    Anyone reading this, I used to suffer from 24/7 intense derealization. The way I got better was by unconditional acceptance. You must stop analyzing and ruminating in your head entirely. It will take practice but you will get better at just letting your thoughts and feelings be whatever they are and not engaging or even caring what your brain throws up. Doing this overtime will cause your symptoms to start dropping one by one, and eventually dpdr will go away too. My personal opinion is that dpdr is caused by long term intense obsessive thinking and fear. If you think about it you have had dpdr symptoms for small instances in your past when you didn’t have this issue. I used to feel dpdr after studying hard for hours in school, but never feared the feeling because I just thought it meant I was tired. I believe it is a function of our brain when it is tired of intense thinking all day. If you have 24/7 like I did, it’s likely that you spend hours self analyzing and worrying everyday. Just my advice for anyone out there still suffering. BE LAZY WITH YOUR THOUGHTS, DONT GIVE THEM TOO MUCH ATTENTION OR FOCUS.

      Cristy Lopez i might feel some slight dpdr maybe once every few weeks, but it goes away after a few minutes. I notice it comes back for a few minutes when I have a stressful day with not enough sleep. But I don’t even notice it most of the time now.

      Hey, I can relate to this about 5 years ago I only had dpdr if I was doing something new or if it was raining/cloudy and thinking about the feeling. About 3 years ago it came over me that I felt it bad being in the car only then now I have it all the time and it’s even worst in the car travelling still. I can’t stop thinking about how I feel and how life feels so unreal. Not long ago i had a bad panic attack I just don’t know how to accept it

At that time I also was also stressed out from starting a new job that causes so much anxiety. Once i kept my brain busy by reading books, meditation etc one day I noticed I didn’t obsess anymore with unreality feelings

    Swamy, I want to thank you so much for your free sessions, years ago. You were a true blessing, when no one knew what I was dealing with you were there in the midst of fears and awful thoughts. Although I would like to share something that completely took away every single symptom I was dealing with and it was truly believing in the following Bible verse: John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
    As humans we have fears of death, the afterlife, the spiritual realm. You will find so many answers to what you have been looking for in this single verse, my kind friend. Love and blessings being sent your way

      When you compare your DP/DR with others, you will always end up feeling miserable. Forget about them, you are different. Also, ppl get stuck for that long because they lack the right guidance, or they don't put effort into their recovery. Remember belief #2: Your body and brain know how to heal themselves. Comparing your DP/DR with others is putting unnecessary pressure on yourself.

    I had a bad trip on weed it felt like my brain was on fire, it was painful and crazy, within three weeks I was ok and started to get back to normal I had a sugar buzz and it triggered a panic/anxiety attack as soon as I calmed down I went to sleep the next day i had a panic attack but for literally no reason, I didnt have a sugar buzz or anything😥 I just kept getting paranoid every night and one night I got paranoid and thought my brain was forgetting how to breath and I got so paranoid I lost my consciousness and I called 911 it was so scary and I still kind of feel that way the guy at the doctors told me a bunch of lies he wouldn't let me explain anything he would talk over me he sent me home paranoid with my consciousness still gone. Ever since that doctor visit I have felt like I'm living a dream my brain feels light and my memory is bad I cant remember what happens through the day my whole past is like forgotten I just wanna heal I am going to be patient tho I know for a fact it is dpdr

I keep thinking I don't know who i am and its hard to feel a connection to myself. But it seems easier since i started watching this guys videos. I had this 18-19 bad- I used to think I was dead after a couple of failed suicides. I had that belief for many months it turned into year I had DP/DR but it eventually went away. Hey swamy G, I notice you have a lot of musical stuff in the background. After getting hit hard with dpdr In march, the most disturbing effect for me so far is that I currently feel nothing for music at the moment. Music has been my #1 love my whole life. Even with depression music was my 1 escape and comfort. Dpdr has taken all my comfort at the moment. I trust I will get through this. Did you go through these wierd feelings of detachment from music? Thank you for all that you do.

    • @RealSwamyG
      @RealSwamyG 4 роки тому +2

      You are right, a few people I've talked to do feel disconnected from music, something that brought them joy before DP/DR. I didn't experience this going through DP/DR. Music was my refuge during those times.
      I think in the case of trauma-induced DP/DR, the higher-order functions and emotional processing areas of the brain tend to get shut down. I believe you may require higher-order and emotional processing to enjoy music which may not be available during such times. But when your DP/DR heals, all of those return, so don't worry.
      Are you able to concentrate and understand logic, science, math, and complex/abstract ideas? Are you able to feel emotions such as joy, love, connection? Or have those abilities been compromised as well?

    • @yung_777drones7

      Music has been my safe place for my whole life until this, The only thing I've been able to feel since march is terror and anxiety.. I haven't been able to comprehend much it's been a nightmare. It's frustrating that my family doesnt understand and they're mad that I'm not being productive. And its creeping me out that every one feels like strangers and the love and connection I felt my whole life is just cold.
