The hydraulic piston is connected to the elevator car with a 2:1 rope gearing. The car can then travel twice the length of the cylinder. Or in other words, the cylinder only needs to be roughly half the length of the shaft. That is very convenient for high hydraulic elevators with five floors or more. Roped hydraulic elevators have the cylinder placed conveniently in the shaft, beside the car rather than under it. One alternative would be to have the piston directly under the car. That is called in inground hydraulic. The disadvantage of inground hydraulic is the need to drill a hole in the ground under the shaft to fit the cylinder there. Inground hydraulic also leaks oil into the ground over time, which is a pollution issue.
@@HeritageElevators Thank you for that pal, I found it really interesting 😁👌. It Seems to me like the roped type are the best type of Hydraulic elevator 👍 What is the maximum number of floors a roped hydraulic could do?
@@guitarplayerforu 6 floors are optimal for hydraulic elevators to reach its max operational speed, but you can always add more. Never seen Hydraulic Elevators which are higher than floor 6.
Beautiful F-sharp pitched motor!
Really beautiful. Can listen again and again :)
@@HeritageElevators I've definitely been listening to it over and over again 😊😊 It is an amazing motor!
Epic motor!
Wow that is really fast for a hydraulic
Very nice Kone M-Series hydraulic elevator 👍
I remember this elevator from one of your older videos. Still looks exactly the same
Exactly. So good it's not modernized
Why does the motor sound like it’s from a elevator in a Sears store?
This motor reminds me of the elevator that you filmed with a Extremely Hard Stop.
i know I'm kinda off topic but does anybody know of a good site to stream newly released tv shows online ?
@Soren Langston try FlixZone. You can find it on google =)
@Soren Langston Try flixzone. Just search on google for it :)
The motor sounds the same on them
Very Nice motor
Great sounding motor 👌
Why do some Hydraulic elevators have ropes as well as a hydraulic piston?
Are they like a Hybrid between Traction and Hydro?

If this was newer, it would go really well with an Otis 2000!
Woah that is absolutely an Amazing master pice
2:01 what’s that buzzing sound?
Is this the same elevator that you filmed or is that in another staircase?
It's the same one :)
