Thank you. Great info. I have injured my bicep and shoulder several times. Not warming up before heavy exercise or just abuse. I have started some internal and external work but I will go back and work the muscle and tendon more and the stretches.

I have played a ton of pickleball and injured the tendons and ligaments in my right shoulder. Ouch. Terrible sleeping but I can feel myself getting better, I have physio I go to and have had Shockwave to mixed results, but I do like what your suggesting, thank you for providing them to use...Pickleball has a ton of injuries happening, so its good to know where you can receive good advice.
4:27 Thoughts on bands vs dumbbells on training the external rotator cuff? What's your thought on this. Do you prefer one over the other. Or both are fine?
@@ritmolatino1627 I like the dumbbells better. The bands have only the tension on the point of peak contraction. The dumbbells give tension along the whole rep. I do like my RB Handgrippers though, those are also spring tension. Totally different muscles ofcourse...
@@ritmolatino1627 It's the dumbbell flyes that messes with tendons in my right front of the shoulder. For at least 5 years now. I'm going to delete that one. It's a long lasting issue. I have dropper more exercises before. To name a few, the barbell squat(low back), barbell/dumbbell pullover(elbow+shoulder), lying triceps extensions(elbows). Even side raises(impingement even with thumbs up). For the typical problems they cause. I've been working out for 30 years (age 57 in january). Some things are to be left behind and better to do other exercises that won't give problems. Push ups are still fine (knock on wood), Bulgarian split squat, without weight these days, I used to do barbell 100kg for 10 reps. 1 arm dumbbell rows, also another fine exercise. You have to do what you're still able to do, without getting joint problems..

Nice video. I was feeling pain in the right arm when I straighten it and then supinate. So I started working on golfer's elbow exercises. Now I'm wondering if I have bicep tendonitis.
Mine turned into tendinosis. Which is annoying b/c i can't find any videos online on tendinosiis (only tendinitis). MRI says it's mainly supraspinatus tendinosis on bursal side (with fraying) and small amout nof infraspinatus tendinosis too

i'm an avid archer and lift weights daily. My left shoulder been barking like mad. Thought it to be shoulder. Now convinced it's bicep related on account while bow hunting,climbing a ladder and descending, it barks like hell. You 2 finger illustration put the area or root of the pain direct under my fingers. Rubbed it hard, and she loosened up. I'm in shock right now. Do they make a massager specifically for these little areas or should I just get it worked on ? I'm looking to simply get it loosened up to bench press and incline press. Slightly bothers me doing shoulder presses,not too bad like incline presses.
I now get with the youthful physique. There is never any aging. I know because according to the clock on the wall, time never moves. It remains unchanged video after video.

I also had inner elbow pain for a few weeks. You probably lift / curl too much weight and your forearms are not strong enough, so your biceps has to do all the heavy lifting wich puts too much stress on your elbow. If you still have pain, stop doing biceps curls for a week or two, and do some forearm strengthening. If pain gets less, start curls again but with lighter weight. You don't need surgery usually, unless you completely ripp off your biceps from the bone, which you will notice because then your biceps will look like a ball of muscles and not work properly anymore. You want to avoid that if possible.

Dr. Kristie Ennis for about the past month now I've been noticing some pretty significant pain in the right should which is my computer mouse arm. Right about the spot where you were "rubbing across the tendon". It doesn't seem to respond to massage either like the way say for example my knotted trapezius muscles do. Not sure what it is and it's not bad enough to go to the doctor yet but is annoying and well obviously a bit painful. Could be related to constant repetitious use of the mouse I bet huh?
So I've also had bicep tendonitis pain for about half a year. I didn't do any sport that could damage it and I've flattered myself. Nevertheless, the healing process has been taking a long time and I don't know what to do. That's why I tried this exercise I've been doing this exercise for two days now and before I started this exercise I had very little pain when I pressed the tendon. But after the two days I felt more pain. Is that a part of the healing process or should I stop. ?
With biceps tendonitis even when I avoid pain while training I often "feel it" a couple hours after the fact and then it's time for bed. This is an injury that doesn't "sleep well". Which of these modalities do you think is best after training and before bed? Also, would you recommend some light cross friction massage before training? I'm not tolerating pressing all that well and training for a powerlifting competition, so being able to train and recover is extremely helpful. Thanks for the awesome video!!

I have bicep tendinosis in my right arm, and it has flared up badly over the last couple of months. Thing is I have no trouble doing bicep curls but the act of chopping onions puts me into a world of hurt. What is that all about?
I think I hurt multiple upper bicep when I was playing baseball. I just felt a deep pain in that part of my shoulder. I can pinpoint it when I supenate my arm and get under that shoulder muscle.
You are the dangerous combination of intelligent, educated, athletic, and hot. Thanks for this video, I will use it to improve my tendonitis (I am more than half way there to recovery). I will buy that tool you used in the beginning: looks useful for digging deep into the tissue.
You should use some baby oil on the skin to make the scrapping easier and not to worry about opening up the skin from the scrapping. My tendonitis where you show is pure hell for the past months. Very hard to get of the pain even with how show how to help get rid of it. I can't even do a pushup without collapsing to the floor.
The cross friction massage instantly made my shoulder pain feel better!

Absolutely! I frequently see shoulder, elbow, and wrist issues (and they often go together) from keyboard and mouse work.

Pain should never be part of the equation. It sounds like a good idea to have this checked in person.

Great questions! I do think some light cross friction as well as fascial release would be a good idea before training. You might even want to try some kinesiotape before working out to see if that helps. See if this helps:)

I have bicep tendinosis in my right arm, and it has flared up badly over the last couple of months. Thing is I have no trouble doing bicep curls but the act of chopping onions puts me into a world of hurt. What is that all about?
Is it definitely biceps tendinitis? Could it be the brachialis or something else going on?

I think I hurt multiple upper bicep when I was playing baseball. I just felt a deep pain in that part of my shoulder. I can pinpoint it when I supenate my arm and get under that shoulder muscle.

You should use some baby oil on the skin to make the scrapping easier and not to worry about opening up the skin from the scrapping. My tendonitis where you show is pure hell for the past months. Very hard to get of the pain even with how show how to help get rid of it. I can't even do a pushup without collapsing to the floor.
