Description (From Wikipedia) Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 - A Tight Squeeze, commonly known as Chapter One or abbreviated as CH1, is the first chapter for Poppy Playtime. It was released on October 13 on Steam. It revolves around the unamed player, an ex-employee of the toy manufacturing business Playtime Co. whose employees when missing abruptly one day, and receives a letter from an anonymous sender stating that 'we're still here'. This incites the protagonist to go back to the abandoned factory and investigate it to find out what is happening. Playtime Co. is a toy-making company, and the location where the game takes place. It was likely established in the 1950s, considering the aesthetic and lack of deeply advanced technology. However, the factory likely made its demise some time past the 80s depending. In this game, you play as an ex-employee of a company labelled "Playtime Co." Playtime Co. was once a corporate giant company that was in the toy manufacturing industry - that was until everybody inside the factory went missing. Now, years later, you return to the factory to investigate these unknown missing cases. One of the main mascots of PlayTime Co, he was one of the best sellers and found a place in the hearts of many children across the globe due to the fact that he was programmed to hug people, or because he was found to be cute. Nobody really knows what made him so appealing. However, due to experimentation on the toys at Playtime Co., a Huggy Wuggy seems to have come to life and gone rogue, killing everyone that crosses its path. The Player is the main protagonist of Poppy's Playtime and is the person you currently play as during Chapter 1: A Tight Squeeze. There is not much to say about The Player since we never get an introduction to who they could be. However, there's a recurring theory that the live toys, such as the murderous HH, were actually human experiments. There's a theory that the player has ties to whoever was running the operation, or looked similar to them, which is why they were so ferociously attacked. This is not canon, and this may be disputed later on as more lore is revealed. Poppy Playtime is a minor character inside Chapter 1, and will most likely be an important character for the upcoming chapters. Poppy is a highly intelligent toy, she has the ability to properly converse with a child. She's also programmed to talk and communicate like a real little girl. Her first debut is in Chapter 1 and is featured inside the first VHS tape the player receives in the game, in which she appears in her own commercial tape. The Grab Pack was shown to have been used by factory workers to do heavy lifting and general tasks that would have been hard for the average man to do alone, or even in groups. Not to mention, that in the chase scene, the player used it to pull a huge box over an entrance to deter a murderous Huggy Wuggy, and instead destroys the entire mesh floor with the box and takes Huggy Wuggy down with it. This shows that it's incredibly powerful, managing to pull down a box like that with ease. In VHS 2, it's also shown that it can easily decapitate a person with relative ease. In VHS 2, because of this, it was strongly advised to use these with care for that very reason. Decapitating your coworker is not ideal. (Steam Page) You must stay alive in this horror/puzzle adventure. Try to survive the vengeful toys waiting for you in the abandoned toy factory. Use your GrabPack to hack electrical circuits or nab anything from afar. Explore the mysterious facility... and don't get caught.
It sort of makes you wonder if they made phase 3 SO bad because they WANTED people to leave the game..like they realized how hard it was to manage a multiplayer game let alone manage one whilst creating a big title like Poppy Playtime, but instead of communicating with the fans the difficulty or hiring more staff to make a full team for Project Playtime (instead of splitting up the staff between the games leading to needing to take staff back from Project, there's be 2 full teams) they killed the game and abandoned it almost ashamed of it..no communication, just gutted it and left
Your theory isn't entirely out of the question, but I do feel as if it's unlikely. I don't think the devs would spend that much effort for nothing. That's like buying a new toy, and upgrading it with all it's collectable accessories, just to throw it in the trash. I think it was just the higher ups taking the quickest solutions, and not thinking it through for what would be better long-term.
@@evergreengaming2.053 DID YOU JUST SAY "YOU'RE"??? 👀👀👀
But Asides, I Feel Like The Original Comment's Theory Could Be Right Because I've Seen Someone With 600k Subs Do That So He Could Leave Peacefully Knowing His Fans Hate Him And Wanted Him To Leave...
@@SketchYYLegenD I fixed that 'you're' lol. Can't believe I missed that.
it's not always as simple as just "hiring more staff", sometimes the money just isn't there, also hiring people for small studios can be harming to the creative process, instead of having 5-6 people all with a very focused view of how the game is meant to be from the very beginning of production, you get 10-15 people that have different views of what the game should focus on and it messes with the final product.
I miss the days when we had those fun lobbies and the huggy minigame. Feels like a daydream now.😭😭Also they didn’t even explain why they did what they did. The hell is wrong with them.

Before they do anything else for phase 4, THEY NEED TO REVERSE ALMOST EVERYTHING FROM PHASE 3. THEY REMOVED PRIVATE GAMES, RANDOM PICK, AND THE HUGGY PIT!!
I'd say for phase 4 they will be bringing all of that back, It was probably just to buggy to keep in.
Not to mention they got rid of the god damn tutorial.
They knew what they were doing when they removed them. They wanted to kill the game so they could move on to greener pastures

As someone who was/is very into PJPT, heres a couple things id like to say:
Phase 2 is the best update and the best state the game ever was, and the only objectively good thing Phase 3 did was making items purchaseable via tickets.
Absolutely EVERYTHING else, the new hud, the new cinematic, the removal of the train ride intro, huggy pit, grab handles, etc. was an absolutely HORRIBLE change.
The worst part is that the pjpt feedback channel in the discord got set to private. Its still in the server i think, but you cant see it, cant type in it, cant read it, nothing. Its so fucking sad what happened to this geniunely fun and unique game.
Catnap as a monster also had so much potential as a playable character.
Zach did say at one point, something along the lines of: "We have many many things planned for it" in the discord when talking about PJPT, but thats the most vague, corporate statement ever, so we shall see what he meant. I hope the game gets back to its prime one day...
@@Sad_KittenGaming what are the odds that they got something in store for us to bring it back?
Not a unique game since there are more of its genre, but very cool to play as the pp characters
Yea Phase two is Amazing i very LOVE this game After this update … but now this game is „Meh”? Im Mob (Games) Entherteiment still Add new maps or Monster/skins… but game still looks like in Phase 2 ( Lobby Mechnics ) this game is Awsome but now Mob kill this game Forever…

yes dude the game had so much tech and a high skill cap it had so much potential, im sure you know but people have found a way to revert the game before the update that killed the game, me and my friends have been able to play like this but it sucks to know they are never working on the game again, i was a demon with boxy on factory and flying across map with the handles or finding spots you weren't really supposed to be in was so much fun

I used to play this game every single day, but with season 3 is just died for me. I have 780 hours played Pjpt, and this is incredibly sad, it seems like the devs don't care anymore, Phase 3 was so rushed, that they only had the option to delete things to make it ''special'' special of ruining the whole game, best of luck to pjpt, but i think rn that if the devs release a update right now, the game won't really revive about the players, because they won't even remember the game, also the promotion this game received is absurd, the last mention pjpt got was in APRIL!
Hey bro
@@Gasteryoug hi Gaster
I used to play the hell out of pjpt, I stopped playing more and more because of the rapidly increasing mid or downright disturbingly bad updates. especially the removal of the huggy holes.. what purpose did removing it serve???
I literally asked the dev team’s Q&A account if the funny cat was ever gonna be in the game and they just deflected my statement 😢
How does someone peak 800 hours in this game?

Special Delivery flipped so Project could flop 😂 Seriously, I wish side project games for franchises would have a little more love and care. Into the Pit is a good sign at least.
Well it was good while it lasted but its in a better place now R.I.P in peace Project Playtime 2022-2024 ❤😔
I hope they at least dont completely scrap boxy and give him a new role in the main game. He was arguably one of the best if not the best feature of project playtime
We're still alive ! Okay we're a small community but we're still here !
just play dbd
@@psycless man you don't know how deep the pit between dbd and (at least the old) Project:Playtime is. The game is much more slow and ppl are too toxic
As a day one, (was, rusty now) relatively high ranked Boxy Boo main, friends w/ a few of the other top players & tourney people, 560ish hours (mostly played Phase 1&2), have this to say:
There are several bugs that I have encountered in UE4, and I understand the logic of how to fix (as a complete amateur learning UE4 on my own). That being said, there's a few bugs that I won't say here, because they seem like they'd actually be really good features (if they were developed more) for higher level players.
I think I was one of the first few people to spread the info about how to revert the game back to Phase 2 (shared January 29th in one of my friend group servers, but I vaguely remember sharing it other places before then too)
I've also figured out how to bypass EAC (yes, even in Phase 3) and use UUU (Universal Unreal Unlocker) to increase my speed, size, spawn blueprints, etc. (aka cheat)
Personally, I've tried about everything I possibly could to get in touch with the devs and try to fix the bugs that I understand (Roll Cancel, Run Lock, etc), but no matter what I did I couldn't get in touch with them. Even their email was completely dead (the one on their website).
They haven't even so much as murmured anything about PJPT to my knowledge, so I don't think they really care enough to engage with their community or fix the game, possibly because it wasn't raking in the big bucks (not assuming, just giving my thoughts). I don't think I'd be opposed to still help, only if it meant they would listen to their community and the people that understand in the future.
Glad you put this video up though, because maybe, just maybe, they'll do something with enough people looking. Maybe start a hashtag to gauge more attention? Like #SavePJPT or #SaveProjectPlaytime? I really do want to get good at this game again, and it really is a shame the devs have to be this way.
#SaveProjectPlaytime W Comment bro! Im right there with you!
I have a feeling that the game will receive content after Poppy Playtime(specifically the main game) is finished. It would be way easier and make more sense because even if there's no more Poppy Playtime chapters they can still update Project to let fans play as and against they're favourite characters. We know not just main antagonists are planned for the game because the devs have stated PJ Pug-a-pillar was in development. If we're lucky the game might get supported again earlier than we think as the dev team grows and they can afford it. There's no chance the game is abandoned forever.
Not really
They aren't going to revisit a game that they made 4-5 years ago when they finish the series, rehire people for the game, do a bunch of re-marketing and then re-release a game with probably not many new updates
They'll just make a non-dbd like game thats live service probably.
well the main issue with this is the fact that literally no one will care about project playtime by that point.
Squidward: Well, it was fun while it lasted..
I still play project Playtime every now and again. It's massively fun, but the changes the devs made in the last update just ruined everything they had left. The game might have stopped development, but there's actually a fan project being worked on called playtime plus and it seems like it'll have most good stuff added back from the main game and also promises to add some more much requested changes and features. I'm not even affiliated with them in any way, I just wanted to share this super cool project with everyone who misses the good old PJPT days. Honestly can't wait for it to be released in like a year or something
You can probably find it by looking up playtime plus on UA-cam
PjPt used to be my favorite game, I played it every day. But phase 3 ruined the game for me.
I still hold out hope that one day it'll come back.

I never played the game, but it's such a shame really.
Project Playtime was clearly popular with fans. Introducing newer or even more complicated puzzles in-game could be a great place to provide fans with hints, clues, details, special facts, artist opinions, anything and everything really about Poppy Playtime.
Project playtime was a really fun game when inishially released although the monsters were extremely difficult to deal with when you re new to the game. However people from both the employee and monster side eventually started playing entirely reliant on using exploits to be better at the game, especially in phase 2, and in order to keep up you had to practise extra just to counter them and keep up or even use exploits as well. I stopped playing the game for this reason. I planned to come back to the game once these issues were fixed but seeing the state the game currently is its not really giving me any motivation to come back to it.
why didn't you join us to play with exploits ? It was really fun to fly around with Dash Handles !
@@Gasteryoug its fun when you re the survivor but it makes it a lot more difficult when you re the monster, especially if you join a map when everyone knows how to do the same thing. For me it made it harder to grind tickets while playing as the monster. But i can definetely see it being fun while playing with friends like trolling around.
@@thatanimegirlwiththecape4807 You had litteraly the same exploits for the monsters for example you could go as fast as a Bhopping survivor if you Bhop during a jump
@@Gasteryoug i know this too but for the new players who dont know how to use exploits and are just playing the game normally its kinda unfair wheather you are survivor or monster. I wasnt one of these players and eventually i learned how to bhop as well dont get me wrong its fun.. but it also breaks the balancing of the game since exploits and bhoping became essential to keep up with the other players
@@thatanimegirlwiththecape4807 Ok and for that i had maybe a solution that could make everyone happy:
Customizable private lobbies where you can add back
Dash handles
Feeding pits

Bro how come its always unique games that either get money hungry or make bad updates killing the fan base. Theres so many basic games now and they somehow get popular. But when we get something different and actually fun something always happens to it making it a shell of what it once was.
I hope this game comes back with phase 4 better than ever

@JackTrahanOfficial We only get little fixes to hats, we don't get anything besides that.
Sheep I totally agree with you Project was so successful and then fell dramatically and I loved Project cause that game helped me meet the people I know today I would love to bring that game back cause everything good that you said about the game are 100% true and I miss the game it was so fun! What I think the devs should do is relaunch the game for a comeback and head back to phase 1 #saveprojectplaytime
Relaunching the game is a great idea.
0:37 sheep that's not true at all. They knew chapter 3's development would only take 10-12 months and the development of chapter 3 hadn't even started until may 2023 a whole entire year after chapter 2's release (bc of project) and 5 months after project's release. the fact that ch3 started development in may 2023, we know it only took 8 months of development just like chapter 2 and would have probably been like 2-4 months more if they didn't make project to make the concepts, vision they had for chapter 3 come to life like the toy store which was seemingly cut as they had already missed their release year deadline which bc of project to. So this reason you said here is really not true, they just decided to make project first instead of chapter 3 after ch2 came out thinking it would be a good way to keep people engaged while people wait for the chapters like you said, but imo it really wasn't a good decision as we ended up having to wait for chapter 3 for almost 2 years than what would have been just the usual 9-10 months or a year had they not decided to make project.
Considering Poppy Playtime Chapter 4 is already in the works..........Yeah I don't think we're gonna see Project Playtime again until awhile.......................................
Man they should at least make a new game with boxy boo. MY BOY HAS BEEN IGNORED FOR TO LONG
Fun fact, Chapter 4 released and was ALSO quite buggy, wtf is with their QA
Early Access has absolutely killed the need for studios to release finished, polished games. Now studios can publish unoptimized titles and slap that “Early Access” title and get away with the game being shit at launch. Then they promise to make the game better and some do, but most dont and games die before they’re really even finished
Farewell project playtime and thank you for everything you gave us it was much fun but now all good things must come to an end 2022-2023
in my opinion, the game is still fun to play. Normally when you only have like 2 teammates or your going solo in this game, It makes it more fun. You have to do everything on your own and as long you know the layout of the levels (there's not that many tbh) then you should be able to survive most games.
It's sad because I really REALLY loved Project Playtime back then
Everything was going pretty damn smoothly until Phase 3 arrived and messed up everything that players liked about the game, which ended up on its inevitable death
I legit played this game twice because my computer could barely run it and now nobody plays it
I stopped playing once they nerfed boxy boo and gave him a cooldown. Instant loss of fun.
they need a studio to take over project playtime and add content monthly, that will revive the game...
The saddest thing; the second update was actually so good, and showed that the game had a lot of potential. It gave us our first look at the smiling friends for crying out loud. But then they ended the season and updated the game with a glitchy third phase that ruined the experience. It’s crazy to think that if they had just kept the game in the Incineration version, it would have been alright.
I miss this game so much, another big change for me was the robot skins. They removed the sounds they made for all 3 monsters then in phase 3 they removed them except for Mommy's?? I don't get it. 😢😢
And you're surprised? It was buggy from the beginning, people care more about the main game and they took too long to add a new monster to keep the game fresh, its sad because from what I hear it's actually pretty fun, even tho it's a DBD clone, the skins were also great
Even with all the bugs and removing pretty much everything people loved about the game Project Playtime is still better than DBD by miles

I loved Project Playtime when it first released and played so much up until Phase 3. I loved the game when it was in its demo state because, despite the bugs, it was really really fun!! calling 16k peak players "one of the biggest launch of any multiplayer game" is crazy
(written before watching)As an active project playtime player. I can say that 90% of tryhards(if not 100%) hates the new update. There are many reasons towards that. Removal of lobbies(In phase 2 yo could play tryhard only and it was fun)Some players decided that playing phase 3 is not worth their time at all. Besides that devs didn't rlly communicate enough with community. They removed lobbies and said that private matches would be added ASAP but due to negativity from the community they didnt deliver private lobbies. Besides that the buggines of the game during launch still haunts devs to this day(If you know what I mean then you know if you don't then idc)(and the way matchmaking works make it so yo can still open lobbies on older versions(Great news for tryhards)). That one fact that yo could legally downgrade project playtime to phase 2 made some players (including myself) still play the game. I do not think we will get another update and honestly i just wait for Mob entertainment to announce the discontinuation of the game. Some changes in phase 3 were great but the most of them made players quit.

Anyone remember when we were promised that we would get pj pug a pillar and catnap as new monsters..? It's sad how much they let us down in a game that probably has much more potential for longevity then their main poppy playtime game. :(
I played this game when it came out, Phase 1 was so much fun. Even though there was bugs, none made the game unplayable for me. Private games were so much fun. Then they did an update for Phase 2, that got rid of all of my upgrades and sabotages, reseting them. I spend so much time into them and they just reset it. I came back for Phase 3 to play with some friends only to realize they got rid of private lobbies, grab handles, huggy pit, hell you couldnt even invite your friends through steam. Horrible change, the game was so much fun and now its anything but that.

I hate how they made the survivors look like toys in game, when the trailer showed them being actual humans
This has been an issue with the devs behind this series for ages.
They want to do way too many things at the same time.
Originally they wanted to do a movie too or so i heard.
They don't even have a finished main game.
The devs are talented however.
They're very greedy so hence why i don't support it.
WTF do ya mean by an unfinished main game, huh? The game's coming out chapter wise, and it makes sense too. Each chapter requires immense focus while making the lore, and making sure that the lore from the previous chapters is not forgotten.
I used to love that game back in the phase 2
It’s almost like if your a indie studio you shouldn’t work on multiple games at once
wow what a shock it failed and is unplayable, even through experience, I only played the first season to get Killy Willy and then I stopped playing entirely cause they didn't add characters from The Smiling Critters nor Cat-Bee outside of a Cat-Bee toy so having only 3 monsters was not good and unbalanced, Mommy Long Legs was too slow and not even climbing walls would fix her inability to catch, Huggy Wuggy was in the middle and more balanced aside from hit detection, and Boxy Boo was broken as Hell, he was practically unplayable without loads of practice but if you were against a Boxy main, you were screwed no matter what, his reach was insane, you couldn't escape him, didn't even wanna try to get any other cosmetics, heck I think I paid for the cat outfit for the survivor avatar and not much else
I am one of the ppl that play with others in older phases i even have a French server dedicated to the game with around 170 ppl but the server itself is as dead as possible since there's no updates i've even made a software to easily change versions I tried to ask some question to devs and the only person who responded was @Nized and we had a bit of a chat but since he's tied to a contract he can't say much more than what's in the video and i understand the devs on the point that okay a multiplayer game is very hars to support but the problem still lies in communication. If they started to tell us a bit of what's up that would make us calm down but no and that makes me sad. Mabye if the ask us to make content for them like Team Fortress does that would help a bit. I REALLY hopo to see this game rise up again. Thanks for listening and if you wanna join, i'm sometime in game on this version. Maybe you'll see me play maybe not anyways have a good day !
The amount of fans is not equal to the amount of people that played the game
I have seen people very vocal about this in the steam forums and it’s really sad that mob games basically gave up on the game with their third major update being a massive failure
I think this game is a good lesson in how live service games aren't just easy money makers that anyone can make. Pushing out content updates is difficult, and for any company that isnt utterly massive and organized, those updates can require nearly every hand to be on deck. Dont EVER try to make the next fortnite if you cant keep up with the workload of fortnite
😢 I was really hoping to play it and record it more. I even was expecting CatNap to make an appearance and show how his mechanics work.. 💔
This is why I wait a good 5 years before checking out ANY multiplayer game.
The market is just too saturated and unstable for me to care about fads.
Project Playtime was a game that I just loved as much as I could.
When it was released, I did not care about the bugs, or the flaws, or even the unbalance issues. I just loved the game, and believe it or not, it would not get boring for me even without friends. Phase 1 and 2 was definitely the best times for Project Playtime. Its content its skins, it was truly amazing. Despite all the hate towards dash handles, it was a fun mechanic to use. All the monsters were unique, fun, none of them were bad or too overpowered. It was perfect
Until phase 3. Dark, lonely, sombre, dull, and any words similar to these. Its an extremely rushed phase, which is completely useless. Despite removing all the fun features, it added the very bad ones. To this day I still think that the speed boost is way less fun and fair that dash handles. And now, the game will hits its almost 1 year Anniversary of no updates.
RIP Project Playtime 2022-2024
You gave me a lot of memories during 6th grade, now I go to 8th, and I cant believe that you have become something like this. I am dissapointed, we are dissapointed

Guys let's just accept it, Project playtime is a dead, abandoned, and a buggy game.. RIP
so that's why I saw so many youtubers make ONE video about it and then proceeded to never even mention it again
I wish I got to play Phase 2 bc sometime before phase 2 or something, Project Playtime wouldn’t let me play in a server, but play in the tutorial. Few months later, I can’t play it anymore, literally.
Fun fact if you and your friends change their download region on steam to something like Cambodia then you practically have private lobby’s that one person can play as monster and everyone else loads up as survivors.
lets be honest here, the wave 3 update was the reason it died. they made the game feel more like a battle royal then a survive game.
I really hope they update this game 😔
Damnnnn I remember grinding out the first pass with a friend good times. Shame that after every update they seemed to just delete all youe progress in tickets :(((, rip in rest PjPl.
I feel like the smaller team thought it would be a good idea to remove all these features to make game development easier and they were probably thinking fans wouldnt care too much.
Honestly if they had more monsters, proximity chat, more skins and maps this game would have been amazing
I once got a bug where box-she-boo model was t-posing because the character was actually mommy long legs
