While packing tonight, I stumbled across my scrapbook I was putting together with my ex from 4.5 years ago and little cards and letters she wrote me. This is such a beautiful song. It's about two people learning to love each other not in in spite of their demons, but in an effort to fight them together. So much of love is working on yourself, trying to be better. And it's scary going into a relationship when it looks like you're a mess and they're perfect. Her Watsky is telling his lover that it's ok, they're not so different after all, and they both deserve to be loved through their hardships.

I’ve never had a song connect with me so deeply until I heard this, I’ve been going through a very difficult time mentally for the past year and listening to this makes me feel like I’m not alone. Some of the lines almost exactly describe what I’ve been going through to the point where I’d skip the song when it would come up on my playlist because it’d upset me when I heard it. Now I realize it’s meant to address the listener, about how you need to grow up and accept help from others even when you don’t want to, and that you should let yourself be loved.
