  • I made this video to alert people of the possible dangers of using a class vacuum thermos flask. Tread with caution when using this type of flask. I took all the precautions and really looked after this flask yet still had a broken failed flask. I still have a irritating throat from swallowing the particles, and have been eating lots of porridge with wheat germ and wheat bran. My throat is still irritating so a hospital visit will be required for health safety checks

I'm not from the USA and we had bought a similar one to keep baby's water hot for his bottles. It lasted 8 days only and broke as my bf was pouring boiled water to store. We're gonna buy a steel one next. Glad to know we didn't do anything wrong g

I'm from the UK and purchased mine from a local Sainsbury's supermarket. I know a product can fail but don't like the way Thermos dealt with my issue. I will not only never purchase a Thermos glass vacuum flask again, I also have no confidence in purchasing any items from Thermos again. They failed one of their customers.
Before this incident I use to purchase Thermos flasks since I was age 12 from 1973 and glass Thermos flasks from around 1985-86. I use to go on hikes in Scotland, Wales, Lake district and used my flask for hot drinks and cold drinks. My parents have purchased thermos flasks even before I was born in 1961. I now use Stanley stainless steel flasks and will not touch glass or Thermos again

Looks like the quality been dropping hard for real.. we've never have any issue with it (generic thermos even) and my fam had the vintage glass flask for over 15 years now. They replaced it in 2012 cause the outer shell being finally corroded... p.s Oh, to new owner of glass thermos of any brand, do not shake the flask while the cap being sealed on it! I just do that to an ice water and it exploded on me!! I just recently bought it for a day😅 thought i can shake it like aluminium bottle turns out NOT! fastest record of my $18 burned out 🥲

I once swallowed broken glass accidentally . I had put some home-made condiment in a cut glass whiskey glass on the side of the spoon had broken the side of the glass but I didn't spot it because of the ornate Cutglass pattern. anyway the doctor said that the body is very good at getting rid of sharp stuff you swallow , fibre is a great idea but you can overdo it and get constipated

I've had 4 glass based flasks in the last month from Asda. Every single one failed during the the making of drinks. Im not sure if its a defect but I have gone through 1 a week. Moved onto a stainless one... never going to use a glass one again. PS Don't buy the 1L/1.8L Asda living flask as after further inspection, the thin glass internals has no support except where its attached at the neck. Meaning if your flask is on its side or upright with the weight of a full bottle, the heat and the weight of the water will make the glass fail.

I took great care with mine and never dropped it once. I drunk the inside lining of the flask before I noticed it. Never again will I purchase anything from Thermos. Customer support is terrible. I made contact with them and they were not efficient in dealing with my complaint. It has nothing to do with being a glass thermos flask for me it's the company "THERMOS" That I will never purchase a product from again and will discourage anyone from purchasing. As a customer one may have a nightmare experience with a product. If dealt with properly by the company, reassuring the customer all may be ok but Thermos are dreadful.

Same cup, lid, etc. The only difference I see is my handle is connected at the bottom. It still works exceptionally well. Thermos must've changed their manufacturing process. Hi, I came across your video while googling something similar which happened while drinking cold water from a flask in a hotel in Bangkok. I only saw the shiny particles when it reflected with lights on. During the night I was tired after a long flight and I drank it without noticing it. I complained to hotel but they just brought another one and took the one which had the issue. I felt sick badly after a year but sure if it was because of this. Did you manage to find out what it was and monitor your health.

This flask is dangerous. The high possibility of drinking bits from inside of the flask makes this flask a no go, dangerous flask. It 's just the thought of drinking silver particles from inside the flask. I may still have undigested bits inside of me.

Ok to start i couldn't watch because of obnoxious noise some call music . Secondly glass is one of the very best insulators and sorry but always will be . Yes the down side is they can break . Knowing what your doing is best with these . Um yeah good.... video ..

    • @life107familyfitnessboxing8
      @life107familyfitnessboxing8  Рік тому

      Ok, to start with,
      1. music is subjective, so what you think of the music that I like or listen to is not my problem. I listen to a very wide variety of music from Jazz, soul, Rock, classical, ambient, house, garage, techno, (a little of) Theme music from movies, and more which shows that I have greater dearth of taste than you have. My scope is not narrow but wide. This is great because I am able to enjoy more than you.
      2. Secondly, I have not posted this video to show that glass is one of the very best insulators. This video is here to warn people of the dangers of this type of glass vacuum flask.
      3. There is no need for you to be sorry. I am already aware that glass is a great insulator and this video is (as mentioned) not about that.
      4. When I owned and used one of these, I knew what I was doing with it and was fully aware how to use it. It failed with dangerous consequences. I use a Stanley Stainless steel flask and it has been 100% reliable.
      5. Thank you for the video complement.

Hi to all! I hope someone can clarify my concern about vacuum flasks with glass material inside. Currently, we have three vacuum flasks of this type for storing hot water. I believe they're made from China. My concern is that every time I pour hot water from the flasks, I can see very tiny crystals or particles that look like glitters but really really small, almost microscopic you can't even feel it when you drink the water. I was thinking it could be the glass breaking down or the silver lining/coating that's probably corroded because of hot temperature. I'm not sure. We've been using this type of flask for decades. I'm just worried about the health of my family. I hope someone knowledgeable would respond.

    • @life107familyfitnessboxing8

Don't use it, they are not safe. Glass vacuum flasks are very dangerous (In my opinion very dangerous after my experience using them) I swallowed particles without knowing. I'm sure Thermos the manufacturers of this flask don't want to hear things like this but I am very disappointed in the way they handled my complaint. My flask's internal lining invaded my liquid inside the flask then invaded my body. I had to eat porridge oats with lots of wheat bran to remove the particles from my body. I personally will never use one again. Stick to a stainless steel vacuum flask. I'm sure that Thermos takes care the way they handle their flasks in their warehouses before delivery to the retailers but I'm not sure about Sainsburys where I purchase the flask from. They may have dropped the flask. This happened to two of the Glass thermos flasks I purchased. I am a customer and user of this flask and would stay well away from them. I have a Stanley Vacuum stainless steel flask and it's it perfect with no defects after 1 year plus of use.
