Great video Keg, as an aspiring Brewmaster your whole channel is gold, its pushed me through NH and its getting me through ToS. I can't say thank you enough. Keep it up, your great at what you do.
Great video man. Very thorough and well explained. I think this is the best video about a class that I've seen that didn't involve yelling or obnoxious loud music. Keep up the good work
Hey man im 100% brand new to this toon, not new to tanking. I do not usually watch vids that are this FREAKING long but i am glad to say it was very worth it. I want to play this class b/c not alot of people do and the difficulty of the class in general! I think you've given me a firm basis on what to do and with my play style im sure i can make this toon a beast on my guilds raids! Thank you for the time it took to make this vid!
This video has helped me with talents and being able to survive m+s more and actually tank better for our raid night! Thank you so much and this is making me practice my rotation compared to other classes I've played
Hey thanks for this video , I'm an experienced monk but the new changes to brew master as it being my offspec had me confused and this video was very very helpful , appreciate it
Just hit 110 on my brm. New to legion, been on Kronos and warmane for all of legion. Never once thought I would play brm, always seemed to hectic and annoying when reading about brew management, but I gave it a shot because every spec I tried felt like it wasn't for me, and goddamn I've been hooked. I'm gonna be visiting this channel a lot in the next few weeks!
I actually main Mistweaver but this was very informative and interesting to listen too! I love learning more about my class even if it's a spec I don't play!
Honestly, bmonk is the most interesting and complicated tank in the game. You will never get bored with it. But good tanking requires some dedication and skill. Which you won't get immedeately. In comparison to bdk and bear bmonk is much more complex. But that's what makes it such a unique tank! :)
As a long time Brewmaster i thought I had my main spec down but I must say after watching your videos it's nice to learn something new or gain new perspective from a fellow Brewmaster. Thanks for your dedication to the spec and for sharing your videos with us.
Starting leveling my brewmaster, today. This video was a great investment as it not only explained the things.. but it explained hot to use them and why to use them. Thank you
Excellent video. I really appreciated the time and detail invested in making your guide. It was immensely helpful for me in understanding how to play this class. Thank you very much. (I wanted the entire video!)
Thank you for taking the time to create such a high quality Guide! Helped me a lot and I love the fact that you put in time stamps :) Keep it up and greetings from germany!
Hey keg, I recently came back to the game and I am going through gearing all tank classes so I can get back into hardcore raiding again. (Been 2 years since I last raided hardcore) And I wanna say that your guides are really well made and they do explain your thoughtprocess, aswell as the gimmicks you use to play your monk, and I very much appreciate that you're a tank focusing on tanking, and not a fortified DPS. 10/10 guides and I will for sure link your videos if anyone is asking me about monk stuff ^^
thank you, I currently main a prot pally but I am not having much fun getting my ass handed to me in ToS. I started to level a monk as they seemed like fun and this gives me a great path to follow to perhaps make the switch over from pally to monk for tanking.
Played every class except the monk. With my "free" 110 boost I decided to boost and see what this brewmaster is all about. I main play a rdruid and LOVE it when I get to heal a brewmaster in m+ runs....and DKs of course! You sir are a wizard! Intently watched your video and thank you so much for taking the time to make it! Very informative. Watched some others, but not nearly as good as yours. I've tanked, and do very well at them, Druid/DK/Pally/Warrior, and I love how brewmaster actually takes a sort of skill to play...the stagger concept. The only other tank that I believe requires some sort of thought while tanking is the warrior. Warrior and brewmaster are not nearly as mind numbing as the other classes and i love that! Thanks again for the great video! Any chance you can link some good WAs to use in the description?? Thanks again!
Excellent thanks! This is the only video I've watched so far, still watching lol. My monk is alliance void elf Zomboy @ Stormrage, main is alliance druid Brosience @ Stormrage. I can't wait to get my monk into some high keys! Gotta get them leggos first and gears.
Thank you for your guide. it is pretty informative and seems like best legion BrM guide. I do not agree / understand everything. Like "We need to have Deck for armor but you should forget about sick hide enchant in order to get 2% of dps. Hmmm." Sick hide works perfectly even on my blood dk. It seems it is even better on monk due to low base armor. But nevermind. My question is - there is problem with 2 TP rotation - we delay our each 2nd BoS. What about getting enough haste for rotation BoS-TP-KS-BoS-TP-BroF-repeat. It seems not very difficult to get enough haste with current 970 ilvls. Did anyone checked it?
I play monk with Stormstouts Last Gasp, it is the legendary that by far, imo, smoothens out the rotation the most, as u no longer have to spam keg smash instantly in fear of losing uptime, u can actually delay it and use a blackout strike/breath of fire beforehand if u see fit. Because you actually have a new recharge timer starting when the first ones ready to use. The dmg in mythic dungeons with this is almost up there with the dps on aoe packs. most the time i am equal to or even beating the dps with 5-15 ilvls above me in aoe situations. I love this and i wouldnt use any other legendary unless i absolutely have to.
Pretty nice guide. I've had extremely bad luck with legendaries on my Brewmaster, getting both belts, sephuz and the boots. Only comfort I find in that is I've gotten all the shit legendaries I can, so at least the next one has to be useful
Thank you so much for putting this together. I've never tanked before (#healers4lyfe) but wanted to try it. I floundered playing it at first, but I'm already doing so much better because of you. Keep being awesome!
Can someone tell me what is appropriate proffesion for monks? Or something you could recommend? Also big thanks for your video helped me a freakin ton. Liked and subscribed!
just an fyi, im pretty sure you don't need an inscriptionist to craft the darkmoon immortality trinket. I bought all the cards and crafted it myself without inscription, no problems, last week.
I apologize in advance I'm pretty sure this question is pretty common : When do I exactly use iron skin brew and purifying brew? Iron skin brew before I pull? And when the stagger gets high do I use purifying brew? Any advice and details would be kindly appreciated.
I got the shoulder and chest legendaries. so I get 2 chargers of 25% stronger keg smashes. And my fire breath resets after every keg smash... So... RJW-ISB-KS-FB-BS-TP-REPETE. Sometimes I just use all 3 ISB right away since in about 6 seconds I have 2 back.
Why not use Keg smash with Blackout combo? Wouldn't it be good for the Ironskin brew uptime? I thought 100% uptime or as close to that as possible was a must, now I'm confused. If this isn't the case, then I suppose going for High tolerance would be a better option for that smooth damage intake and also haste. Looked through the comments and didn't see anyone ask this so sorry if it's already been answered but I'd appreciate any thought on this.
amazing video, helps alot, wanted to ask how does dave helps with skittish , i thought the leg sweep would be better choice, and im always afriad to take dave in case it pulls more mobs, how can i deal with that
Hello Keg. Love the video. Very informative. I'd just like to ask about trinket choice for DPS. Currently equipped with AHR and a socketed 945 Vial of Ceaseless Toxins. But currently farming for a good Memento of Angerboda. Aside from stat sticks, what other notable trinkets should I be looking for? I have a 910 Writhing Heart of Darkness, but Vial simmed better.
How important are the right legendarys for tanking? I currently gear my monk and got the talent ring legendary. Since I'd like to play windwalker as well, I thought about setting my loot to ww. I have a feeling that dps specs are relieing a lot more on good legendarys than healer or tanks. I want to raid heroic and possibly mythic as the next raid hits with both speccs.
Tried the turtle build (with gift of the mists) on a few bosses, the only one that it felt helpful on was mythic sisters. On that fight I rarely felt the need to panic purify but I was taking pretty constant damage all fight long. Ran it with bracers for more brews and stagger ring just to make the lack of purifies feel less scary. Not sure it was necessary, but it's fun to tinker I guess.
I successfully conveyed how huge the 4 set was for brewmaster before tomb launched, so luckily I was able to get an exemption from the usual "gear the dps first" treatment and got the 4 set in the first week.
+Brett Lewis Nice man. I know a lot of guilds won't listen to their tanks when they talk about stats and stuff so it's nice to hear your guild listened.
It's not the biggest difference in the world. But RJW is a clear winner for dps. Especially in AoE. Previous patches, SD did more dps and more burst but now it's RJW all the way.
What a great video Keg! :D But i have one question ^^ where can i get that incredible Health Bar ??? It's really beatiful with the character showing up on it :3
+KnightLiker that's a semi-decent bonus of face palm. But the absolute main thing is he bonus damage it provides. Almost nobody uses it for the brew cdr. Potent Kick is a better trait to manage brew more effectively
I have a question about talent choice. Ive got both the chest and the shoulders for legendaries, so not only does my fire breath reset, I also get two stacks of keg smash. This means that when I do the rotation I feel like I cant fit in the rushing jade wind very often, so Im thinking that maybe going with special delivery would be better for the fights that are not to AoE intense. What do you think of this?
I dont like T20 set bonus, it forces me to change me stat priority to crit to fully utilize the selfhealing aspect of it, which I dont trust, simply cause I got no control over it, chance to get an orb which has a chance to do some extra healing beyond it's regular value of 490k, stagger is a much more reliable and controllable class mechanic in my humble opinion
Great video but i have a question about stagger. At what point should I be using purifying brew? right at medium stagger or will the heals be good and I should wait till red heavy stagger?
Depents on the fight. Stagger is easy to Manage if you check your staggerbar Just check whats "normal" at that fight and Pruify when it gets higher as normal. On Fights like Harjatan Mythic you get very high stagger, 75% or more can be normal.
Hey Keg! As a returning player who hasn't tanked before, I really appreciate the guide. I do habe a question regarding the Ox Statue however. Just, how do I use it without also pulling the boss off the other tank? On fights like Harjatan for instance; I want to pick up the murlocs without pulling the boss himself off the other tank. How should I approach this? Thanks again!
+TooMuchStarbucks The statue will never pull aggro off your co-tank. The statue is used to ring in adds and easily aoe taunt them off your dps and healers. Of course don't aoe taunt if the boss is close to the boss but you could just tell you co-tank to taunt back
Ahh alright. I was wondering primarily because, during a Harjatan kill, I noticed I would randomly take aggro off the other tank when I shouldn't have, and I thought it might have to do with the statue (even when I wasn't even targeting the boss itself). Thanks for the answer!
Thanks for the great and informative video. I think u may have mentioned this but just yo confirm, are we always supposed to be iron skin brewing every 6 seconds or however long it lasts?
Its not set in stone as to when you need to activate, but you never want it to run out. If you want piece of mind you can drop 2 charges early and you've got 12 secs upfront.
i actually enjoy the brewmaster play style back in hellfire citadel more. You get 2 guards with 30sec recharge time, with each guard absorbs about 75%-80% of your total health + purifying brew(with Resolve), you pretty much self heal like a DK and take 0 dmg. Each time you use expel harm, it reduces guard recharge time by 5sec, you keep 100% uptime on guard, when your below 30% health, expel harm has no CD, also heals about 25%-50% of ur total health(with Resolve). Not to mention nimble brew makes you trinket all CCs and dizzying haze give mobs a 50% slow. I was tanking mythic hellfire citadel, was so much fun. ppl might say wod brewmaster was overpowered, which i agree, that why you push your limit as a tank maybe put on one or two dps trinket, pull more mobs, topping the healing meter and dps meter.
hm tell me pls in 7.3.5 im doing .Iron skin brew 》Blackout strike》keg smash》Jade Wind 》 BS 》 Tiger Paw 》 Breath of fire nad again, but now im trying to do BS before the Breath of fire too.. So is its good in 7.3.5? i know its time for BfA but its interesting)
Keggernaut I thought that may be the case. I watched it over a few times to make sure it was not me. As a suggestion, cut the audio when you do it next time and throw a little "Instant Replay" or "Slow Motion Replay" in the upper right third. Fantastic guide. Great editing. Thanks for putting in the time.
+Brent McBrian Yeah in hindsight I could've added some text. But the audio is the weird part, there was literally no audio track for those couple seconds. In premiere the playback was silent but after rendering there was the sound you hear now. Not sure what happened
Great video Keg, as an aspiring Brewmaster your whole channel is gold, its pushed me through NH and its getting me through ToS. I can't say thank you enough. Keep it up, your great at what you do.
Fredrick Girard i feel your love for him :D
Recently came back to wow and decided to roll a brewmaster for the first time after playing a hunter for a decade. Fantastic guide!! Keep it up
Great video man. Very thorough and well explained. I think this is the best video about a class that I've seen that didn't involve yelling or obnoxious loud music. Keep up the good work

Thank you for the very thorough and well done guide Keg. As a newer BM I really learned a lot of tips and enjoyed it.
Just boosted and am leveling a brewmaster now to try it out aside my H TOS warrior tank. I really appreciate this video you made
nice guide. i like the in-depth explaining of abilities!
As a long time Brewmaster i thought I had my main spec down but I must say after watching your videos it's nice to learn something new or gain new perspective from a fellow Brewmaster. Thanks for your dedication to the spec and for sharing your videos with us.
I'm the same way, I got into brewmaster because of kegg's videos and I still watch them because it's nice to refresh on concepts/learn new stuff.
Starting leveling my brewmaster, today. This video was a great investment as it not only explained the things.. but it explained hot to use them and why to use them. Thank you
Daniel Davis haha same
Dude...this video is insanely awesome. You've absolutely gained a subscriber!!
This video is a gift to the world. You have very clean editing skills :) congrats
Excellent video. I really appreciated the time and detail invested in making your guide. It was immensely helpful for me in understanding how to play this class. Thank you very much. (I wanted the entire video!)
Wow what a great source of information, the video has encouraaged me to play my monk tank more.
+John Chadwick Awesome :)
Just decided to level and main a brew master tank, thanks for the video!
Thank you for taking the time to create such a high quality Guide! Helped me a lot and I love the fact that you put in time stamps :)

Been playing monk since MoP but ive only played MW im starting to try out BM and this video is a huge help. Thanks a bunch
Expected a 10 min guide, Extremley happy I was wrong! Fantastic guide and as a brand new BrM Monk it Covers everything you could need!
+1 Sub
Fantastic video!! Thank you so much. Love your UI setup too :)
Cool Video man it's perfect first time I get a guide that tells me everything about the class
amazing video kegg... keep up the good work for aspiring brewers 👏
thank you, I currently main a prot pally but I am not having much fun getting my ass handed to me in ToS. I started to level a monk as they seemed like fun and this gives me a great path to follow to perhaps make the switch over from pally to monk for tanking.
Amazing video! Really helpful and informative! Trying to get back into BM tanking and these videos are definitely helping
Boo! I miss the panda! Seriously, though. You rock. Thanks for the effort to help us out.
Thx for helping me learn more about how to tank with this class :)
Hell...what a guide,.. amazing job
Best Monk spec for soling in general.
wish all guides were like this
Best guide on youtube. Thanks and keep up the great work. ( subbed )
You made me a brewmaster, dude. Rock on!
Good stuff, as always, Keg.
thanks for this upload, i learned alot since im new to bm monk

Jonathan West I have a couple videos that are dedicated to weakauras for brewmaster. Check them out in my addons playlist
Excellent thanks! This is the only video I've watched so far, still watching lol. My monk is alliance void elf Zomboy @ Stormrage, main is alliance druid Brosience @ Stormrage. I can't wait to get my monk into some high keys! Gotta get them leggos first and gears.
The rota is dope~ thanks for that
wow ... you are a legend mate; thanks a lot for this video; subscribed and followed on twitch :)
Great video bro, it helped me alot. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for your work Keg :)

God thanks a lot for this awsome vid !!!
What a job!!!
Keep up dude

I use Zenflight to fish, so I can hover over the water, lol
+Erik Ballew I use it for fishing too :)
yo dude best brewmaster guide on youtube thx a lot know i know how to monk tank THX
best guides man keep it up!!
Liked and subscribed!
tanks a lot mate! great guide!
just an fyi, im pretty sure you don't need an inscriptionist to craft the darkmoon immortality trinket. I bought all the cards and crafted it myself without inscription, no problems, last week.
hour and a half, woah, awesome
8/10 legendaries for brewmaster. maybe one day I'll get the chest...
What is the weakaura ur using? Getting to learn Brewmaster and would help to see what cd's are running out! Great guide and helped alot!
I apologize in advance I'm pretty sure this question is pretty common :
When do I exactly use iron skin brew and purifying brew?
Iron skin brew before I pull? And when the stagger gets high do I use purifying brew?
Any advice and details would be kindly appreciated.
NIce job Keg!
great video keg! great info as always! could you do a section about the good dps trinkets in tos?
There are none. Same 50% proc rule from NH, so rip DPS trinkets
Remember when patch notes for 7.2 said that BoS was going to be a 12 second cd
Looked through the comments and didn't see anyone ask this so sorry if it's already been answered but I'd appreciate any thought on this.
amazing video, helps alot, wanted to ask how does dave helps with skittish , i thought the leg sweep would be better choice, and im always afriad to take dave in case it pulls more mobs, how can i deal with that
this is great entry level i got a lot out of it mate
Hey, awesome guide, any suggestion for WA's?
Great video, but i got one question. What about trained soldier for neck ench? 600 mastery should be good or am i missing something?
I would also love if I can catch you on Battle.net or Discord. :D
How important are the right legendarys for tanking? I currently gear my monk and got the talent ring legendary.
Since I'd like to play windwalker as well, I thought about setting my loot to ww. I have a feeling that dps specs are relieing a lot more on good legendarys than healer or tanks.
I want to raid heroic and possibly mythic as the next raid hits with both speccs.
i like more information about the turtle build
you can macro iron skin and jade wind since the gcd dosn't get reset
Tried the turtle build (with gift of the mists) on a few bosses, the only one that it felt helpful on was mythic sisters. On that fight I rarely felt the need to panic purify but I was taking pretty constant damage all fight long. Ran it with bracers for more brews and stagger ring just to make the lack of purifies feel less scary. Not sure it was necessary, but it's fun to tinker I guess.
+Brett Lewis yeah it's experimental because of the rng component. Also the 4set is the ONLY reason why GotM is even slightly viable
I successfully conveyed how huge the 4 set was for brewmaster before tomb launched, so luckily I was able to get an exemption from the usual "gear the dps first" treatment and got the 4 set in the first week.
+Brett Lewis Nice man. I know a lot of guilds won't listen to their tanks when they talk about stats and stuff so it's nice to hear your guild listened.
what do you think about the Ampoule of Pure Void trinket from Seat of the Triumvirate dungeon?
Hey Keggernaut, any chance on an updated Brewmaster guide for Antorus?
Race changed to Nelf DansGame DansGame DansGame, still love your vids tho.
Make a video on how to disenchant legendaries that make you cry lol. Great vid keg keep it up!
+Palimanj lol I watched your clip with the new leggo. At least it's one less to farm now
Keggernaut lol I won't get another one for a month
Newb brewmaster here. When do I use purifying brew? Right after I click stagger?
What about the rotation with the legendary shoulders?
Will there come a new Guardian Druid Guide too?
good video man- just wondering how big of a difference is it between special delivery and RJW, because ive always ran special delivery for aoe burst.
It's not the biggest difference in the world. But RJW is a clear winner for dps. Especially in AoE. Previous patches, SD did more dps and more burst but now it's RJW all the way.
What a great video Keg! :D
But i have one question ^^ where can i get that incredible Health Bar ??? It's really beatiful with the character showing up on it :3
+Chris c It's part of Elvui. Some tweaking needed though. I have an Elvui video which can help you pick apart each bit of elvui
Isn't face palm also a great option because of the extra 1sc reduction in the CDs of brews? I thought that was the main advantage...
What do you think of this?
whud be cool if rushing jade wind cud be impowerd by blackout kick allso :)
Whats the name of the addon which changes the UI to that slick black look? Like the talent tree etc?
Great video but i have a question about stagger. At what point should I be using purifying brew? right at medium stagger or will the heals be good and I should wait till red heavy stagger?
Depents on the fight. Stagger is easy to Manage if you check your staggerbar
Just check whats "normal" at that fight and Pruify when it gets higher as normal. On Fights like Harjatan Mythic you get very high stagger, 75% or more can be normal.
great job dud
How should I approach this?

alung2k3 omg now I understand how it works lol thank you!
If you have relics increasing the brew duration, the max duration goes up.
+Joseph Marion yeah
i actually enjoy the brewmaster play style back in hellfire citadel more. I was tanking mythic hellfire citadel, was so much fun.
ppl might say wod brewmaster was overpowered, which i agree, that why you push your limit as a tank maybe put on one or two dps trinket, pull more mobs, topping the healing meter and dps meter.
i don't have the extra aftifact traits on my bm. I don't recall what aftifact level am at.. do you have to be a certain level for it to show up?
"Statue taunt macro in the description" :( Thanks for the video!
Erich Blume idk if he changed the description, but the macro is there.

@keggernaut At 1:22:00ish there are some serious issues with audio/video. great guide so far though.
+Brent McBrian I didn't make it clear what I was doing. I slowed down the video to show how I used BoB. Energy, cds, etc
Not sure what happened
any chance you can upload your WAs?
