I think you should also have taken into account the price of the speaker stands and cables. Audio gear can be deceptively costly, with some speaker stands retailing for well over $300 a pair. Cables are their own story too. By the time you add up every little bit, it's clear that the soundbar as a package is at least cheaper.
Every solid structure needs a strong foundation. Add a sub to the plus and once sennheriser release rear speakers it's going to be an OP unit
I am just waiting on rear speakers now. If they're upfiring this thing will be a powerhouse and it will allow us to turn off Ambeo mode to receive a true surround experience vs virtual. Ambeo mode is impressive but having come from a true system, I can tell it's faking things. I can't wait to be able to turn it off and have the raw sound.

Is the sound quality of music and songs bad as other reviews mentioned?
The said the JBL Bar 1000 is great for atmos surround movies but terrible for music.
Is that true?
These sound bars are designed to for surround sound and effects overall, but most folks do enjoy them for both movies and music. From there though, you could consider a separate dedicated listening system for music. That's a popular route these days, especially for vinyl.

Hope you can help me with this question. I have owned this bar for a few months now. However, I noticed that when the Ambeo mode is off, it disables the centre speaker. (Front Left and Right remains ON). Is this a normal behaviour? Thanks
The surround format can affect this option. From there, you may also want to double check your Sound Profiles settings. If you got the sound bar here, you can also give our Tech Support a call. Their direct number is on your invoice.
I was looking for an alternative to replace my aging Jensen theatre system, so i did a heap of research on high end sound bars, after seeing many reviews i finally decided on the Sennheiser ambeo plus. I was absolutely blown away by the quality and dynamics of this very compact unit, the beauty of it also is that if you already own a Sub you can plug it right in to the bar, unlike other's.
I highly recommend the plus to anyone considering a quality alternative to a full surround system.

@crutchfield Yes, I connected my existing Jensen QX80 powered Sub to the bar. It's only 160W RMS, but it is more than enough to make for that real cinema feel, and it complements the plus nicely 👍

The main sticking point to consider with these all in one bars is the configuration of the room it is going to be placed in.
That's a huge factor for sure.
@crutchfield biggest mistake was not hooking up a sub. I get the purpose was to keep the price equal but I guarantee had you put the sub, your comment about ambeo not being as full on the bass wouldn't have been said
Can you compare the max vs the plus sennheiser?
Wwe are happhy to help compare them for you .The audio from the Ambeo Max is more room filling and works in larger room. This is because it comes with a few more drivers built in which add to its output levels and helping push the audio around the room. Also, the Ambeo Max uses a ported cabinet which also helps make it play better than the Plus.

That would be a fun one, too.
The Plus is the newer product and looks to be the start of a new family, with the mini also included. I imagine a new Max is coming in the future and rear speakers to pair with all 3 systems.

With the Ambeo soundbar, you can hook up a wired subwoofer or a wireless if you want! The Ambeo rocks when you add a sub!😍
