Howarth village 4k

Today, I visited Haworth in West Yorkshire, England. I toured the Brontë Parsonage Museum and the church, and enjoyed the views of the village.
Haworth was first mentioned as a settlement in 1209. The name may derive from "hedged enclosure" or "hawthorn enclosure," and was recorded as "Howorth" on a map from 1771.
In 1850, the local parish priest, Patrick Brontë, concerned by the high early mortality rate that claimed the lives of all but one of his six children, including the writers Emily and Anne Brontë, by the age of 31, invited Benjamin Herschel Babbage to investigate. Babbage's inspection revealed deeply unsanitary conditions: no sewers, excrement flowing down the streets, waste from slaughterhouses and pigsties accumulating for months, overcrowded and poorly-ventilated housing, and a congested, poorly-oxygenated graveyard contaminating the village's water supply. These factors led to an average life expectancy of just 25.8 years, with 41.6% of residents dying before the age of six. Babbage's report to the General Board of Health led to significant improvements in the village's conditions.

What a lovely part of West Yorkshire. Nice to see around the cobbled streets and those views across the valleys, they are pretty special. The parsonage museum looks of great interest, lots to explore there. Amazing to see the collection of service books and books by the Bronte family. Quite the collection. Wow, the church was special, all that stained glass that was something. Thank you for touring us around Howarth, a place to visit for sure!

I think it's the 2nd time, I have visited Howarth, it's just a beautiful village, we are thinking of going back at Christmas, that should be extra special :)

@@GUNNEDDOWNJJ thanks, I used a pixel 8 pro, and they auto upload to Google photos and that adds enhancements like HDR and stabilization

@@deanshortland7194 that house, is full of expensive items, the grandfather clock in there must be worth a few thousands, I love stains glass, full of colour!
