this is teh reason i feel steel tip is superior.... bull, bull, bull, bull, bull, bull, ect. in soft tip you rarely need to change targets cause the darts straight out after entering the board regardless of the throw. and those trip and double beds are double the size steel.
+NickandSteph418 True that soft tip boards are tremendously huge and are 'easier' to play, but then again because of this, it really is a case of "let's see who misses the target first". Even the pros are prone to the occasional miss, and may or may not get punished by their opponent if they manage to seize the chance. I dunno about you but this real quick-draw style of play is really exciting to watch and an even greater joy to play yourself. Couple that with being able to play online with players from all around the world and you've got a lifetime of enjoyment. I mean come on, try playing steel tip darts online with webcams and a chalk board. It's gonna be boring as hell.
Just saying, soft tip darts have their own charm, and at the end of the day it's still a sport of darts. We as dart players should not be elitists and just enjoy all variations of them no?

i play soft tip too when needed, just saying i feel steel is superior and more skillful. if i get a choice, its steel tip 10 out of 10 times.

I play both and I agree, soft tip is easier, I mean...its still challenging. But Steel tip is the old school way I grew up on.
Carver is hard to watch with the resetting all the time.
