Once my nanand started explaining u should keep ur room clean and respect my mom even if she disrespects u, u should ignore and adjust as u have come in our house, u should follow our rules. I do the same way with my mother in law. I replied, firstly how to keep my room is my and husband's personal matter. No third person is allowed to interfere, neither u or ur mother. Secondly, if ur mom disrespects me, don't ever expect me to ignore her torture n mockery just bcuz she is born before me. I believe in give respect n take respect, live n let live. Thirdly, I am not an object or a servent that was married to treat me the way u all want. In fact, we gave u the dowry. If that's how ur thinking is then I have bought ur brother by paying him the dowry. And lastly, this isn't ur father's house. This is my husband's house. He has taken the responsibilities of the entire family which were meant to taken by ur lazy, drunkard and unsuccessful father who never earned enough to take care of his family. Also, if not in ur culture, but in our culture the couple relationship stands at top in the hierarchy of all other relationships and it is so according to the law and indian society. Lord Shiva's name is taken with his wife Parvati, not his parents or siblings. In a ritual or Pooja, a wife sits with the husband, not his mum or siblings. Of course, blood relations are valuable too but not more than a wife. A wife is called Ardhangini. So, if anyone of u dare create differences between me n my husband for ur financial insecurities as u always ask for kharchi/ gifts from ur brother, u will find me in between. Mothers in law and sisters/brothers in law who are financially dependent on the son will always try n create a rift between the couples cuz of their financial insecurities. They are ok to get the son divorced. Basically, parents too have become selfish and dont realise that after they die the son will be left alone. If a Casanova, how long his youth last? And by chance got remarried, then it's the repeat telecast. And the siblings dont help after they settle in their lives. It's only the wife who's thr by a man's side till the end. And men who dont agree with me take ur own mom's example. I'm sure neither ur paternal grandparents nor ur chachas n buas were there in ur father's downfall. I'm sure it was only ur mother who stood by ur father in majority of cases. i have told my husband if u want me to share ur parents' responsibilities then u must share my parents' responsibilities too. After all they too have taken equal efforts to raise me, infact much more.
