- In this video, I'll try to fix the state and territory flags, similar to the previous US states flags video, starting with Queensland which has their maltese cross and crown on their badge, New South Wales has The Waratah, which is the state's flower, Victoria has a beautiful Aboriginal symbol. Western Australia has a black swan. South Australia has the white backed magpie, Tasmania's animal, the Tasmanian devil. The Australian capital territory's flag has these cool swans, The northern territory's flag and Jervis Bay territory, has a traditional Aboriginal line art design and the southern cross for the Australian feel

Which one was your favorite? And which one should we do next? Canada? France? Mexico? England?
My favorite one was definitely Western Australia. For the next one I would like to see redesigns for Mexico's state flags.

Just a comment, the animal on the Tassie flag you've put is the Tiger (Thylacine) believed to be extinct. Not the Tasmanian devil. Still a good choice for the flag for Tasmania
Jervis Bay is *gorgeous*! Heck, the fact you recognize that territory even exists is amazing. Most Aussies haven't heard of it!

These look awesome! I like the common theme that most of them shared and the curves in the flags’ designs. I can’t think of one off the top of my head that uses curves like that and though I’ve never been there, I think it feels Australian.

I hope you realise the Tasmanian devil and thylacine (commonly know as Tasmanian Tiger) are very different animals, still great flag designs though

sorry to nit pic, but at 2:30 you got a tasmanian tiger up. they went extinct in 1936. it's still a really good thing to have on the flag, to commemorate the animal. but it's not the Tasmanian devil.
Honestly just make the Queensland flag entirely Maroon; they will lap it up
So just like the old Gaddafi Libyan flag but instead of Green make it all just an empty maroon banner

The reason the flags look like that is that they're all parts of a whole (see the design similarities) and that they are derived from the British Colonial Flags. I personally like the real flags
The current ones are dull and not as distinctive as one might hope. Plus I love how the redesigns incorporate traditional art. Imo it elevates the flags and make them more specific (to Australia and her history)
@@DB-me7ol to each their own opinion, but I personally like how the real ones all fit together to kinda form the national flag
