  • During the Dublin run of the stage version of "Chimes at Midnight" in February and March 1960, Orson Welles also staged a show entitled "An Evening with Orson Welles" at the Gaiety Theatre.

      He wasn't good friends with him. He just used Churchill to get money for his films--did the same with a lot of similar blowhards. Welles conned "big men" for his own gain, and his politics were very far from Churchill's.
