Opera 2 shows his fun side as he gets to play around with that wonderful voice. Show Must Go On displays his ability to take popular existing songs and transforms them into his own style. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition. The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song (Ref CCC): I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death) STORY BEHIND THE SONG : The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless. If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. Here's more information to add to the comments below: Dimash is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has recently been accepted into a Ph.D. program. He has received singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down for a more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet. You will also find out that Dimash is very humble and respectful to his parents, friends, and fellow performers. He calls his fans "Dears" and loves them like he does his own family! I would recommend Love Is Like A Dream for you. Other performances that are basic knowledge for Dimash beginners are Sinful Passion and Opera 2. From there on you have so mch more to discover. Since 2017 he has delivered more remarkable performances than many seasoned stars of the music industry.
I think it’s funny I’ve seen a few reaction videos to this version and as soon as Dimash comes on screen they think he’s so cute and little (just assuming given your reaction of “awwwwe look at him”). Honestly it’s weird how the camera does this but it makes him look a lot smaller than he actually is. My dude is 6’3.

SOS is a great intro to his talents. Sinful Passion shows his range and genre abilities. Adagio shows off his stage presence and drama. Olympico showcases his deep registers and voice power. Opera 2 shows his fun side as he gets to play around with that wonderful voice. Show Must Go On displays his ability to take popular existing songs and transforms them into his own style. And, Qairan Elim is his first endeavor into video and film directing. This is the purpose of the list I suggest to those starting to react to Dimash.

In this order of thinking there are also good Your Love and Across Endless Dimensions ! There are also other dimensions of his singing like mastering the audience to explosive reactions (Screaming Idol Hits version) or very very silent attention when you can hear a neddle dropping (Vocalise akka Know) and so on ! And last but not least he do not sings twice in the same way the same song ! (SOS The Singer, SOS Slavic Bazaar, SOS in Paris, SOS Tokyo Jazz Festival) !

He was raised by his grandparents according to the Kazakh tradition and kept his biological parents to be his aunt and uncle until he was 10 years old. They all live together in one house.
Dimash has university degrees in opera as well as pop/ jazz, his master's degree in composition and has trained in music since age 5. He declined a vocation to the National Opera in Astana, because he will to go his own way.
How it all started in 2017:
Dimash received a wild-card for the competition "Singer 2017" in China.
Over 1 billion people see this tv-program and It generated international interest. The performances were uploaded to UA-cam.
Dimash was the youngest participant of all time (22 years) and the only non-Chinese in this competition. Only professional, award-winning singers take part. Nobody knew Dimash and he also had to compete as first. The competition consisted of 14 rounds, over 4 months. The jury consists of 500 spectators.
His first song "S.O.S. d'un terrien en détresse" comes from the famous Canadian-French rock opera "Starmania" (singer: Daniel Balavoine, very well known in the French-speaking world) and is one of the most difficult songs to sing.
After performing this song, he became a mega-star overnight and needed bodyguards, but he only finished second in the competition because he's not Chinese (conditions have changed since then) The following year, Jessie J. participated in the show and won.

The past 3 years have been very, very eventful and success for Dimash. He is one of the most popular artists in China and has been recognized as the best male artist and also the best foreign artist of the year in China. His first CD reached platinum 37 seconds after the start, triple platinum within an hour.

So, he speaks Kazakh (mother tongue) and Russian (without accent, because second language in Kazakhstan), speaks English better and better and tries Mandarin. He also sings in 12 languages so far. He trains his voice for 3 hours every day, has an absolute ear and plays at least 7 instruments. He used to train taekwondo. He achieves his enormous lung capacity through targeted swimming and diving training, juggles a soccer ball very well and even takes additional dance lessons for his Dears. Dimash's idols are Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, Lara Fabian, Celin Dion, Queen and not to forget Michael Jackson. Dimash doesn't drink alcohol and of course he doesn't smoke, he doesn't drink iced drinks, doesn't like socks and he loves fire and water on stage, of course as stage-set 😊 ... and Dimash looks good is a sought-after model. What can he not do? Oops, he can't cook. 🤣 Have I forgotten something? When he sleeps? In fact, he only sleeps max. 5 hours, as he himself says. I still browse the music videos of Dimash from time to time to see what still store in there. I’m just wondering how much effort and strength Dimash had invested into it and to reach such a powerful voice and the many other talents that he had. Indeed it is really a great work. How he was able to develop such a heights of his talents is really admirable and worth learning. And it is much more beautiful because he sang it by heart, naturally and at his heart’s content with joyful disposition.
The discipline, dedication and high ideals in pursuing his career the best he can is worth imitating not only in our individual professional fields but also in living our day to day life. Hope his viewers worldwide especially the young will learned from his optimistic views in pursuing his professional fields to the optimum level especially his confidence, creativity and perseverance. His labors and hard work are now indeed bearing fruits in abundance. And so my heartfelt congratulations to Dimash and his family and all others who supported him all the way through as a musician. For me as a listener it counts a lot the personal disposition of the artist and the content of its music.
The power and beauty of his voice is so incredible even at his lowest and highest notes. Also the fact that, he is able to sing his music at maximum or more than 6 octaves with ease and comfort in different languages and in various voices is really amazing. But some others also cannot handle and cannot even believe the power, the strength and the heights of his voice…and they said oooh… is Dimash human..? Alien..?
I think It’s just a natural reaction that people wonder and probably surprise by it or cannot even believed it at all, it’s because it is beyond human expectation. But I believed and I’m convinced that Dimash 21 year’s cultivation of his voice and talents is no tricks and no magic at all; though he is gifted by God with grace for music but his years of hard work of practice and experiences proved it to us and to the world … that indeed it is possible.
My other concerns whenever I listen to music is that, I usually ask: WHAT MESSAGE THIS MUSIC BRINGS ..? TO THE WORLD..? TO PEOPLE..?
Although Dimash music are very good, full of content and meaning but I like most this music, because for me it speaks a message of truth, values and realities of human life. I feel that, it is not just enough to give my thumbs up to like this music, but I’m deeply moved to share something more about the richness and deeper meaning of it.
With due respect to the composers, writers and singers of these music for whatever their purpose and intention would be, will always take precedence. The thoughts that I will be sharing below about these music is only the fruits of my personal reflections based on the things that I highly valued and on how I perceived it myself and the message of this song that reaches out to me.

SONG OF DIMASH IN FRENCH “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” (Ester Rabi’s Commentary & Reflection on this song (Ref CCC): I like this music because it reminds me the Truth, Realities and Precariousness of Human Life particularly Suffering and Death)
STORY BEHIND THE SONG : The song is from French Rock Opera called Starmania. Originally it was sung by Daniel Balavoine who had a sudden death in a helicopter accident in 1986, who is known of his beautiful voice. Later, it was covered by Gregory Lemarchal, a young French singer who inspired Dimash to sing “SOS d'un terrien en detresse” who at all odds won the 4th series Reality TV Program Star Academy, despite his failing health and became an overnight success in France but had a shorter career, for he died young with his unusual illness of Cystic Fibrosis in 2007 at the age of 23. Recently it was unbelievably covered by Dimash and from time to time Dimash sung it in memory of his great friend Denis Ten an Olympic figure skater from Kazakhstan who was stabbed after a dispute with people who allegedly tried to steal a mirror from his car in his home city of Almaty. He died of massive blood loss from multiple wounds at the age of 25 in 2018. “S.O.S D’UN TERRIEN EN DETRESSE” means in a sad lyrics says … “a soul’s plea for help or an earthly being in distress” because it is a human being who is in anguish searching for the absolute.
Suffering and death is one of the realities of human life. It is important that we should know the basic truth about it, so that it will not cause us fear and distress in our human life’s , but rather to remind us all of our ultimate destiny as people of faith.
For me, there are 3 kinds of suffering we experienced in life: 1st suffering that God allows, 2nd suffering which is the results of our own choices and decisions and 3rd is the suffering which is cause by other people to us. In whatever forms of suffering we are experiencing, know that, if it is discerned well it will gain us eternal merit. Note that, it is not important how much and how long we suffer, or who cause us to suffer, but how is our attitude towards it when it comes into our life…? All of these three can be an opportunity of grace that we will grow in virtue, when we accept it with humility, discernment and faith in God.
Our usual human tendency is, if we can, we try to avoid any kind of pain and suffering in our life. However we can’t deny also that life is mixed up of many learning experiences both in joys and in difficulties and I supposed we need it both, because it contributes and helps us mature and grow in many aspects of life. Suffering and death may seem contrary to our own human thinking or world’s way of thinking but in it, there’s a certain wisdom which is richer and deeper that no one can fully understand. Suffering reminds us the real fact that we are all fragile human beings; that we are limited and we are not God.
Sufferings are human reality and consequences of sin that affects us all. It helps us see the real worth and value of things and meaning in life. Likewise, if we are open to grace it helps us become vulnerable, sensitive and compassionate to others. It sharpens our awareness that this earth is not our permanent and true home. We should remember that we are only strangers and pilgrims on this earth” as Saint Paul reminded us that “our present sufferings are nothing to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed to us later.
Suffering purifies and refines us of any life’s superficiality into an authentic one. Though no one really is actively searching for suffering in his / her life, but honestly truth compels us to admit that sufferings do have a great value in our life and by experiencing it personally in reality, you will never be the same person. The hope of heaven gives us joy even in the sufferings of this life. In God’s plan, human beings were created for holiness and eternal life with him. But through the original sin that enters human lives, our nature has been wounded, and is now subject to suffering and death. This was not part of God’s original plan, but now is already part of our human lives reality.
Death for us is a frightening mystery because we are being stripped off of all our attachments to this world; our body lies corrupt; our immortal soul goes to meet the Lord. We will see the whole truth of our lives, and we will face God’s judgment. Death creates in us a feelings and emotion of fear, separation, sadness and pain. Many times we evade this reality and we try to question and even argue with God why…? But all our efforts failed because whether we like it or not at the end, we all die. Death comes in our life anytime anywhere. No material things, good health, young age can guarantee of its extension. The truth is… in front of death we are all poor and powerless.
If this life were the only one we had, death would definitely be the great tragedy. But In God’s plan, however, death is not the end of everything, but the border that enables every human being to enter the endless place of eternity. For all those who have done their best to respond to God’s grace, to die is to cross from an imperfect type of existence into a new and fuller life lived in God’s presence. Often we feel the greatest misfortunes, when death struck in a person, depriving him or her greatest treasures a person can possess which is life itself. Death is such a peaceful event in our life, if we die in the state of grace, meaning if we died reconciled with God and at peace with others.
Death is the end of our earthly life. Since it is unknown to all of us, the time of our death, therefore, it is best that we should prepare at all times. Dimash is university trained in Classical opera vocals to degree level, also holds a degree in contemporary pop music and jazz with a major in vocals, and now has finished his master degree in music composition with a top mark of 100%. He has recently been accepted into a Ph.D. program. He has received singing lessons from the age of 5 when his teacher noticed he had perfect pitch . He was offered a place at the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turned it down for a more contemporary musical career. He is a multi instrumentalist, more than 8 instruments and also sings in 12 different languages and has a range of over 6 octaves from a low bass A2 to a high soprano, plus a whistle register with his highest note so far being a 5 second D8 with vibrato. He is widely recognized as the best vocalist in the world. He speaks fluent Kazakh and Russian, is studying English and Mandarin and has conversational skills in both but not quite fluent yet.
You will also find out that Dimash is very humble and respectful to his parents, friends, and fellow performers. He calls his fans "Dears" and loves them like he does his own family!

I think it’s funny I’ve seen a few reaction videos to this version and as soon as Dimash comes on screen they think he’s so cute and little (just assuming given your reaction of “awwwwe look at him”). Honestly it’s weird how the camera does this but it makes him look a lot smaller than he actually is. My dude is 6’3.
