I've been watching and enjoying your videos ahead of our imminent trip to Wales. Your presentation is so helpful and down to earth and your catch rates are very impressive. We usually fish Chesil around this time of year but it's not what it was. We used to fish for species and I have records showing that we often had a dozen species in a 5 hour session with 16 species being the best. Now it's so slow in comparison and the variety is much harder to find. We always found the Masonic end best for larger bream and some cracking wrasse but since the big storm it's not been the same. I hope your drive home is a good one.
Hi John, thanks for watching. It’s the first time either of us fished up that end so we were happy with the results. The drive home wasn’t great on a bank holiday weekend. Almost 5 hours instead of 2:45 but worth it in the long run. Hope you have a good trip to Wales and catch a few fish.
@@BanditFishingUK If it was your first time there you'll probably be amazed to think that waves went over that shingle into the car parks and road behind. There is video of that big storm on u tube. I think it ripped away a lot of seabed and kelp. It's still an awesome beach to fish though and it always has the potential to produce something special.
Thanks Kevin, I was glad to have a few fish out this time and it’s probably one of my most enjoyable sessions I’ve had this year. Still getting hang of the drone but it’s incredible to see things from a different perspective.
Lovely video lads!! I've never been to Chesil before I'm in 2 minds weathere it's worth the trip down. Yes it's an iconic beach to fish but im 50/50 but great video tho really enjoyed the drone footage awesome stuff. Take care tight lines 🎣🎣🎣
Thanks Stephen we try to do a few different styles and approaches to shore fishing it helps us enjoy the variety and keeps you thinking. Glad you’re enjoying them.
Can't wait mate I think I'm heading down the 2nd of October to meet up with the blind angler as long as the weather is good lads so if your up for it 👍
Thanks so much for the vids. Really enjoy them. I am heading down to cogden tomorrow for some plaice (hopefully!). I need to invest in a head torch. Any recommendations? What do you use? Thanks again for the content. Tight lines.
Hi, we both use LED Lenser headlamps. 14.2R is the one we both like the best. Good luck down cogden plenty of fish have shown on the big beach the past few days.
Hi both awesome video thinking of trying for the cod in december .. just wondered where you lads get quality bait from as there's nothing over my way .... cynon valley
Hi Alan, Rhondda Tackle located Trebanog is a good shop. He stocks all sorts of frozen bait and probably has some of the best black lug in South Wales.
Hi mate, they’re a summer fish but I’m not sure when they turn off and when they move away. I know they’re about in July and august and still showing now.
@@BanditFishingUK I’m down that way next week so hopefully get the rods out for a go myself. Random question to Lloyd, did you fish as a junior for Wales in the home nations?

Hi bud ...from rhondda ...was wondering if the bream are all year round or just summer there please?
Hi mate, they’re a summer fish but I’m not sure when they turn off and when they move away. I know they’re about in July and august and still showing now.
Ohh cheers mate ....looking at going next summer ...can u park overnight there in car park?
Yes butty, plenty of parking think we paid £8 for 24hours in the Portland carpark.
@@BanditFishingUK brilliant mate ...thanks ,hopefully see you down there 1 day mate 👍
allways fish on portland end deepest mark on chesil but fish right in front of the pub good wrass bream john dory
Sorry Phil and loyd I just sore this video how long a rig did you use for the mackerel.
Is that from your live you did a few weeks ago? 🎣
Hi Ian, yes it’s the same session but different footage.
Sorry Phil and loyd I just sore this video Phil how Long a rig were you using for the mackerel. What rig did you use.
Hi mate. When Phil was picking up the mackerel on the bottom I think he was using a 2 hook Wessex with snoods about 3 foot long and pop ups.
no pop ups for the bream?
Hi buddy, yes I used pink silicone pop ups on the short flapper and Phil used some on longer snoods too.
nice one lads
Thanks Pete 👍🏼
Where abouts on Chesil was this guys?
We fished Portland end mate. Much easier to walk on with bigger stones 👍
@@BanditFishingUK I’m down that way next week so hopefully get the rods out for a go myself. Random question to Lloyd, did you fish as a junior for Wales in the home nations?
I certainly did Scott and had 1 year as a youth. Fished Folkestone and Holyhead as a junior then somewhere in Scotland as a youth. Did you fish?
@@BanditFishingUK I thought it was you haha. Yeah I fished holyhead and Montrose in Scotland as well.
