Also, what do you think of the fact that many of Matthew's teachings from the Sermon on the Mount are spread across Luke's Gospel instead of concentrated in Luke's Sermon of the Plain? Could the Sermon on the Mount as present on Matthew be a literary construction? Or it literally happened but Luke recorded other ocassions where Jesus said similar sayings to some of the Sermon? Those are a couple of questions I have about Luke's use or a Matthew-like source and the Sermon on the Mount (unless he didn't use Matthew at all and the info came from direct eyewitness interviews?) I'm not a scholar, so take this with a grain of salt, but here's my theory on the Synoptic gospels: Matthew was the first to write his gospel in Judea, writing a Hebrew or Aramaic version and a Greek version. When Peter was going to Rome (around 57 AD, after the letter to the Romans but before Paul returned to Judea), he had Mark write a less Jewish, more simple Gospel that would be easier to preach to Gentiles. He then took this with him to Rome. When Paul and Luke came back to Judea, Luke spoke with eyewitnesses, learnt oral traditions, and perhaps read the Gospel of Matthew. Once Paul and Luke came to Rome, Luke wrote his gospel using Mark as a base, supplementing it with extra material he had learnt.

Hi, IP.
Do you think Luke utilized Matthew, or the Aramaic Matthew as a source?
Also, what do you think of the fact that many of Matthew's teachings from the Sermon on the Mount are spread across Luke's Gospel instead of concentrated in Luke's Sermon of the Plain? Could the Sermon on the Mount as present on Matthew be a literary construction? Or it literally happened but Luke recorded other ocassions where Jesus said similar sayings to some of the Sermon?
Those are a couple of questions I have about Luke's use or a Matthew-like source and the Sermon on the Mount (unless he didn't use Matthew at all and the info came from direct eyewitness interviews?)
God bless you and thank you for these videos, they have really helped strenght my faith in Jesus. 🙏🏼📖
Mike do you have an email so we can ask you questions in relation to Catholicism and early church father history? For Instance what books you'd recommend for Early Apostolic father church history. Thanks in advance
I'm not a scholar, so take this with a grain of salt, but here's my theory on the Synoptic gospels:
Matthew was the first to write his gospel in Judea, writing a Hebrew or Aramaic version and a Greek version.
What if Luke was one of the Greeks who came seeking Jesus in John?
Probably not
@@InspiringPhilosophy it would be cool, you gotta admit.
@perfectblindguy We don't know if he did.
Do you have any videos addressing the claim Halloween originated in Egypt?
Hey there Michael! Great name!
Would you be interested in covering some of the points brought up in Alex O'Connor's podcast with Dr. Justin Sludge? I'd like to see a Christian's perspective
The Trinity and Origen part of the interview is pretty interesting to me (someone who has never heard of the influence of Greek philosophy on Christianity)
Can you respond to "The Myth Of The Christian Trinity"
IP, will you speak on if John 21 is a later addition when your video on John comes out? I'm currently struggling with the issue.
Good evidence for historical memory in Luke, but I think Robin Faith Walsh and James Tabor have a more accurate view of Luke in context with ancient Mediterranean literature.
Is that a Lutheran study bible i see at 1:30 👀
He is lutheran by the way
He is Lutheran
@@matt66716he is most likely not
IP probably doesnt have a denomination
He believes alot of things that contradict every denomination
For example
He believes in monarchical trinitarianism which only EO believe yet he has a Protestant aproach to apologetics.
@@JesusPerez-wd3tq he once said in a livestream that he’s a high church Protestant also he follows a bunch of lutheran accounts on twitter
@@JesusPerez-wd3tq Wouldn’t this still be some form of protestantism though? Not saying this is the case for IP but “non denominational” churches are typically just evangelical or pentecostal in disguise lol
The issue of onomastic congruence makes me wonder how other ancient religious texts compare. Do the vedas, the Koran or hadiths have similar congruence or does the lack thereof indicate fabrication or later authorship?
Question: Does Luke’s prologue have to demand a title of Luke gave it to Theophilus in-person?
He wouldn't title it as too Theophilus in that case.
Great job mate. God bless you
Allah?
