- A Unique Petrol Lighter Restored from World War II.
Today I am restoring a special lighter from the Second World War. It was created by a Russian soldier, from improvised means, during the siege of Leningrad, which lasted 872 days.
It was a very difficult time. The main food for people was bread. The daily norm for workers is 250 grams, for other residents 125 grams!!!(☹️) When the grain supply ran out, sawdust was added to the flour to add volume, and then paper.
I don't think we can now imagine what life was like in the besieged city.
The relatives of this soldier gave me this lighter for restoration.
I did not betray her modern gloss, I tried to keep all the old patina. Even the flint wheel worked, so I kept that as well.
I really liked the result of my work, and I hope you do too!
Thanks for watching!!! See you in a week!
Best regards, Max!❤️

Очень крутое видео. Эта зажигалка, наверное, хранила много секретов, а может даже была свидетелем важнейших событий! 🔥

its so Crispy yahh😅
I call BS! It's probably a post war souvenir marketed to veterans. It doesn't matter what the person who gave it to you said.
It was obviously made in a machine shop, not trench made or homemade. The knurling was probably done on a lathe. Try looking at the details & don't fall for unsubstantiated stories.

Hi Max, me and the other half are new subscribers.
My boyfriend (Wayne) was just like yourself when he was a kid. He was not interested in the fact that toys worked, he wanted to know HOW they worked. But he could not get them back together on Boxing Day!🫣🫣😄😄 His mum and dad despaired of him back then!🤔😃😃😃
Now he's 52, there is not much that he cannot put back together, and get it working again. He has qualifications coming out of his ears!
Stuff Putin, and ALL STAY SAFE YOUR END!
GOD SAVE, AND PROTECT RUSSIA!

during the Second World War, Soviet soldiers called this handmade lighter "Katyusha"
Во время Великой отечественной наши cолдаты называли такую самодельную зажигалку "Катюша".
