It looks like a rework, like they did on the 300i or Cutlass for example, but this time they decided to sell the rework as a separate ship. Imagine if the Cutlass rework came out and they called it Cutlass Black MKII and charged $250 for it. I don't like this new way of updating ships one bit.

So I got the Ghost MKII and there are some issues with it, to begin with, none of the MKI nose turrets or ball turrets are compatible, so you are left with only 2 S4 guns to fend for yourself. You can remove the Ghost "ball" and also the Nose hardpoint is empty, but you cannot attach anything to them as of yet because CIG made it so MKI parts are not compatible with MKII parts. Currently waiting for Super Hornet MKII to release.
Still not fixed and the F7C MK2 also has no compatibility with any nose or ball turrets, absolute trash the entire ship line, 2xS4 just aint cutting it with this ship.
@@memedbengul4350 the nose turret is fixed and you can buy one, for the back turret you still need somebody with an F7A willing to dupe you a turret and i think that wont change until we get the superhornet mk2.
According to the ships page there no hard points at the ball and nose. I believe the to wing mounts are the only ones the ship will have. Which makes sense since it's a stealth.
thank you for making this video! also stat wise it sounds like the mk1 is better in most areas as it has a lower detection range, better missile options, higher health and from what i can tell the same speed while the main things you get from the mk2 is higher dps with the two size 4's and the 96 decoys
What I am going to be really curious about is how the Ghost Mk II stacks up against the Sabre once all can be tested in LIVE. As much as I love my Comet, I could see melting it towards this.
I traded in my Comet for this one. I just felt lately that the Sabre wasn’t doing it for me and wanted to try this one out and I loved it. It’ll go in my Polaris along side the F7A

It's extremely disappointing that the Ghost has zero new geometry other than the top module. The Tracker at least has a cool new nose, this one barely rates over a paintjob. It's also still not very stealthy, I think the gain is so tiny the drawbacks are definitely not worth it.
I liked the lens focal point on the intro being on your character....... but try to 'refocus' on the ship when you 'point the ship out behind you' and say it's name.
God I want the Ghost MkII so badly. I absolutely LOVE the aspects and ideas of stealth gameplay and prefer it way more than traditional joust fighting. Another amazing video, thank you Even!
Extra guns: YOu can either have 2 S1 on nose turret OR 1 S3, plus the ball turret you can have either2 S2 or 2 S3 (if you can get the turret form an F7A which you can't buy), and there is a Special S4 or S5 Puck that lets you put a S4 gun on top for 3 S4 and 1 S3 (though 2S4 and 3 S3 is best load if you can).; Alternatively, you can put nose turret with Strife mass drivers that have crazy range for snipping and okay damage. Question is, if you add the turret on top, does that mess with the stealth? is the cap that the Ghost have adding to its stealth?
No Gold Standard?, well that is a shame, many such as myself didn't check for that important ommision. Melted the F8 for the ''Gladius/Arrow and Buccaneer, and was hoping for a Ghost/Tracker, but not the vanilla F7AMKII. Thanks fo the heads up.
Still waiting for an honest to goodness take on the Starfury, even NASA loved it. I like this Mk2 Hornet, the lines are cleaner, the design less fussy despite having more wing bits than a swarm of bees. It's reminiscent of stealth and maintains an aggressive posture.

Im not a huge fan of the hornets, but that ghost is a sexy looking bird. Way to expensive for something that can only do dogfighting, but a nice-looking ship regardless. Also, they have got to chill on the sparks ballistics hits cause. That is blinding lol
Honestly, I love the new ghost. Will it be a bit of a glass cannon, yep, but will it be zippy for its class, yep. Paired with how low it can get it's EM down with stealth components, even with military shields, it's about on par with it's cross section which is already nice and low. Going to be a fun ship. Though, I'm not a big pvp'er, so on that stance I really have to wait and see, but for general missions, going to be fun... even if I have to refuel every jump lol
Its not much of a glass cannon considering its a hornet MKII (the whole class has alot of damage) but im glad they are swapping HP for speed and I actually hope the speed gets a buff even.
Also another comment, the current 700k quantum issnt as bad as you think, it can do many planetary jumps, but you cant really jump across the system twice without one refil
I really like the Mk II, but it should go through the gold standard, as you mentioned. I like how they kept the mk I in the game. I will probably try renting one and seeing how it is.

I was looking at getting a fighter, but after looking at my Corsair, it's basically a big clumsy fighter. I can get more dps than all the fighters I looked at trading my Corsair in for, and it has more hp. So I might just keep my Corsair.
I don't like the changes for the Corsair but I don't think it useless. I personally don't like the wings but the back cargo bay was way more convenient than the Connies. It's just that it came from a crazy strong solo position. I think in the end the Redeemer turned out OK too.

Currently its components aren’t not the correct ones so you are detectable much further than you should be. If you swap out the components with the proper stealth ones you drop down to 3-5k detectible range.
nope. the components aren't available at stores in-game. C5-173f turret should fit theoretically, if you have an F7A mk II lying around you should be able to source it from that.
Question. I have an F7A mkII. I have no reason whatsoever to look at the ghost stat wise correct? Because if I wanted a little more stealth, I could just swap components...
@@kevintsai8814 They do at least they have in the past. The hornet ghost should get a stealth increase based on the chasis. Putting all stealth components in a hornet doesn't make it to much less stealthy'r. The hornet ghost it will because of the chasis bonus. I've tried to load up on stealth components in a normal hornet and it didn't go down much. Now that was a year ago so much has probably changed since then.
The MK I is capable of 3111 sustained and 3600 burst. The shield can easily be replaced so there is no difference. As for the ship HP, always, always, always ignore total HP and look at HP of the vital parts. The mk I is 2550 each for nose and body, the mk II is 2750 each. MK I has 6000 extra missile damage potential. Even if the top and nose hardpoints could be used on the MK II, the sustained dps would be around 4000, assuming 'ammo and regen efficiency' is very high. So, for a 10% vitals HP gain, and 30% sus. dps gain if all hardpoints can eventually be used, you are expected to pay 32% more while losing 25% missile damage. That's an okay deal, not great. In its' current state it has 22% less sustained dps. That's a dealbreaker.
Let the flaming begin...this is not a troll...I like the look of the Mk I Hornets better, so I'm keeping mine. It's not a tracker, just a plain F7C, but I love it. I also like the Intrepid, so it may in fact my tastes that are error territory...
Nah set it up with tachyons and hard hitting size 4 on the ball turret. You could turn this into a sniper and shoot from 5k out or more and be totally invisible
nice ship can't wait to try it soon. Evenlease, did you realise the new patch released today just unlocked the entrance to guest waiting hall at IAE 2954 at Tobin Expo. I tried to buy some IAE T-shirt 👕 at the booth, then got kicked from the server. 🤣 The coffee maker no longer works in this new patch. But the overall gameplay is so smooth and graphics are more crisp. I think CIG just polished the game even more. I get 60-70 fps now compared to the old version I got 30-40fps. And the planets atmosphere loads beautifully. The inventory system works flawless now. If they refresh it to 4.0 patch on Thursday do you think it will get buggy again?
@cygnus6623 good to know. How was the verification download after the game crash? The verification download speed used to be 55-60 Megabytes per second. Now i get 350-850KByte seconds speed. I think the servers are on full bandwidth. That is good news as it shows people are downloading and excited to play the game. ☺️ What are you looking forward to at IAE 2054 this year?
its a bug, i assume the code for the fact that the f7a mk2 was stopped from putting its parts on the mk1 was mixed into the f7a mk2 not being able to put its parts on the variants of the same type.
Inexplicably, this stealth ship does not come with stealth components as stock. According to spviewer, It is also less stealthy than the Mk I, both as stock and if they are each given the best possible loadout. So apparently stealth technology at Anvil is getting worse, not better.
Im sure, CIG has good reason not to have given these ships ''Gold Standard'' atm, yet these are decent starter ships, waiting on the Heartseeker, should be nice.
Does the Mk II Ghost have a baked in 10% EM reduction due to the paint job like the Mk I? Love my Mk I and still have it. Hornet series (and my Gladiator) really give me that old school childhood fantasy vibe of those 70's and 80's Navy carrier aircraft. I like both the Mk I and Mk II but I do agree I wish the Mk I front engine intakes were tucked in a little bit. I hate that they made a Mk II with just outright larger gun mounts and I hope they don't just ignore the Mk I now that it isn't for sale. I don't want to get rid of it but it would suck to keep something for nostalgia that just isn't a viable option into the future.

Hate to say this, but I think the Mk1 Ghost is the better of the two. Might not look as good, but it is tougher, and those bigger missiles are perfect for ambushes. Sure, it has smaller guns, but it isn't always about the size of the gun, it's really what you do with it. Also, the Mk2 will be a lot more expensive. Likely this will be the same for the Tracker and the "M" too. This is good though because Mk1s are still relevant. I do have a F7A MkII and it's great. For me, that's the best Mk2 variant to aim for if you want one.
The Ghost is the one that might keep me from regretting not snagging an f7a upgrade because I didn't trust the servers and none of my friends were playing ahah
@EvenLease44 but you get my point about them creating a new stealth fighter when the first version of that stealth fighter was bought and sold and not finished? At least one of two things are wrong here.
no this will defenetly not be 120-140 my friend .. the mk2 normal is already much more expensive with 175 store credits, the ghost mk1 is 15 bucks more expensive than the regular hornet ( same for the tracker ) this thing will be 185-190 store credits so 165ish warbond
i mean yeah considering you cant get the f7a anymore through CIG means and the ghost and other variants will be available in-game, its pretty inevitable that it will be used more.

Mk1 hornets have that retro feel that I really like. Mk1 tracker is my absolute favourite, the ghost looks much better in mk2 though.

That health pool is likely inteded as balancing. The Ghosts in lore swap out normal armour for void armour ie less hp but now

Hold on for now, removing the cap doesn't change anything for now, and it's apparently hard to get the turrets

The original ghost was a really good deal, and often recommended as the go to Hornet, not sure this one is, time will tell. It looks cool though.

thats intentional, originally you could also put the f7a nose turret on them as well but they removed that.

How does it compare to the normal mk2? Does it have the same stats? (Other than the stealth aspect)
Do you lose stealth if you add the ball turret at the top?
Adding the ball turret it self has no change but when you add weapons to that it does take away a minor amount of stealth.

Exactly. At this time just get stealth components and that’ll work great for adding stealth.
I thought stealth ships get a bonus stealth % just from their chassis. I think most stealth ships get a 40% boost. Cpt foxy did some tests.

My most beloved stealth ships are still the Prowler & Raven and as the Hornet Ghost has 51 HP more than the Raven it's obviously OP!

So, for a 10% vitals HP gain, and 30% sus. dps gain if all hardpoints can eventually be used, you are expected to pay 32% more while losing 25% missile damage. That's an okay deal, not great. In its' current state it has 22% less sustained dps. That's a dealbreaker.
I doubt you'll be able to upgrade the ball in this one. It looks like that area is bespoke for the stealth-ey-ness. Just my guess.

Nah set it up with tachyons and hard hitting size 4 on the ball turret. You could turn this into a sniper and shoot from 5k out or more and be totally invisible

ball turret swaps are not working in 3.24.3
Believe that’s only with the base model, I was able to swap the top out with the ball turret this yesterday.
nice ship can't wait to try it soon. Evenlease, did you realise the new patch released today just unlocked the entrance to guest waiting hall at IAE 2954 at Tobin Expo. I tried to buy some IAE T-shirt 👕 at the booth, then got kicked from the server. 🤣 The coffee maker no longer works in this new patch. But the overall gameplay is so smooth and graphics are more crisp. I think CIG just polished the game even more. I get 60-70 fps now compared to the old version I got 30-40fps. And the planets atmosphere loads beautifully. The inventory system works flawless now. If they refresh it to 4.0 patch on Thursday do you think it will get buggy again?
I got booted multiple times (5) this morning...CTD. Then it did seem to work well. Hopefully that will not happen again.
@cygnus6623 good to know. How was the verification download after the game crash? The verification download speed used to be 55-60 Megabytes per second. Now i get 350-850KByte seconds speed. I think the servers are on full bandwidth. That is good news as it shows people are downloading and excited to play the game. ☺️ What are you looking forward to at IAE 2054 this year?

You cant change the ball turret or nose turret... 3.24.3 made sure of that (this goes for the F7C MKII and the F7A MKII as well).
That is only a bug. It’s being fixed.
@EvenLease44 maybe, CIG did say they didn't want F7A parts on an F7C, maybe they got carried away
its a bug, i assume the code for the fact that the f7a mk2 was stopped from putting its parts on the mk1 was mixed into the f7a mk2 not being able to put its parts on the variants of the same type.

Inexplicably, this stealth ship does not come with stealth components as stock. According to spviewer, It is also less stealthy than the Mk I, both as stock and if they are each given the best possible loadout. So apparently stealth technology at Anvil is getting worse, not better.
It's the trade-off for having those bigger weapons, I fear.
Im sure, CIG has good reason not to have given these ships ''Gold Standard'' atm, yet these are decent starter ships, waiting on the Heartseeker, should be nice.
Does the Mk II Ghost have a baked in 10% EM reduction due to the paint job like the Mk I? Love my Mk I and still have it. Hornet series (and my Gladiator) really give me that old school childhood fantasy vibe of those 70's and 80's Navy carrier aircraft. I like both the Mk I and Mk II but I do agree I wish the Mk I front engine intakes were tucked in a little bit. I hate that they made a Mk II with just outright larger gun mounts and I hope they don't just ignore the Mk I now that it isn't for sale. I don't want to get rid of it but it would suck to keep something for nostalgia that just isn't a viable option into the future.

Hate to say this, but I think the Mk1 Ghost is the better of the two. Might not look as good, but it is tougher, and those bigger missiles are perfect for ambushes. Sure, it has smaller guns, but it isn't always about the size of the gun, it's really what you do with it. Also, the Mk2 will be a lot more expensive. Likely this will be the same for the Tracker and the "M" too. This is good though because Mk1s are still relevant. I do have a F7A MkII and it's great. For me, that's the best Mk2 variant to aim for if you want one.
Ghost mark 1 was like, 20 dollars more than regular mark 1? I dont think will cost less than 190 dollars.

no this will defenetly not be 120-140 my friend .. the mk2 normal is already much more expensive with 175 store credits, the ghost mk1 is 15 bucks more expensive than the regular hornet ( same for the tracker ) this thing will be 185-190 store credits so 165ish warbond

i mean yeah considering you cant get the f7a anymore through CIG means and the ghost and other variants will be available in-game, its pretty inevitable that it will be used more.
