Just as someone else said, the biggest thing you did wrong was wait so long in between videos. Hit us with a little vlog action or some small updates. You were Alec Steele's channel for a while. Like, all we saw was you. You brought in views and made good content. You are still the same person that we like and support.
@@ryanconran824 not totally. It's an 11 minute video. The content in this video probably could have made 4 separate videos. I feel many youtubers fail to see how interested their viewers would be in what they consider not interesting. I'm a viewer of Demolition Ranch and the dude there made another channel called Off The Ranch where he does things unrelated to his main channel. Will is setting up a shop. Tons of people would be interested in his process of setting everything up, why it's taking so long, how and why he puts equipment in specific areas, inspecting equipment before he purchases it and what he is looking for during the inspections, etc. While he isn't forging anything currently people would be interested in that stuff.
@@cwinter90 Off The Ranch is pretty cool, I like it even better than Demo Ranch (I love guns and general weaponry, but watching someone shoot just isn't really fun for me, so I hardly ever watch it). So I support your comment. If able, Will should definitely post more vids, even if it's just about the things you mentioned, I know I'd be interested.
@Chris W I love Matt carriker lol I've been watching him since day 1 of his UA-cam arrival. And yes and no, you're absolutely right he could probably be making more videos right now, and he probably could have made multiple videos with the amount of content that he got (yes) But those videos wouldn't have been as entertaining or as purposeful (in his eyes) or anywhere near as long as this one was. Also you don't know what sort of stress he's under right now and how hard he's working to get this new shop up and running and you have to take into consideration it takes a lot of time and energy to make a video, I would suspect he's also pretty squished on budget right now so I'm sure that's not helping him. But I definitely agree with you I hope he can start to have a more stable and quick upload time pretty soon, and I also do hope that he will start showing us more of just his everyday life, but I don't know if that's really what he has in mind for this channel. Either way I'm just glad he's not on some sort of giant hiatus until he gets the shop built that would suck!😂
One weird thing about this is how nice it feels. Alec's channel has become a bit chaotic and over the top, which I like but I never expected to enjoy this this much more. Perhaps because it's more relatable. I don't have a shop or anything but I want to one day, and seeing you set up your own just gives me this very cozy feeling. Thank you, looking forward to more!
Watching you roll that lath in reminded me of when I use to help my father and grandfather store boats away for the winter. We had 3" pipe filled with concrete for rolling into the boat house, and 1" pipe that we would put under the 3" pipe to move sideways. Great video Will, thumbs up.
I think Isiah still occasionally takes photos in Alecs shop every now and then for the Instagram account and AlecSteelCo, even though he seems to have been poached by Will now
If you start each video off like that, and we get to watch Marty age with each new video until he's fully grown, that would be lovely. We all love you, who you are and how you do things. Just keep on doing things.
Reminds me of the lathe I learned turning on, except it had been made for the US Navy during WW2 and used an actual Jeep transmission as a gearbox... it was a Beast.
This almost feels like when Alec moved from Barker Street to the new/old/new UK workshop. I miss his Barker Street days, but I have a feeling this channel is going to feel a lot like that. I'm excited for more regular uploads.
Just keep plugging away at things and people will come along for the ride. I don’t know if you’re getting help on the editing of videos or not, but you’re already developing a vibe of sorts. The music is excellent and matches your more rustic location. Excellent, Will!
Driving up the snowy mountain passes of "North America". So specifically vague. I have never heard it said that way before and it gave me a good chuckle.
Will, our Man, it's really nice to see you back in the saddle. And damn the music is spot on! Really nice editing! This is how I like my smithing channels. Good music, good work and goodWill. Pun oh-so-intended.
You know I’m not going to lie at first when I heard will was leaving the old Alex workshop. I was wondering how all this was going to work. But then after seeing this video it reminded me and showed me why I love will to begin he is such a hard working and determined person that can’t i anything he sets his mind to.And with that the worry was gone. Good luck will I love to see what’s in store in the future. I will support you with all of your decisions!
It's best not to focus on the negative aspects of the videos and more about the positive ones, Will. Like the fact that you put up a new video, pilfered the old shop, have some fun new equipment and a solid foundation for the power hammer. I think that alone will make things better for you, the future and the channel.
Will... I think I speak for everyone when I say... we needed to know how many wheelbarrows it took to fill that hole! I was waiting for you to be, like, “and that was 137 barrows full,” but you just went on to other clips haha... remember, we enjoy simple details like that, and it gives a “wow” moment. We love you, your content will improve with time 👌🏼

Have to say, I’m massively relived you decided to start a channel to go with your new shop. It’s been awesome watching you work for the past couple years, I look forward to what projects come next!
I have to say I REALLY like where this channel seems to be headed. Not a criticism on either of you but this video felt like something that I've been missing from Alec's channel without knowing; just some chill vibes and letting the task at hand tell the story. I'm super excited to see where things go from here!
Great to see you back in the shop! It was awesome to meet you in TX. Keep us posted on your future knife show visits...I would love to see your work in person.
Glad to see you making content Will! Curiosity has me wondering is Alec closing his Montana shop down? Wish you the best keep the videos coming!!! Even Vlogs from you will keep us wanting more from you!!!!
If ya need more lights, you can reuse those fluorescent fixtures and get LED bulbs that are built to retro fit old fluorescent fixtures. Just gotta bypass the driver. Just a couple of wires cut, stripped and twisted together.
You can do combo items as in you start the creation and then pass it on to will to finish meanwhile will starts one and sends it to you to finish. Where the transition can be is adjustable to whatever you both think is a cool spot.
I’m not worried about how long you took between updates. There’s a bunch of people commenting “the biggest thing you did wrong” who don’t run a shop or a UA-cam channel. Nobody is guna forget you after you spent two years keeping the redhead Brit tied down to reality, you got flexibility, I think

Love the American Pacemaker. We had one at the plant I used to work at, and only one person knew how to run half of the machine.
