Only in Greek/European (and Japanese to an extent) culture are owls associated with wisdom. In almost every other culture on Earth (including Native American), owls are usually seen as harbiners of death, guardians of the underworld or the evil spirits of the dead. This arrangement and the image certainly does justice to that.
There's an old tradition where I live (Quebec Canada) that says if you see or hear a Barn owl, you have to kill him before it goes away or you will die in the next days.
I don't know why, out of all the random things I've seen on the internet in over 2 decades, this video caught me completely off guard. It is such a random idea. Thank you for this well made menace.
Dude, this slaps. Its great music. Just picture it... Think of the person who's been guiding you and your ragtag band of misfit friends throughout nearly all of your adventuring career's so far. Jack Winters Grimsby. Such as dropping hints about secret paths they could take sometimes, hiding answers to their problems in clever word play they had to unweave, and occasionally even just flat out leading you, and your party, to special locations, some starting with mediocre importance, a few odd ones, usually places that either lead to great treasure or items needed for their quests, and the couple times the gang nearly met their makers most times its was on purpose, some it was on accident. A few nearly killed everyone. Those now made sense, as it finally turns out he was a bad guy and backstabs you after clearing the way to what he really wanted...
The Power of the organ, I recommend going to watch a performance of one that's as big as the building, life changing. Now imagine an other worldly instrument playing a chorus that uses every single aspect of nature to make the sound music,
You've finally tracked down the evil owl priest and must listen to this while you do a cathedral-themed dungeon for 30 minutes just to get to the last room where he waits, ominously, on his perch.
Oh geeze, this musicpiece gives me the creeps! It's beautiful! But also kind of haunting and it makes me worried for my back now if I ever don't listen to him...
Ooh this is so sinister. The really plot twist would have been if the villain wasn't Ganon. IT WAS KAEPORA GAEBORA. You get to the end, and it's like it's me, Link. Gives his spiel. Then asks if you'd like to hear it again, because that was probably one of the most evil things in the whole game to put No first as the answer choice XD. "Did you get all that?"
When you select "No" after being asked "Did you get all that?".
Omg yes xD
Secret boss battle unlocked
Did you get all that? Or do you want me to repeat all of it again?
Then the real end game boss appears
"You will listen to my advice, Link. If you try to skip it, I WILL know."
He could be the last boss in OoT 😂 with this theme song
The greatest villain in The Legend of Zelda games - Kaepora Gaebora.
Thou hadst brokenest many "A" buttons, foul beast!
@@JustInPassing3 and then he morphs into his true form for the final battle's second phase

Ironically crows are the ACTUAL wise birds and they are seen as harbingers of death in the Western world.
Well, death and wisdom go hand in hand in a sense.
Greek has it both ways, screech owls being a symbol of the Lord of the Underworld, Hades.

@@thomasdesrochers9241 wtf y’all just killing birds for no reason?
What would we be without Kaepora Gaebora giving us encouragement... "You'll find many hardships in your path but don't be discouraged"

This sounds like a theme that'd play inside Hyrule Castle while it's taken over by Ganon/Ganondorf.
ahem...
you mean kaepora gaebora and his nefarious legion of never-ending dialogue blocks, right?
Basically the song mice and voles hear whenever an owl looks at them with its big ominous immovable eyes.
Jesus christ, that owl is menacing.
*Bane of Button Mashing*
*KAEPORA GAEBORA*
HAIL OWL KING! BURN ALL WHO DEFY IN HIS GLORY! DOST THOU BOW TO HIS MIGHTY GAZE? SAY "Hail!" IF THOU FOLLOW!
way to make the poor owl sound like an end boss villian

Rauru had you collect all of the Sage Medallions so he could use them to defeat Ganon himself, and claim Hyrule as his own.
Sinister. Sorrowful. Beautiful. How interesting. Never thought something once so pure could sound corrupted all of a sudden.

RIP Kaepora Gaebora, spoke for too long

I'm getting final fantasy last dungeon vibes from this song especially FF8's

Wow excellent version, congratulations
Kaepora Gaepora is finally Villain in Master of Time and Time Lost, two hack roms of Zelda OOT
Well that was beyond amazing, not sure if there's much to say other than that.
If Kaepora Gaebora turned out to be the final boss instead of Ganondorf:
Wow!
The song that plays when Ganon turns into an owl instead of pig Ganon
"did you get all that?"
>no
死
Very intimidating, nice!
You made him badass lmao
OMG it's sooooo amazing
has anyone never played the game but just came for this?
Did you get all that?
> No
> No
> Yes
You should do Ganon's Castle and also Ultimate Koopa
Sounds more like a Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy Final boss fight
Is like the presentation of bayonetta celestial enemies
this plays when he's a boss you have to fight

Can I have a sheet please ?
This is the song that plays as I emerge from my coccoon and sit on my thrown.
GEEZ! what did u do to him?!?!
What Organ did you use to make this? Sounds pretty good.
+Turtwig Champion thanks! Every note is a fat stack of a bunch of different sounds, different organs, some chorale stuff, possibly strings.
Great thanks.
Now I regret insulting him before...
