This video must have flown under my radar! Very cool to see you compare your version against the original. It sounds like it stacks up very well indeed. Top job. Cheers mate
Tried my Tripel Clone last night which I loosely based on your recipe, it has been bottle conditioned for five months so had to try it! Mine finished at 8.6%ABV and it was a nice drop indeed! Very clear and bright with good carbonation. I doubt it tastes like the one you brewed as I used Hallertauer Mittlefruh hops but it could be close. Think I will now leave it another few months before I try another. Cheers my mate for giving me the idea to brew it. By the way I enjoyed watching the Jim Payne memorial brew day on Saturday. Thanks to all of you great guys.
Nice! I was quite sceptical about the yeast at first, I didn't expect the mead yeast to give the same taste as a regular Belgian yeast. The yeast is quite a prominent taste-maker in these beer styles. The clarity and carbonation will hopefully come with age. What was the FG? Nice brew in the end!
+beer man yeah overall it was pretty good flavour Wise was really close but as I said in the video the mouthfeel was a little lighter on the clone so if I did it again I probably up the oats a little more but otherwise it's pretty good cheers mate
+beer man also from memory, the recipe said to prime with candy syrup (which I didn't do - I used dextrose). This also may have given a little more body. Check the recipe that I linked in the description. Good luck and let me know how it goes if you brew it!
+J B unfortunately it's almost impossible to get a real tripel Karmeliet these days for side by side comparison but from memory, there is still the differences mentioned in this vid. However, my clone is now properly carbbed. Seems a little sweeter than the real TK. Still goes down an absolute treat.
+J B yeh, it's a pretty good one. It's pretty involved with the largering and conditioning, and the yeast and Candi syrup were tricky to get, but results were good so who cares. Cheers
Great job on the cloned or not cloned @stassbrewing and glad to have been of service on supply of the #candisyrup you also know where to go to find @gladfieldmalt #americanale #malt and #motuere (formerly known as #Brooklyn) @nzhops for that #smash beer - keep up the great work #brewhappy www.beerco.com.au/

Brewdog - Cocoa Psycho
It tastes as you would imagine, not quite as strong as your other suggestions, but it's warmed my winter a few times. =D
Mate, finally got round to brewing this bad boy. Ingredients in the mail

Nice brew in the end!
+J B Cheers. FG was 1.010. I was also surprised about the yeast.

How is the clone going? Did the taste changed much as it aged?

Well, that is what matters in the end! There are a lot of brews I want to do and this recipe is certainly one of them.

Interested in getting a copy of the recipe.
Can you email me?
