Just recently broke down and tried vampire survivors and very quickly went from "yeah, this is a fun little game. Maybe overhyped a little bit" to "Its 3am and I haven't slept because I just need one more run omg" it was dangerous haha. I also got hooked on the helicopter game back in the day where you just go up and down to avoid crashing and have to see how far you can make it. Vampire survivors gave me those vibes for some reason.

Just started Thymesia today, great AA game, also this was the year I've played and finished Dying Light 2, Shadow Warrior 3, Metro Exodus Dlcs, Transistor, The new MW2, High on life, F.E.A.R 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Scorn... This was the year I began to love and appreciate games again, after the pandemic I felt that gaming became a routine and escape instead of something I really enjoyed. Quitting multiplayer battlepass progression centric games was the best decision I made gaming related.

I don't see what's special about it, looks like a generic flash game on miniclip. Shredders Revenge on the other hand looks great and actually video game-y.
@@nimazsheik5152 sound like you didn't play it, i was thinking the same thing before i played it for the first time, the only thing for me was that if you play only it for 4 or 5 days it gets old reaaaally fast, but that's for me, you can try it on your phone for free, pay a really low price for xbox or pc or just try it out on gamepass.
Unlockables, powerups, checklists, and secrets. It was addictive to get everything unlocked. Once you get to that point, it's very boring. And I am not the type of person to restart/replay.
@@gustavohuehue7460 i was the exact same way. Like it's good, i had a fun time but christ is it repetitive. I was so sick of it after a few days. And the worst part is the better you get at it the longer it takes to play a level. It made me not want to play anymore after a while cause i knew it would be like 30 minutes just to try one level.
I've gotta thank you for turning me onto both Vampire Survivors and Rollerdrome this year. Two great games. One game I drop into the convo here is Tunic. As much as I loved Stray I think Tunic is just such a love letter to video games, the way that the manual is incorporated into story and gameplay is both a fantastic mechanic and a wonderful throwback to physical manuals. Even without that its a solid metroidvania with some deep exploration, combat, and story elements. The manual is really the cherry on top.

I got Horizon Forbidden West for Christmas and I'm loving it so far. 10 hours in and ironically I'm just now about to enter the Forbidden West lol. Can't wait to see what else the game has in store. It's so visually stunning and I just find myself in awe on numerous occasions.
A Plague Tale Requiem, not only looks gorgeous, but the voice acting, the story and the gut wrenching ending is just superb. Left me thinking about it for days after
I used to like it until Jim Sterling (narrator voice actor) decided to change gender due to his midlife crisis. So yeah can't play it anymore because i don't support mentally subnormal individuals.
@@mrhanky9719 it's different... but both are good. The first is much more about stealth and avoiding contact and is a bit shorter. The second has waaaay more combat and stealth room clearing in it. It also (my opinion) is a bit too long. But i'd say if you didn't like the first one, there is a chance you'd like this one but a small one. The tone, story, and gameplay is much the same, there's just a bunch more combat and action in this one.

It looks and performs TERRIBLY on the Series X and Series S. It looks much worse than the original Plagues Tale on the One X. LMAO It looks so bad on the Series X, that it's pixely and grainy with extreme motion blur from the sub 30fps rendering on a 120fps console. LMAO But these literal amoebas will keep defending the game. LMAO
Cult of the Lamb is the smaller release that got the most playtime out of me this year. Truly a fantastic game. I already admired Devolver’s games before. but this one solidifies it for me. 5 Stars.

Jake, thank you for the content, man. You and the Gameranx crew are easily my favorite video game sources on YT and I will watch basically anything y'all put out there. You're just very genuine with everything you do, and that's extremely hard to find on the Internet, but especially YT. So thank you. This year I've played Elden Ring, Ragnarok, Witcher 3 (Played and finished all of it and DLC before I even knew the update was coming, and it was my first ever Witcher game), Dying Light 2, Stray, Cult of the Lamb, Riders Republic, Shredder's Revenge, Sonic Mania, Sonic Origins, Yoshi's Crafted World, Kirby All Stars, Cuphead, and F1 2022. And while I played it last year, I'm also back into Hades lately to try to finish up the main storyline. Ragnarok is my number 1 of the year. It's one of the few games I've ever platinumed. I recognize Elden Ring as a masterpiece, and I did have fun with the 30 or so hours I put in, but I just can't do the grind. Totally get it being game of the year for people though. Also, holy hell am I glad I finally gave Witcher 3 a shot. Amazing game that lived up to the hype for me. Meanwhile, Stray was easily my favorite "chill" game I played this year. It was just its own vibe that totally worked for me. Shredder's Revenge was my biggest surprise for sure.

I loved Plague Tale, both games, the second just being a bigger, more active version of the first with a great story, setting & characters, it's technical issues marred the experience a little but not enough to take it out of the running as one of my favourites for the year.

Alright, got a recommendation. Got really into Sunless Sea this year, which is so strange for me, not usually my cup of tea. It's this early 19th century gothic sailing adventure with permadeath and a whole lot of reading, set in a massive underground ocean filled up with old forgotten gods and freaky beasts. It's incredibly... logistical? And that's the weirdest part, I actually LOVE that about it. I have to keep a notebook to remember all the shit that happens and keep track of what I can find at different ports, what the fuel prices are like at those ports, so I can plan trade routes and not run out of fuel, or turn my crew into cannibalistic psychos because I ran out of food and drove with the lights off for too long to conserve that fuel. It really forces you to be present with the world and soak in it, drink up every word, since the stakes are so high, and... going on a long voyage and barely making it back is INCREDIBLY STRESSFUL. The gameplay isn't really the draw, though, it's the writing and worldbuilding. They're just stunning. Haven't felt so fascinated by a world in a long, long time. All these random, unimportant characters are constantly referencing in-universe folktales and well known ghost stories about people and gods who you will probably encounter at some point, personally... and ya know, for a game where most storytelling essentially ceases for gameplay and the stories only really starts again when you dock on ISLANDS miles and miles away from each other, the game's world doesn't feel segmented. It feels alive, and in communication with itself--it's deeply odd, sinister, but... kind of, morbidly whimsical? Funny, too; the whole reason London is underground is they lost a war against BATS, and the bats stole London underground--the game is really dark, but... also operating on a very fun fairytale logic. Helps balance the tone. It's a really weird one, and it takes some commitment, but like--you don't _have_ to keep a notebook, that's just something I'm doing personally. It doesn't cost that much, I really recommend checking it out, even if you think you won't enjoy it. Boot it up! Learn the basics, sail around... enjoy the world and it's pretty nice art and great music, then die horribly... and drop it, if that's what you choose. (but if anything got you curious... keep going! just one more run!) Or you could play the sequel, Sunless Skies which has STUNNING art and much, MUCH better combat. That's probably a safer bet, but--I haven't played it yet.
Finally played Last of Us one and 2 and really loved the story and how much it made me see things from the different sides of the characters. Thanks for all the great recommendations in this video.

Elec Head! I grew up on platformers, and Elec Head really embraces that old NES/DOS era of platforming and puzzling aspects. It has basically one core mechanic, and they juice it to do some really clever things that hit a really good sweet spot between "Damn, I rock, I'm smashing through this" to "Phew, that was tricky, damn I'm smart" levels of pleasing the brain

This was a great year for gaming, Dying Light 2 was an awesome sequel to one of my favorite games, Elden Ring got me into soulsborne which I never thought would happen, God of War Ragnarok fixed and improved on 2018 in almost every way, Christopher Judge really shined with the more open and emotional Kratos. And Saints Row gave me a new coaster for my drinks so i can stay hydrated while i’m slaying Einherjar!
I grew up in the 80s at the height of the arcades and the beginning of the consoles. I remember going to the arcade and spending 6-7 hours there playing all the games there with my friends. I'm so old now at 52 lol. Elden Rings, Blacktail, Slime Ranchers 2, Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Farthest Frontier were some of games I really loved playing this past year.
The new hit man trilogy was really fun to play through this year for me. Exploring the levels and assassination options is weirdly relaxing. Also Sifu was everything I wanted it to be and it is the first game I’ve ever platinumed on PlayStation

Cult of the Lamb was prob my favorite this year. While it wasn't much of a story, it had a satisfying end point beating the final boss, but also replay-ability factor. Vampire Survivors is great, but i don't find it quite as satisfying/accomplishing, probably more addictive though. I also got around to playing Control this year, and i'm really glad I did. Those were probably my favorites of the year. Thanks for the great vids! I just started watching you and gameranx in the last year or two.

I played so many games this year, some old, some new. But I think the most surprising experience for me was Prey (2017). As a person who doesn't care for horror games, in fact I actively avoid them, I can't say what convinced me to push forward with this one. I only considered it after playing through Deathloop and the Dishonored series. I has enjoyed so much of what Arcane did in those other games I had to see what Prey was all about and I was shocked and very much impressed with the experience.

I'm a casual gamer who loves to keep up with all the industry developments. This year, I bought my first console since the Dreamcast times (bought the PS5) and have been having fun with all the "classics" that I missed in the past few years. I played TLOU 1, Horizon ZD, Marvels Spider-Man and Miles Morales, GTA V, Ratch and Clank 2016, Astro Playroom, Lego Harry Potter... Hi Jake my favourite game of this year is the division Resurgence on mobile I live in Wales UK shout out lol and I had access to the closed beta and it was just as amazing as the division 1 side note your character talks and it makes a huge difference in the story mode but you will find out next year if you decide to play it on your mobile when it finally releases

My favorite games of this year was Elden Ring, which did live up to the hype and Evil West, which actually surpassed my expectations to the point where I even 100% the game. Loved Evil West and hope for a sequel.

I know it didn't come out this year, but I loved Octopath Traveler so much. Something about 8 short videogame stories really hits for me. My favourite that came out this year though, probably GOW Ragnarok. I really liked the story and the combat is much more my flavour than the souls-like games. Really excited to see where the next game goes.

i agree with most of your games, loved cult of the lamb and neon white is amazing. vampire survivors is fun but also enjoyed brotato, project lazarus and soulstone survivors in the same genre. a big one i loved this year was inscription and really enjoyed it and have played so much more since i got my deck in september its a real game changer for me having a family. happy new year and keep up the great content
I got back into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series this year after not playing them for a while and it is shocking how well even the first still holds up, if you have not played those games you owe it to yourself to give it a try. With the winter sale you can get the whole series for like $15 on steam

Really happy you mentioned marvel Snap, as a big hearthstone and mtga player the game blew me away. The Snap mechanic gives it a poker feel that allows you to progress in rank even if your deck isn't the best, there's a ton of deck variety and, as far as free to play mobile games go, the monetization is surprisingly restrained and reasonable, as you said it doesn't feel predatory. 100% deserved mobile GOTY.
Valheim and Shakedown Hawaii were the two games I played the most and loved the most this year. I got Valheim right when it came out but still played it the most out of all other games. 2nd was Shakedown Hawaii. That game is a few years old, but well worth playing. Very enjoyable, and funny!

25 minutes of Jake to wrap the year? Tis a good day. My top few I played this year. - Horizon Forbidden West: Still actually working on it, 14 main quests in, but I can not get enough of the world, and the combat and the MUSIC. My game of the year hands down. - R&C Rift Apart: My first Ratchet and Clank game, and what a wholesome, beautiful and fun would. Surprisingly good story and just a feels good game that was also welcomingly short. - THPS 1/2 Remaster: Played the originals only a bit at cousins’ back in the day so it was great to sit down with the remaster and get to properly experience it for myself in lovely visuals and 60fps. A great game I plan to go back and platinum, feel like I could finally go connect myself to the legacy the ProSkater games have. Also a game based on tricks and high scores and something I could play with my brain turned off was lovely after 150 hours of Elden Ring. - Forza Horizon 5: Friggin love racing games in short bursts, and FH5 was it this year. Picked up a G920 wheel as well and the combo has been awesome. Happy New Year, man!
Forbidden West is my personal GOTY even though weve had so many. The graphics are by far the best ive ever seen and it takes the open world formula and gives you an S-tier version of it. The side quests are all engaging and well written that i forget im even doing just mundane tasks. Im really excited for whatever Guerrilla decides to do down the line and cant wait for call of the mountain
For 2022, my games were Ghost of Tsushima & Elden Ring. For Elden Ring, everything was already said and I don't have much to add. Great game and deserving of the awards for 2022. But Ghost of Tsushima... Really late to the party for this one but it hit hard for me. I can't relate enough with Jin throughout the game. A really good character. Loved the world, the exploration, the aw inspiring moments. But what hit really hard was the loss of a really close character to Jin. I had to deal with a very similar loss myself and damn... it made me cry way too much than I would have liked to admit. 2022 was a good year for gaming and am already looking forward for more great gems in 2023. I just finished Spiritfarer, and it’s easily the best game I’ve played in 2022. It’s beautiful and sweet, and really transcends the gaming medium with its theme.
I've mentioned elsewhere that you turned me onto Vampire Survivors (which I've been playing on mobile) - but I just heard you say it was on Steam! Bought it last night, played it non-stop until after the sun came up! So much better with a controller and so very very addictive!
Plagues Tale: Requiem is definitely one of the best well told and emotional journeys i've been on in gaming. Also, it is one of the most beautiful games of the year.

Currently trying to get the 100% with High On Life, looked forward to it since I saw the release date announcement and it hasn’t disappointed me. Tunic was a great game, with plenty of secrets to uncover. I think though, that the game I’ve enjoyed the most this year has been Tinykin, just loads of fun, great mechanics and a relaxing little fetch platformer.
I'm suprised at how much I've loved Marvel Snap. I've never been a card game guy, no Pokemon or MTG for this old gamer, but this game is a blast for a quick pick up and play a round (and another, and another). I haven't spent a dime yet, and unless there's a season pass I just can't live without, I probably won't.
Happy New Year Jake :D My favorite games this year: 1. Road Redemption - Caught back up to it, the devs have added a lot of features since the launch, it's so much fun! 2. IXION - Frostpunk in space and it's actually good! 3. Hitman 3 with access for H1 and H2 - Probably my most played game this year, can't go wrong with the new trilogy! 4. Hotline Miami 1&2, specially HM1 - I always observed it from a distance, bopped to the incredible music but never got around to play them, did so this year and my god is that game addictive or what, probably the best thing about it is how the game encourages you to play more dangerously by controlling the fun factor directly through the adrenaline rush you get when you go executing goons in sequence without dying to this amazing suite of music, just way too satisfying. Aside from the jewel of a gameplay, there's a really really sincere and interesting story and world building happening in the background, diving into the lore is like peanut butter icing on your chocolate cake!
I played so many games this year, especially ones that came out before 2022. I played Sekiro for the first time and can't stop thinking about it even after my first playthrough. It felt satisfying performing a perfect parry and beating an difficult boss.
My favorite games I played in 2022: - Elden Ring - Red Dead 2 - Need For Speed Unbound - Mario Party Superstars - Horizon Forbidden West - Replayed Spiderman, still incredible - Dishonored 2 - Rogue Company and I just started playing Vampire Survivor and it's pretty fun.

Also, there are many AA project coming from small developers who are passionate about how games used to be(like OG IGI), or who want to try new game by combining unique ideas. I have played SO much vampire survivors, way more than I ever thought I would. Sniper elite 5 is a big one for me this year, had a blast with it. Cult of the lamb and midnight suns, both standouts too. This year was solid but next should be even better. A lot to look forward too, especially in feb.

Recently been playing Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Since I actually never got to play the first 2 games until now lol
Just recently broke down and tried vampire survivors and very quickly went from "yeah, this is a fun little game. Maybe overhyped a little bit" to "Its 3am and I haven't slept because I just need one more run omg" it was dangerous haha. I also got hooked on the helicopter game back in the day where you just go up and down to avoid crashing and have to see how far you can make it. Vampire survivors gave me those vibes for some reason.

Just started Thymesia today, great AA game, also this was the year I've played and finished Dying Light 2, Shadow Warrior 3, Metro Exodus Dlcs, Transistor, The new MW2, High on life, F.E.A.R 2, Cyberpunk 2077 and Scorn... This was the year I began to love and appreciate games again, after the pandemic I felt that gaming became a routine and escape instead of something I really enjoyed. Quitting multiplayer battlepass progression centric games was the best decision I made gaming related.

Vampire survivors is the most video game-y game because of the lack of 3d graphics and the amazing power ups! Feels like an arcade classic
I don't see what's special about it, looks like a generic flash game on miniclip. Shredders Revenge on the other hand looks great and actually video game-y.
@@nimazsheik5152 sound like you didn't play it, i was thinking the same thing before i played it for the first time, the only thing for me was that if you play only it for 4 or 5 days it gets old reaaaally fast, but that's for me, you can try it on your phone for free, pay a really low price for xbox or pc or just try it out on gamepass.

Unlockables, powerups, checklists, and secrets.
It was addictive to get everything unlocked. Once you get to that point, it's very boring. And I am not the type of person to restart/replay.
@@gustavohuehue7460 i was the exact same way. Like it's good, i had a fun time but christ is it repetitive. I was so sick of it after a few days. And the worst part is the better you get at it the longer it takes to play a level. It made me not want to play anymore after a while cause i knew it would be like 30 minutes just to try one level.
I've gotta thank you for turning me onto both Vampire Survivors and Rollerdrome this year. Two great games. One game I drop into the convo here is Tunic. As much as I loved Stray I think Tunic is just such a love letter to video games, the way that the manual is incorporated into story and gameplay is both a fantastic mechanic and a wonderful throwback to physical manuals. Even without that its a solid metroidvania with some deep exploration, combat, and story elements. The manual is really the cherry on top.

I got Horizon Forbidden West for Christmas and I'm loving it so far. 10 hours in and ironically I'm just now about to enter the Forbidden West lol. Can't wait to see what else the game has in store. It's so visually stunning and I just find myself in awe on numerous occasions.

A Plague Tale Requiem, not only looks gorgeous, but the voice acting, the story and the gut wrenching ending is just superb. Left me thinking about it for days after
I used to like it until Jim Sterling (narrator voice actor) decided to change gender due to his midlife crisis. So yeah can't play it anymore because i don't support mentally subnormal individuals.

@@mrhanky9719 it's different... but both are good. The first is much more about stealth and avoiding contact and is a bit shorter. The second has waaaay more combat and stealth room clearing in it. It also (my opinion) is a bit too long. But i'd say if you didn't like the first one, there is a chance you'd like this one but a small one. The tone, story, and gameplay is much the same, there's just a bunch more combat and action in this one.

It looks and performs TERRIBLY on the Series X and Series S. It looks much worse than the original Plagues Tale on the One X. LMAO It looks so bad on the Series X, that it's pixely and grainy with extreme motion blur from the sub 30fps rendering on a 120fps console. LMAO
But these literal amoebas will keep defending the game. LMAO
Rollerdrome I felt was the most fun I had, I really hope they follow up and expand on the genius of that game.
I wish it did more for me. I was really disappointed by it. Felt too… locked down
Cult of the Lamb is the smaller release that got the most playtime out of me this year. Truly a fantastic game. I already admired Devolver’s games before. but this one solidifies it for me. 5 Stars.

Jake, thank you for the content, man. You and the Gameranx crew are easily my favorite video game sources on YT and I will watch basically anything y'all put out there. You're just very genuine with everything you do, and that's extremely hard to find on the Internet, but especially YT. So thank you.
This year I've played Elden Ring, Ragnarok, Witcher 3 (Played and finished all of it and DLC before I even knew the update was coming, and it was my first ever Witcher game), Dying Light 2, Stray, Cult of the Lamb, Riders Republic, Shredder's Revenge, Sonic Mania, Sonic Origins, Yoshi's Crafted World, Kirby All Stars, Cuphead, and F1 2022. And while I played it last year, I'm also back into Hades lately to try to finish up the main storyline.
Ragnarok is my number 1 of the year. It's one of the few games I've ever platinumed. I recognize Elden Ring as a masterpiece, and I did have fun with the 30 or so hours I put in, but I just can't do the grind. Totally get it being game of the year for people though. Also, holy hell am I glad I finally gave Witcher 3 a shot. Amazing game that lived up to the hype for me.
Meanwhile, Stray was easily my favorite "chill" game I played this year. It was just its own vibe that totally worked for me. Shredder's Revenge was my biggest surprise for sure.
I'm so glad SIGNALIS is getting more and more recognition. It's honestly my GOTY when it comes to single player games.
My favorite this year was definitely Stray with God of War Ragnarok following close behind. Honorable mention: Tiny Tina, A Plague Tale-Requiem.
Jake is one of those folks who I could listen to for hours upon hours and never get bored, keep up the great content!

I loved Plague Tale, both games, the second just being a bigger, more active version of the first with a great story, setting & characters, it's technical issues marred the experience a little but not enough to take it out of the running as one of my favourites for the year.

Alright, got a recommendation. Got really into Sunless Sea this year, which is so strange for me, not usually my cup of tea. It's this early 19th century gothic sailing adventure with permadeath and a whole lot of reading, set in a massive underground ocean filled up with old forgotten gods and freaky beasts.
It's incredibly... logistical? And that's the weirdest part, I actually LOVE that about it. I have to keep a notebook to remember all the shit that happens and keep track of what I can find at different ports, what the fuel prices are like at those ports, so I can plan trade routes and not run out of fuel, or turn my crew into cannibalistic psychos because I ran out of food and drove with the lights off for too long to conserve that fuel. It really forces you to be present with the world and soak in it, drink up every word, since the stakes are so high, and... going on a long voyage and barely making it back is INCREDIBLY STRESSFUL.
The gameplay isn't really the draw, though, it's the writing and worldbuilding. They're just stunning. Haven't felt so fascinated by a world in a long, long time. All these random, unimportant characters are constantly referencing in-universe folktales and well known ghost stories about people and gods who you will probably encounter at some point, personally... and ya know, for a game where most storytelling essentially ceases for gameplay and the stories only really starts again when you dock on ISLANDS miles and miles away from each other, the game's world doesn't feel segmented. It feels alive, and in communication with itself--it's deeply odd, sinister, but... kind of, morbidly whimsical? Funny, too; the whole reason London is underground is they lost a war against BATS, and the bats stole London underground--the game is really dark, but... also operating on a very fun fairytale logic. Helps balance the tone.
It's a really weird one, and it takes some commitment, but like--you don't _have_ to keep a notebook, that's just something I'm doing personally. It doesn't cost that much, I really recommend checking it out, even if you think you won't enjoy it. Boot it up! Learn the basics, sail around... enjoy the world and it's pretty nice art and great music, then die horribly... and drop it, if that's what you choose. (but if anything got you curious... keep going! just one more run!)
Or you could play the sequel, Sunless Skies which has STUNNING art and much, MUCH better combat. That's probably a safer bet, but--I haven't played it yet.

I grew up on platformers, and Elec Head really embraces that old NES/DOS era of platforming and puzzling aspects. It has basically one core mechanic, and they juice it to do some really clever things that hit a really good sweet spot between "Damn, I rock, I'm smashing through this" to "Phew, that was tricky, damn I'm smart" levels of pleasing the brain

This was a great year for gaming, Dying Light 2 was an awesome sequel to one of my favorite games, Elden Ring got me into soulsborne which I never thought would happen,
God of War Ragnarok fixed and improved on 2018 in almost every way, Christopher Judge really shined with the more open and emotional Kratos.
And Saints Row gave me a new coaster for my drinks so i can stay hydrated while i’m slaying Einherjar!
I’m so dumb I was so confused how anyone enjoyed the new saints row enough to get a coaster based on it; then I used my brain
Dying light 2 was awful compared to the first.
I grew up in the 80s at the height of the arcades and the beginning of the consoles. I remember going to the arcade and spending 6-7 hours there playing all the games there with my friends. I'm so old now at 52 lol.
Elden Rings, Blacktail, Slime Ranchers 2, Dragon Quest Builders 2 and Farthest Frontier were some of games I really loved playing this past year.
The new hit man trilogy was really fun to play through this year for me. Exploring the levels and assassination options is weirdly relaxing. Also Sifu was everything I wanted it to be and it is the first game I’ve ever platinumed on PlayStation
Oh yeah big time. Those new Hitman games are exactly what I wanted from them. I need to go back to Sifu and dive in. I made it to the third boss I think and then stopped.

Cult of the Lamb was prob my favorite this year. While it wasn't much of a story, it had a satisfying end point beating the final boss, but also replay-ability factor. Vampire Survivors is great, but i don't find it quite as satisfying/accomplishing, probably more addictive though. I also got around to playing Control this year, and i'm really glad I did. Those were probably my favorites of the year. Thanks for the great vids! I just started watching you and gameranx in the last year or two.

I played so many games this year, some old, some new. But I think the most surprising experience for me was Prey (2017). As a person who doesn't care for horror games, in fact I actively avoid them, I can't say what convinced me to push forward with this one. I only considered it after playing through Deathloop and the Dishonored series. I has enjoyed so much of what Arcane did in those other games I had to see what Prey was all about and I was shocked and very much impressed with the experience.
The stuff they added into Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe was amazing! Such a great surprise as a long time fan of the game.

I'm a casual gamer who loves to keep up with all the industry developments. This year, I bought my first console since the Dreamcast times (bought the PS5) and have been having fun with all the "classics" that I missed in the past few years. I played TLOU 1, Horizon ZD, Marvels Spider-Man and Miles Morales, GTA V, Ratch and Clank 2016, Astro Playroom, Lego Harry Potter... Hi Jake my favourite game of this year is the division Resurgence on mobile I live in Wales UK shout out lol and I had access to the closed beta and it was just as amazing as the division 1 side note your character talks and it makes a huge difference in the story mode but you will find out next year if you decide to play it on your mobile when it finally releases

My favorite games of this year was Elden Ring, which did live up to the hype and Evil West, which actually surpassed my expectations to the point where I even 100% the game. Loved Evil West and hope for a sequel.

I know it didn't come out this year, but I loved Octopath Traveler so much. Something about 8 short videogame stories really hits for me.
My favourite that came out this year though, probably GOW Ragnarok. I really liked the story and the combat is much more my flavour than the souls-like games. Really excited to see where the next game goes.

played through tmnt with a full group of friends at college one night and we ended up beating all the levels before we even realized we were into the game lol. Made for some great coop memories and it was very unexpected for a random game pass download

i agree with most of your games, loved cult of the lamb and neon white is amazing. vampire survivors is fun but also enjoyed brotato, project lazarus and soulstone survivors in the same genre. a big one i loved this year was inscription and really enjoyed it and have played so much more since i got my deck in september its a real game changer for me having a family. happy new year and keep up the great content
Going through The Witcher 3 again. That and Spider Man Miles Morales are my two best games this year.

I got back into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series this year after not playing them for a while and it is shocking how well even the first still holds up, if you have not played those games you owe it to yourself to give it a try. With the winter sale you can get the whole series for like $15 on steam

Really happy you mentioned marvel Snap, as a big hearthstone and mtga player the game blew me away. The Snap mechanic gives it a poker feel that allows you to progress in rank even if your deck isn't the best, there's a ton of deck variety and, as far as free to play mobile games go, the monetization is surprisingly restrained and reasonable, as you said it doesn't feel predatory. 100% deserved mobile GOTY.
Valheim and Shakedown Hawaii were the two games I played the most and loved the most this year. I got Valheim right when it came out but still played it the most out of all other games. 2nd was Shakedown Hawaii. That game is a few years old, but well worth playing. Very enjoyable, and funny!

My top few I played this year.
- Horizon Forbidden West: Still actually working on it, 14 main quests in, but I can not get enough of the world, and the combat and the MUSIC. My game of the year hands down.
- R&C Rift Apart: My first Ratchet and Clank game, and what a wholesome, beautiful and fun would. Surprisingly good story and just a feels good game that was also welcomingly short.
- THPS 1/2 Remaster: Played the originals only a bit at cousins’ back in the day so it was great to sit down with the remaster and get to properly experience it for myself in lovely visuals and 60fps. A great game I plan to go back and platinum, feel like I could finally go connect myself to the legacy the ProSkater games have. Also a game based on tricks and high scores and something I could play with my brain turned off was lovely after 150 hours of Elden Ring.
- Forza Horizon 5: Friggin love racing games in short bursts, and FH5 was it this year. Picked up a G920 wheel as well and the combo has been awesome.

Forbidden West is my personal GOTY even though weve had so many. The graphics are by far the best ive ever seen and it takes the open world formula and gives you an S-tier version of it. The side quests are all engaging and well written that i forget im even doing just mundane tasks.
Im really excited for whatever Guerrilla decides to do down the line and cant wait for call of the mountain

This year was pretty bad for gaming, not that many good games, and mostly bad or broken games came out this year.
In the AAA world yes. Plenty more games though
i finally got around to playing Hades this past week as a christmas present and i’m in love with it.
For 2022, my games were Ghost of Tsushima & Elden Ring. For Elden Ring, everything was already said and I don't have much to add. Great game and deserving of the awards for 2022. But Ghost of Tsushima... Really late to the party for this one but it hit hard for me.
I can't relate enough with Jin throughout the game. A really good character. Loved the world, the exploration, the aw inspiring moments.
But what hit really hard was the loss of a really close character to Jin. I had to deal with a very similar loss myself and damn... it made me cry way too much than I would have liked to admit.
2022 was a good year for gaming and am already looking forward for more great gems in 2023.

Plagues Tale: Requiem is definitely one of the best well told and emotional journeys i've been on in gaming. Also, it is one of the most beautiful games of the year.

Glad you gave Rollerdrome constant shoutouts because I probably wouldn't have known about it otherwise and I bought it and really enjoy it!
Currently trying to get the 100% with High On Life, looked forward to it since I saw the release date announcement and it hasn’t disappointed me. Tunic was a great game, with plenty of secrets to uncover. I think though, that the game I’ve enjoyed the most this year has been Tinykin, just loads of fun, great mechanics and a relaxing little fetch platformer.
I'm suprised at how much I've loved Marvel Snap. I've never been a card game guy, no Pokemon or MTG for this old gamer, but this game is a blast for a quick pick up and play a round (and another, and another). I haven't spent a dime yet, and unless there's a season pass I just can't live without, I probably won't.

My favorite games this year:
1. Road Redemption - Caught back up to it, the devs have added a lot of features since the launch, it's so much fun!
2. IXION - Frostpunk in space and it's actually good!
3. Hitman 3 with access for H1 and H2 - Probably my most played game this year, can't go wrong with the new trilogy!
4. Hotline Miami 1&2, specially HM1 - I always observed it from a distance, bopped to the incredible music but never got around to play them, did so this year and my god is that game addictive or what, probably the best thing about it is how the game encourages you to play more dangerously by controlling the fun factor directly through the adrenaline rush you get when you go executing goons in sequence without dying to this amazing suite of music, just way too satisfying. Aside from the jewel of a gameplay, there's a really really sincere and interesting story and world building happening in the background, diving into the lore is like peanut butter icing on your chocolate cake!
I played so many games this year, especially ones that came out before 2022. I played Sekiro for the first time and can't stop thinking about it even after my first playthrough. It felt satisfying performing a perfect parry and beating an difficult boss.
The art style for Rollerdrome looks soo good

My games this year are probably ready or not it’s just incredible and keeps getting improved and I love satisfactory and the support it’s getting as well as hell let loose taking more life on
Also, there are many AA project coming from small developers who are passionate about how games used to be(like OG IGI), or who want to try new game by combining unique ideas. It'd be nice to support and cover them on the channel. I can share the Live show with the whole list. They look pretty amazing.
I have played SO much vampire survivors, way more than I ever thought I would. Sniper elite 5 is a big one for me this year, had a blast with it. Cult of the lamb and midnight suns, both standouts too. This year was solid but next should be even better. A lot to look forward too, especially in feb.
