I had the same problem until I realized that even if you get guess pitch you still have to move the pci up or down or left or right to get a good power/contact swing. You can't just leave your pci where it is when you guess the pitch right.
If I remember correctly, guess pitch concentrates your power into the guessed pitch and zone. Outside of the guessed area, your power is weakened much like anticipating a pitch in a real game (swinging out of your shoes on a curveball down when you were sitting fastball high).

@TDBarrett2 if you use guess pitch and ONLY guess the pitch, not location, it'll tell you if you're right or wrong on the pitch by flashing a color when the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. if you're using the guess zone as well, guessing the wrong area will not show you if you guessed the pitch right. This is especially useful for a pitcher who only has one fastball because, if you guess fastball every time, you'll know if you have to sit on the breaking ball or if you can swing for the fences with a fastball! Sorry this is long, but hope this helps!

Do the baserunning and fielding too if you decide to sim games, watching just hitting for 30 minutes can get boring. Also, diving into first base actually slows you down, you have the same or better chance to beat the throw by just running through the bag
