My dear teacher a good video as always greetings from the warm Dominican Republic for you and your beautiful family it is beautiful to see you accompanied by Mrs. Robertson
I used to go to the Zortman "Big Dig" every Memorial Day weekend, that was sponsored by the GPAA chapter out of Billings. What a blast! Glad you enjoyed it!
Wish I knew y'all were going up their..ive been goin their for the last 16 years now. Great place to go that's close .. thay corner y'all were working has been worked hard. Ask em about the big dig best time to go.. Wish I could show you pics of my gold this last season... glad to hear y'all finally made it out their..
That sure is a interesting place. I always have to work when they have the big dig over there. I sure plan on going back next year I will look you up before we head over.
Great video! I've been to Zortman many times over the years. Depending where you're mining, there's a miner's code that most of us follow. Most of the miners leave their equipment on site. Just be sure you watch the weather. When there is a major rain coming ,your equipment can be easily washed away. The Billings chapter of the GPAA has a large gathering in Zortman on Memorial Day weekend. Check with them for details. they didn't meet in 2020 because of Covid-19.
Thank you. I sure hope to get back over there agian this summer. I can see what you are talking about with the water over there. Thanks for the info on the GPAA chapter.
Hi Alan, Prospector Dean here from MN. Glad you all are doing well. I haven't had a chance to get out there the last couple of years, all my mining stuff still in storage at Helena, so I enjoy your videos because I can mine and prospect a bit through you. Bob R. from the Lincoln club told me a couple years ago the club outing to Zortman is fun and good gold, I just haven't had a chance to join you guys yet... I like when you take a minute or two and show the lay of the land and creek on the various videos you make, so I can see the general area myself and think of where I might set up my sluice for a run, or just test various spots... I was looking at gold fox trommels and sluices the other night again on their website, very nice, and guess I would say I would prefer the sluice part not painted. Also, the grizzly in the destruction box appears to really slows the run down - picking rocks out by hand, which seems exactly opposite of why you are running a trommel in the first place. One thing I really like about the trommel he made for the gold cube was how much faster I was able to run test materials, opposed to the way the cube comes stock, it made a huge difference to just shovel or bucket material into the catch basin and adjust for material composition by tweaking the angle of the trommel with the different notches built right into the unit. Thanks for posting!
Hi Dean I sure hope things settle down by next summer let me know if you make it back out maybe we could meet up at the claim in Lincoln. The gold fox trommel are a nice unit if it was me I would just by the top of the trommel that will fit on any sluice box or a cube and save a ton of money. Of course I am perfectly happy with my bucket trommel.
Hey Alan, really nice Zortman gold you found. That deal sounds real good too. Nice to have a hotel or camp park nearby. Might consider doing that some day. Your system is very well tuned. Looking great !! That's a lot of digging ! Must have moved a couple yards ? Keep up the great work. 🤠⛏⚒👍
What a great trip by the looks of things. I think the next thing you need to build is a dredge even though there's not that much to them. I'm sure you can incorporate a bucket into it somehow🍻💛😉😂
@@alanrobertson2510 no problem. I see potential for one to shift a lot of material easily without breaking your back. We aren't getting any younger and need a good back. My friend pirate dredger does it in Scotland and its hard to get him to do any digging these days because dredging is the answer because his back is really bad. Are you subscribed to his channel? If not say I sent you! I'm currently looking for a decent petrol water pump to work a ventury nozzle on with my Keene mini max. I'm disabled so anything that makes it easier for me is a bonus and helps me do more.
I was working in that area a few years ago (lodgepole). My next job was in zortman (the little village at the bottom of the hard Rock mine). Anyways my gps took up up that road. I only went 1/2 mile before realizing i didn't want to take my company van any further.
Definitely a beautiful area to work! Would love to see it in person! Awesome clean out!! I received the 2 mats I ordered. Will be ordering more for sure in the future. I have a case of silicone (from silicone depot) that I have had for a while now. Just have not had the time to try and make the mats I have molds for =(
Looked like a great time out! Decent gold! Very nice! I hope your bucket trommel didn’t put Bobs to shame too badly (only kidding). Lol I really think your inventions have turned this hobby on it’s head and made it so much more accessible to people that can’t buy that super nice equipment. It is a sweet little unit though. I wonder if he needed the clay claw though. Seems to slow things down considering how loose the material looked.
I had a rock set aside that I was going to show but got to late and tired and forgot about it. Maybe I can find it in the spring. lol. The gold fox trommel is a sweet unit for sure as it should be for $1400.00. I will be sticking with my $80.00 bucket trommel it's pretty efficient. Probably didn't need the clay claw for that material but will come in real handy up at the claim next summer. I hope to try out a few more ideas I have this winter. Thanks Chris.
Love the video. Just wondering if your buddy has issues with the 3/8 barrel holes getting clogged with round gravel? I would say 25% of my holes end up with small round gravel stuck in them after running for an hour and I cannot seem to get them out by tapping the barrel.
@@48thstateprospecting No he was using gold hog mats that came with the trommel. We will be switching them out with my new high flow mat that will be out soon.
I wish I knew you were going to Zortman Alan, I would have meet you there. That is where I go prospecting. It's BLM ground. I was thinking of getting one of the gold fox high bankers, are they as good as the trommel? Any way looks like you found good gold. Let me know next time when you come over I'd love to join you if you would like the company!
Yes I will let you know next time we go over that would have been fun this was our first time but will be going back again for sure. I have never ran the gold fox high banker before so not much help there.
Hope your winter is going well. I look forward to getting into the club this summer. I'm a few hours away from ya but hope to see you this spring/summer!
Beautiful territory up that way. Can’t wait to make it back some day. Thanks for the gold fix Alan.
You bet. Thanks for watching.
The snow word..... 👍🏻
Getting close here !!!!
We had some flurries here today!! Too early...
@evergreen prospectors 🤣
Yep six months of it.

Great place! We were there about a week before you were, and did well. The gold is mostly stained there, but good flakes! Thanks!
First time over there, we had a blast and hope to be going back next year. Thanks for watching.
I've had kind box crew cab 02 f350 back to the big wash out, no problems

Nice take, Allen! I imagine that Zortmann(?) Is a worthwhile alternative, being "not so far from Home"!! God Bless,& Good Luck!

You got Alan to toss one for me on the beach! Lol

Good job
Thanks
That is a nice haul well done how did your friend do I bet his mats didn’t catch as much as yours lol thx for sharing see you on the next one👍🏻👊🏻
Good question! I haven't seen what he got yet. He said we got more than he did but we also had two people running our setup.
@@alanrobertson2510 that is true but I also didn’t see your mats in his set up did he have them? That could be the reason 😉

Good day Alan.
Hello there! I bet it's getting cold up there to.
@@alanrobertson2510 we should be getting a little snow soon , I've got my skis waxed and ready to jump off of a few mountains.
Hi Alan, Can you use gas motors in Zortmam?
Yes you could when I was over there. Merry Christmas.
It was 20$ a day just to mine. The restaurant is awesome. Dredging is twice as productive.
Thanks for the info.
was there last summer 2021, they charged me $45 a day
Good gold mining video
Bob, why rob yourself? You made the effort and drove a long way..take the time to level your sluice!
Looks like your just about on the boundary of the ft. Belknap Indian reservation
id drive my my 4 door diesel pick up all over in there. and id put money id do just fine
Go for it. Have fun

So far winter is to long already. See you in the spring we can usually get to the claim by mid April.
