That was great, Kevin! At 63, and full-time caregiver to my wife, getting out to make a photo is my key to sanity. I don't need those iconic shots. Just the opportunity to find joy.
Iconic is relative. We can get on a plane and head over to a national park and take the photos everyone else is doing. Or find iconic shots that bring joy in our every day lives that everyone ignores right under our feet in the ordinary. Blessings to you and your family.
I have enjoyed your last videos on getting out for yourself. While not 41 anymore, I shall soon be 78 and every opportunity I get I am out looking for birds to photograph. While it is not so easy to get down and up anymore, I do my best to keep doing the things that help make a photograph great. Just two days ago I managed 8 km (5 miles) carrying my camera backpack. Hopefully I will get a shot or two that are keepers but never the less I had a great day out observing nature.
Gotta keep moving. Thanks for the encouragement. I know I'm changing up my content lately to be less Photography. I guess I'm just evolving as a photographer and just as a person. Blessings.
Point well made. I’m 63 and in my 49th year of having to work. Yes I started at 14 in a family managed business for those doing math. I am finding myself working just as much now as any time in my life. It is absolutely imperative for mental health to have some kind of outlet to escape what has become the increasing insanity of this time we are living in. Getting time to do much of anything I want to do is becoming more challenging as there are not nearly enough of us in the current workforce to shoulder the load. Wildlife/nature photography is my escape. I would be in trouble without it. So glad you made this video.
Another nice one Kevin. I'll be 72 soon and more than ever I am certain I have all the time in the world, and will every day find a way to get out into nature; even if it only in my own back yard.
I'll be 82 years old in a few weeks and I've been involved in photography since 1961. But I never felt the love of it like I did after I finally realized several years ago that I'm only going to shoot the things that appeal to me. I do it for me now and the number of people who like my work has gone up dramatically with my own satisfaction in doing what I love.
Thanks for the continuous motivation! Let’s not forget why we started this journey and not get sidetracked by fame or seek attention which don’t last long.
I recently deleted all social media including Instagram. UA-cam is my only platform now because I was being heavily influenced and somewhat fell into the trap of losing my identity as a photographer. I wouldn't even have UA-cam honestly if I didn't like telling stories and sharing them. Thanks for watching.
This is a great video. Don't let yourself get to old too quick. I took some advice from a 98 year old man who is still going strong. He said keep moving. I am. I'm still walking as much as I can. I had a neat experience today. Linda had a doctor's appointment and after the appointment we went to the New York Fries in he mall. I know the one guy that's still working there. I had my camera 📷 and he says take my picture. It took a few and later I sent them to him. It was fun to do this mini photo shoot. It brought joy to me and the pictures brought joy to him. I think these are the kind of things you are trying to get across to us.
Great and expiring as usual. Been in a rut some myself. A lot going on, but have a feeling I’ll be back at it soon. I have a lot to cover in my next video when that time comes. Keep the motivation coming and love the edit and style. Great job.
True story , I spent 4 hours hiking mountains here in Alaska in July it was stupid hot and sweaty didnt see a single bird worth photographing, I wanted to toss my camera in the river i was next to. Complaining to my wife how i sucked so bad at photography. Then I see a guy putting his kayak in the river and asked if I could shoot some pics of him and run down the road and set up when he came by. He said yes, those photos landed me a 2020 Alaska Magazine Photo of the Year... Morale or the story... A great shot that is a "bucket list" experience can be 30 seconds away if you stop and calm your storm or just try again
Not quiting nature photography, but no way I will replace it with my real job as I see on some people. Let's be real, it won't pay even the light bill for a month. Hobby, nothing more.
Was trying to find you in messenger to talk to you about my latest experiences with ducks. But doesn't seem like I'm able to reach you anymore. In messenger??
Hi David. I recently deleted Messenger and Instagram. I found social media a big distraction from my creativity lately, so don't have any social media other than UA-cam. You can reache here through email. Hope your experience with the ducks was a good one. 👍

Amen to that.
Brother I'm gonna be 60 in a couple of weeks and I'm just getting started. Been at it for over 10 years. Going pro this year. Arthritis & all.
Awesome! Don't ever let go of the joy it brings.

Awesome story Murray. I think we all can learn from each other. Especially in the simple things.
@@KevinNordstrom life is at its best when it's simple.
Excellent video. Makes one think💕

A really well edited video.
I relate to many of your videos. I'm sure others do as well. It's the reason I enjoy your channel. God Bless 🙏
