Thanks for this! I just bought the pattern. I’ll need to shrink it, but I love the way this looks! I think it will be perfect for this travel bag I’m working on.
Have watched quite a few videos about sewing cargo pockets. But, yours is the easiest to follow to me. And, i feel like I can make a cargo pocket in any size i should need. It would also make a good interior pocket for a purse. I forget if you've done any, but, could you please show us how to make a three compartment tote bag with interoir and exterior pockets if you haven't, already ? I appreciate your help and advice. Love your channel. Take care.
The next level move is to machine sew the pocket onto the garment from the inside. It's really tricky to do, but possible! Makes a super clean look if you sew the pocket itself from a front panel and boxed sides so that there's almost no stitching visible from the right side.
Just caught up with this 2weeks later. If anyone has any ideas- What weight of denim would work best for this? I have an idea for a 80s/90s frayed edge cargo pocket. Would a traditional ( like Levi's 501 non-stretch) denim be too heavy for this; or should I consider a lighter weight? I am considering this for a floor length cargo skirt for shop work and would like the 501 style/weight denim for the plans.
I love your channel and all the helpful tips, thank you so much~ Anthony from Arizona
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching :)
