A quick video showing us defeating Charybdis with only a few tamers.
This was done on the Baja Shard, during Publish 106. Baja is not our main shard and we have a limited selection of pets available. We want to show that you don't need the perfect pet or build in order to do content, just a little planning and coordination.
A lot of people are under the misconception that Charybdis requires a large group and multiple boats to defeat. This should hopefully give you some ideas and insight into how it can be done with a small group.
A couple of questions from two landlubbers:
Those strings of yellow 100 in the middle of the boat, (like at 0:45 and at 1:25) what are those? Who is damaging who? Or what, is it Charybdis damaging the boat?
Where are the health bars of the players and pets? Many videos don't show the bars so it remains a bit unclear how badly one gets hit?
Are those Fire Steed, Fire Beetle and regular beetle? (We are used to 2D looks, hence the question.)
And lastly, well done Cah! Looked like a breeze!
The string of 100 damage you see are the tentacles damaging the boat when they spawn. You can also see this if Charybdis pushes you back with waves and your ship hits something, preventing movement -- your ship will start taking damage instead.
I had the healthbars outside of the recording window just to keep things less cluttered in the video. As long as you don't stand near the edge of the boat, you won't get hit too hard. Mainly magery spells and poisoning to deal with. The pets tanking will take some damage, but having Consume Damage from Primer 3 will sustain them typically.
The pets in the video are Fire Beetle, Fire Steed, Giant Beetle, and Nightmares.

@@UOCah Thanks for the clear answers and the tips! Will have to give this a try sometime when our accounts have the High Seas booster. Your video and the one of the solo archer (Azuki) make it look fairly easy, while other videos are full of corpses.

@@UOCah You still do them there? I have some shield choices coming up and not sure where to add. I have two for my home shard and one for ATL currently so I'd like to chose two new shards.
