Barry has this strange thing about him as an actor; he's extremely memorable that his characters are the ones I most remember in his movies. The moment he said "I'll be useful, sir" In Dunkirk alone was unforgettable. I remember him most in Killing of the Sacred Deer. Druig was phenomenally represented, the way he delivered his speech during the argument scene got into my heart and made me feel like I was really there with them. Barry's Joker seriously terrified me and made me feel uneasy on my seat.. But then after ALL these roles, somehow I didn't realize they were all played by the same guy. It was until I rewatched Eternal and paid attention more closely, I saw details and most subtlest movements and vocal plays by Barry and got really impressed. He made Druig seem so real. So I looked him up and this was when I realized that oh right he was in this movie, oh yea he was in that movie too, wait what he was also in Chernobyl? or some sort.. So then I watched The Banshees of Inisherin because of him and I was blown away by his performance. It was beautiful yet so heartbreaking.
Very nice introduction to Barry Keoghan, actor. Please add “Light Thereafter” to your “must see” BK repertoire list. In this artsy international indie, a younger leading Barry, is a complicated, radiating and touching gem of a human being. (I found it in full on UA-cam.) Thank you! ➡️ He deserved an Oscar nomination for Saltburn!
I first saw him in '71, and he was so memorable that when the first images and clips of Killing of a Sacred Deer and Dunkirk came out, I remembered exactly where I'd seen him. He made such an impression, in his appearance and manner, that he is unforgettable. Just perfect for whatever weird little dude you need. Though the thief in The Green Knight is definitely notable favorite.
He’s a fantastic actor and it’s really been cool to see him rise over the years, my first exposure to him was in Dunkirk and I’ve been watching other films he’s in over the years. He definitely deserved his Academy Award nomination for Banshees of Inisherin. Thank you for the video Brandon, keep up the great work and take care!
Thank you for this overview! I saw Saltburn a few weeks ago and the next day i finally watched The Killing of a Sacred Deer because Poor things was new. Saw him in Top Boy and something else but never made it to go over his career or know what to pick out.
This dude is definitely going places! He really has that IT quality, so much depth and range. Saltburn was just a masterful performance! He just went there with no fear!
A little clarification. The cat scene in Love/Hate didn't cause an ounce of controversy in the UK because it's an Irish show. I'm sure it has been syndicated by now, but at the time, it was broadcast in Ireland by RTE. It did, however, cause a stir in Ireland. It turns out the shot was in camera trickery. The cat had a fishwire tied to its colar and the crew gave the wire a tug to give the cat a jolt. Love/Hate was a great show, a bit of a landmark in Irish TV.
@@TheBackFocusNot that that settled the animal rights groups. They still complained that the cat had to be given a proper tug on the wire to make it jolt that dramatically, which is a fair point. There's another scene where another character, who is sleeping rough under a bridge, throttles a swan to death!
Can you make a video of Harris dickinson performances from all of the years because he has such amazing actors put in all his character work he deserves some notice

Dude's range is insane.
Agreed.
Been always noticing how good this guy was in every film/series I watched.
I swear he'll get an oscar one day.

Fantastic spotlight on Barry.

Interesting... thanks for the clarification on that.

Reiterating everything everyone said in this thread, and adding how pure/angelic he looked with the long, black curly hair 🥹
Your content is just amazing! Thank you!
Love this guy. I can't wait to see what he does in the future.
Am excited you're back, great content asusual
this video is great. I'm a huge Barry fan. Thank you for making this video.
man I still need to see The Banshees of Inisherin
Brandon!
Your insight is awesome. Keep it coming dude (at your own rate), you're doing great work.

Thanks!
Does he have a strange career in acting or a career in strange acting?
I agree with you on Barry, but Lewis Pullman is my go to for up and coming interesting actors.

It was very hard to get used to him being normal in Masters of the Air
It proved his range. That, American Animals, Stay, and Mammal. The several short films he's done are also just regular guys. I wish I was his agent.
Legit IS the yellow guy from sin city...
Lost some quid betting he was the young junkie bam in Still Game
