Organic Chemistry on Khan Academy: Carbon can form covalent bonds with itself and other elements to create a mind-boggling array of structures. In organic chemistry, we will learn about the reactions chemists use to synthesize crazy carbon based structures, as well as the analytical methods to characterize them. We will also think about how those reactions are occurring on a molecular level with reaction mechanisms. Simply put, organic chemistry is like building with molecular Legos. Let's make some beautiful organic molecules!
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

When I try studying chemistry, I just want to 2:47
but khan academy actually helps!! Thanx for these video and all this effort.
Lol

Mr khan, I can't tell you how many times you have saved my life. Thank you!
I could listen to his voice day and night :P
Good job! Helped me to get A+ this time!
Colleges are closed with 4 weeks of school left 😭😭😭 So here I am🙏🙏🙏 **COVID-19 Pandemic March 2020**
Love your voice and use of colours! Great explanations, too. Please keep 'em coming!
Thanks for the videos. You have helped me get through Organic Chemistry and you are helping me get into nursing school. Thank you so very much!!!
@khanacademy
You say at 4:19 that you order the alkylchains in order of their length; after the IUPAC nomenclature is the correct order the alphabetical one (butyl [4], decyl [10], ethyl [2], heptyl [7], hexyl [6], methyl [1], nonyl [9], octyl [8], pentyl [5], propyl [3] ... once I started :D).
So your example is alright but in general the IUPAC way is correct.
More videos khan. Hopefully you'll continue to teach here in youtube. Hehe. I'm a fan of yours!
For propanone you don't need to number it as the position of the carbonyl is implicit!!
Hey Sal...thank you!
Thank you so much 💟
why you didn't name the last twe in their Iupac name
Sir can u plz do videos on electron displacement effects it would really help like inductive effect ,mesomeric effect ,hyperconjugation and electromeric effect
it is on another video
I am in love with his voice
Thank you!
thank you so much this is aweseome!!!
What program is that for tutorials
Mr. Khan how to use "oxo" in naming ketones?
What would be name of butanone?

Diabetes mellitus with carbohydrate restriction
It is told why it can be improved
I am not
Carbohydrate restriction, ketone →
Acetone (amphiphilic) is
Dissolved in blood moisture and whole body waste
It cleans lipids
Longer carbohydrate restriction
The higher the ketone acetone concentration
Will rise and detergency will rise
Carbohydrate restriction Initial acetone wash
Organs are heart, kidney, brain
Is acetone does not reach the brain
Is that so? I think that it is Aceto
Acetic acid enters brain cells and AGEs
In response to carbon dioxide, aceto
It changes to the brain to wash the brain
Imagine the meal of a night shift
Eat carbohydrate in the morning, day and night, in the middle of the night
Upon ingesting carbohydrates ketones
Benefit from acetone washing
I can not do things.
Night workers have 2 to 3 times cancer risk
Double the risk of night stroke gastrointestinal illness
Diabetes in night workers tends to increase year by year
Double the risk of being a night shift breast cancer
40% increase in vascular diseases such as myocardial infarction and cerebral infarction at night shift
One in three night shift nurses experienced an imminent abortion
Well, the word acetone is not originated from any german word. It's based upon Acetic Acid - which in turn has been derived from "acetum", the Latin word for Vinegar.
what is acetophenone??
Varun Upadhyay derivatve aromatic ketone
@qrais
How so? Can you explain what and where he's wrong other than the reason FUNKtshnl pointed out?
ketone
reply
@qrais Jealous much?
