Great playing . How about some JTM45 or '59 Bassman classic rock settings if it will do it?? I'm not seeing that in amny of these demos yet. Seems to cater to the heavy rock type sounds.
Love the Moog synth couch! Where can I get one? Or,at least, where can I get the fabric? The controls look very similar to my ID 100 TVP head. Is this a remodeled version of the ID series?
Pretty much settled on one of these Silverlines. I'm wondering whether the standard combo or special combo is the one to get for rehearsing with a band. I think the special, given that it's probably just as quiet as the standard if you want it to be, but will simply get louder and sound fuller with the 12" speaker.
Riddle me this.. If one has a Blackstar ID 100 TVP head is there a big enough tonal difference in the Silverline 100 head to warrant "upgrading" or are the same amp in different packaging?
@Dave Bostock I know I'm 2 years later, but I'll give you this link for reference on the sounds (ua-cam.com/video/t36uNJ1MaJo/v-deo.html). There's a subtle difference, the silverline I'd say is a little brighter and more detailed. And with SL the power amp sim is always on. Otherwise I believe they're pretty similar.
The only thing I don't really like about this series of amplifiers is the fact that you need to attach a computer to access the effects loop. I don't want to have to do that at a gig. If BlackStar can fix this or revamp it somehow, then I'm all in. Great sounding amp and nice feature set.
You only need to change the setting once in the software and then it stays saved from what I believe. You don't need to have it hooked up to a PC or laptop at a gig to switch the FX loop on. Some guy on youtube clearly shows an ID 60 TVP being used with multi-fx in 4 cable method. It sounds killer and there's no PC in sight! If it isn't saving on yours then check the amp isn't in demo mode. In this mode it deletes any user changes when switched off.
@@stankowalski4574 No problem. I'm buying myself one of these on Friday with full intent of blasting it through my Marshall 1960B Vintage 30 loaded cab! ;)
Kind of the same issue with my boss katana 100. Wish they would fix this for these types of amps. Lots of effects and features but kind of locked in behind a wall of user unfriendliness.
I had one of these for about 8 days. (Head & Cab) it does indeed sound really great. However, if any of your time practising is jamming along to backing tracks etc then don’t bother. If you need to use headphones at all then don’t bother either. I used my iPad to plays tracks and no matter what I did the volume of the tracks could never get loud enough. GAK said it was to do with the ‘line in’ bypassing a certain part of the amp. The guitar ALWAYS just completely drowned out the tracks. Through headphones the tracks were also extremely quiet. When headphones are plugged in the Master Volume has to be on zero or the sound still comes through the speaker. Even with tracks on full volume it was still far too quiet and the guitar would just drown them out. Even when I turned the guitar volume down to 1 etc. If you don’t need to use headphones or play tracks through the amp then I WOULD recommend it as it really is a great amp. However just the above meant I had to send it back unfortunately.
Hi, I practice the same way you mentioned and was hoping the Blackstar would suit jam tracks etc. As yiu sent the amp back, did you find a suitable alternative? I'm currently using a Spark 40w Amp but without headphones it isn't the best sounding
@@mattprobert8268 Hi, yeah I got the Katana Artist MKII. However it doesn’t have Bluetooth so you need to connect your iPad/iPod etc via cables and also headphones need to be wired as well. Other than that it’s an amazing amp. 👍
Really that price is wow. You guys are sooooo lucky to have Joss . If you need someone that can really jam to show off what a guitar or amp can do this is who :). The only problem I do not like about that head is it looks like a used or damaged version. The covering is messed up on the one corner . I would hope these would not start to peel and bubble after a while. Also you did not say if the amps modes have to be changed by hand or can they be changed with a pedal or Midi? And for that price is that modeling or REAL tube?
Yes it does ha e a effects loop you end to hook it up to your computer and enable it,I have the deluxe 2-12 combo everyone thinks is a tube amp until I showed them it's not tubes...they were blown away with the tone
Its not 'A great amp for the price' Thats faint praise .. ..Its Simply "A Great Amp!!" .. Probably 98% of a Jose Arredondo Marshall, Probably 98% of English Vox, Probably 98% of a USA Fender, therefore arguably better than all those amps in the name of versatility. Match it with your favourite voiced speakers and youd be hard to do better one would imagine .
Love how Joss is dressed like he is about to board a trawler for a 6 month stint!
Seriously though this amp sounds fantastic
He’s ‘open all hours’ 😂
@@bigdavedave9865 Gi,gi,gi,gi,gi Ginger cake!
Love the Silverline such an underrated amp. I’m not a fan of digital amps but the deluxe 100 amp head through a 2x12 is a killer combination.
How do you manage to be sooo cool Jos? Awesome and inspirational! You could have your own TV channel man!
I want that couch!
Pleasantly surprised. Clean tone is great! Awesome playing!
Thx for that demo, Jos. What a kick ass sounding amp and great value for the money. I’m buying one right now.
Omg that tele is amazing
Thanks for digging in!
Beautiful playing and beautiful tones! I'm sold!
Does anyone know if Joss has his own channel? This dude entertains me... start one Joss, I’ll watch it!
Ken McCabe check out guitar bros channel and his ig.
I have the 50W combo and it’s fantastic. Great in a live band setting. Now, more importantly, where do I get a couch like the one in this video??
I have blackstar amp head silverline by the way great playing bro

Yes. It's effectively TVP version 2.0. Better tech, more processing power, better tones, better looks. Haha
Have a Silverline. I really want Moog Synth couch now

Perfect video and really interesting... fantastic guitar sound👌
Head sounds great!
This chap always brings the best tones from the gear he uses, he has a great tone ear, Him self and Rabea are way ahead of the rest. WAYYY AHEAD
Nice tele.
If only Blackstar could put the controls on the front of combo amps in this line...
right? toploaders make me fucking furious
are these still available?

Great review Josh

All those fabulous LP's are going to give me an anxiety attack lol!
Please do another video with this amp and a guitar with emgs!
How is it the amp that does all? how does it handle effects in front?
If it's anything like the ID, badly.
how you did bomb dive without tremolo arm?
he bent the neck forwards
You manimal Joss!!! 🔥
Circus board yuckery. Is it a modeler. Is it carrying el 84's, 6l6's, el 34? Kt 88's? Lets look inside! Solid state??
ya solid state, no tubes
It’s digital but actually good. It’s got the same high power chips in it that Axe FX and Strymon use.
Kind of strange framing... why not move the camera so both you and the amp are in the shot at the same time??

this is not a tube amp. Its modeling same as the TVP series it replaces.
all can be switched with the FS10 and the bigger models I think have Midi.....
Interesting sofa. Nice amp. How to play like you? Please tell me. Even if I had that amp, would not be able to play like you...
Siddharth Karunakaran practice practice practice practice practice
I wouldn't think amps which don't have an effect loop can do it all
This thing does have a effects loop. Blackstar said it already
You don’t need an effect loop with solidstate amp, and you can use the emulated out and aux in as one they say

You appear to be lagging out of time with the amp.
doegy Whail I think the entire video is lagging a bit. It’s almost like a badly overdubbed kung fu movie.
I am stoned.. i thought he was playing on the couch amp.
Sounds good especially with jos playing but not great. Just missed for ne
For the money, I would choose the new Katana Mark 2. Or upgrade to Katana Artist Mark 2
"such a shame"
Gig
If it just had an effects loop 😭
It does. You just change headphone out and aux in to effects loop in the software on your pc/Mac. Many reviewers forget about it.

Yamaha 100hd already did this. This is probably louse and bigger. The switching of the tubes settings etc. A or A/B settings. Copycats.

Is this really still something people do?
Yet it dont have dedicated fx loop. Bullshit.
