    Here is my last question at 4:42 your saying your lining your body up a little thicker here is where I’m getting lost. If your lining your body up thicker doesn’t that mean your not hitting the cue ball at the 1/2 ball spot on object ball? I understand how the left english throws the object ball to the right, so just where are you aiming your tip? Steve

      Not sure how I missed this question! Sorry. What I'm doing with the shot at 4:42 is aiming through the left side of the cb (outside english) to the edge of the ob. So I'm still using the halfball reference point. But instead of coming lining up through center cb, I am moving my body slightly to the left, aiming at the halfball ball aim point through the left side of the cb (a half tip of top left english). The shot looks thicker from this perspective, but I know, at the speed I use, the ball will hit the pocket and the cb will come off the cushion and go left.

    I bought your book. I feel like I have the answers to the test. Anyways. This worked for me. CJWiley video said on a half ball shot for example if you add let’s say 1/4 inside English then now aim at the object ball at 3/4 shot and the compensation works. If you have a 3/4 shot w 1/4 inside now you would be aiming straight at the object ball. I hope I’m explaining this right and have the fractions correct. But it seems to work.

      @@elicortez7207 yes! That's exactly how you do it. But the actual amount of aim difference really depends on the speed you're using. It's good to try to play most shots with a consistent medium speed. This makes the english shots more consistent. When shooting harder or softer than normal, you'll have to aim a little differently, but with practice that'll become more consistent also.

    Brian I’m back hurt my back have not taken a shot in 2 months. I need to watch these 2 videos of yours on aiming with English about 5 times each before I ask my questions. For now, if you were going to buy a new shaft only, I take it to be a Mezz which model would YOU buy? If I get one I want the same one you would get? I want the same model I don’t like buying junk. I’ll be back for you answer your friend steve from Seattle.

      Any low deflection Mezz shaft plays great. But, honestly, the name brand of the shaft is really just a matter of personal preference. I mean, a cheap low deflection shaft will play just as nice as an expensive one. I would buy a Mezz shaft because that's the cue brand that I like.
      Mezz has several shaft options, ranging from $250 to $600. EBay is great place to find a good deal on a Mezz WD-700 or WD-900, or a WX-700 or WX-900, or the Mezz Hybrid shaft. The 700 and 900 probably go for around $200 or less. Great shafts.

    Brian does a predator 314 3rd generation maple shaft, with a joint size of 5/16 by 18 and a 12.75 tip size is this a great low deflection shaft? I cannot decide between it, or the cuetec .
    Cynergy ct 15k with the some joint size, the tip sizes are 11.8 and 12.75. I have only played with a 13 mm I’m just wondering if the 11.8 tip isn’t as forgiving if your aim is off just a pinch. Which one the cynergy 15 k or 314 it’s your decision, I have nobody else to ask. Thanks stephen

      I think you'll love the Predator 314, 12.75mm. It's a great LD shaft, not as low deflection as a carbon fiber type, but not that much different either.

    Brian, what Mezz shaft do you use WD-700 or the WD-900 or a WX700 or the WX900 the amount of money does not matter. What do you like the best! Steve

    Hi Brian what gets me is, if you aim with 1/2 tip of outside English and stroke the ball easy, why do we have to aim a little thicker? If we aim a little thicker isn’t that because of deflextion?

    • @Poolology101
      @Poolology101  Рік тому

      It really depends on your specific shaft. At slower speeds, deflection is minimal, but the outside english throws the ob pretty well (in the direction of the cut).

    Brian it’s Steve I’ve been practicing a lot and I think I’m doing very good. My question is what kind of tip do you use hard or soft and what brand, mine is shot.

    Are you going to start calling a half ball a 4 and a quarter ball a 2 like Marty?

    • @Poolology101
      @Poolology101  Рік тому

      Marty? Marty who? I've been doing that for a while. I like it.
      I have a friend that calls the 8th aim lines by the numbers, 0 through 7, and he has me doing it now. 0 is straight in, 7 is a thin 1/8 aim. I wish I would've done that with the Poolology book, rather than use the fractional figures.

    • @Poolology101
      @Poolology101  Рік тому

      Yeah, some people like more explaining and some people don't. I try not to over-explain, but I don't do a very good job of it sometimes.
