  • What's up guys recently I have looked into the analytics of the channel, and noticed that the channel is shrinking. We have to get some likes on these videos. Subscriptions are good too, but the likes tell UA-cam that this content has value. So I would love to get at least 100 likes per video. Most of the videos get a lot of views, but only a few likes. If you guys could help me out that would be great. I definitely have more content, but need to see some free action on your part to keep the channel alive and show UA-cam and me that you like this content. Thanks so much for you that already hit the like button, and keep up the good work.
This Video will cover some of the symbology in QGIS. (Update 4/18/20)
What's up guys the data that I have in the videos can be found at the links below:
    1. Formally known as the STCO or State county shape file can be found at

    2. I find other data at:

Hello Hal! Each time I add a new edit, my building layer dissapears. What could the reason for that be? I am trying to add a .sld file on it. I tried also to follow this tutorial, but each time the buildings would dissapear. I tried to go into the attributes table and the objects are still there, they just wont show!

Ok so I believe, have faced this problem before as well the It don't believe it is a CRS issue. If i'm not mistaken the format used for SLD files have changed and make them function incorrectly when QGIS tries to manipulate them. I had this conversation with another viewer I need to find that chat. I don't think there are any solutions for that problem out yet.

I found it here was my reply:
Hello again so I looked through forums, and there has been constant issues with QGIS and SLD. The problem you are facing is a reoccurring bug. They patched it in 2013, 2015, 2018, but don't see any more recent patches only more bugs found with SLD. I don't know when or if they are working fix the problems with SLD, but I has been an issue for the couple of years, and like you said the formatting that takes place during creation of SLD really distort the binary images created in QGIS. Right I am reading this site for more answers.

I stoped using graduated because I couldn't tell how you get them to go up by 5% or 2% or 10% intervals. I tried doing a red-blue election map with it. So I started using categorized and applying a shade to a code I put in my data (i.e. 1, 2, 3...-1, -2, -3). Do you know how to make it (graduated) work for elections maps like I'm talking about?

Yes you did right by switching to categorized. It looks like you wanted more control over the individual intervals, and less of the statistics of upper and lower bounds and the deviations of your data.
