On the back of the gear stick there is a button, if you press it every time you change up the poweshift it’s less aggressive. Awesome tractors the McCormick
You are correct about the smooth shift button but it should only be used between power shifts 3-4 as it basically slips the clutches and using it in the lower shifts can cause excessive wear.
That’s a tidy machine and a credit to Darren, he clearly looks after his equipment. Never driven one myself, I’m sure I will at some point. I’d like to see that tractor on the silage chopper, something like the JF we had years ago, maybe the TA TEN X
At our farm we have the MTX 135, doesn't have that loud turbo as such but it's with the Iveco engine. the button behind the powershift gears is the clutch button for the powershift, only works on 4th gear ( d )

my massey ferguson 3070 has done just over 13,000 hours and being traded in for a 6,000 series, im a fitter by trade, the rule is if you look after them they will look after you older ones are the best :)
we have the case version same size ours has the 6.7 and the 18speed pwr shift love that tractor. we use it for baling and pulling the batwing mower and it doesn't know anythings back there it just pulls. great video
I used to drive a mtx 165 the best job with her was mowing the sound and the power she was a honey So how about a mower conditioner? Knocking down some grass.
Used to drive an Mx135 pulled like a train but it might have been a little bit tweaked on the pump. 6000hrs in 3years got replaced with a brand new mxm155 in 03
Them harrows want setting tighter for them to actually put pressure on the tines! Drop the carrying arms down and then wind the top link out so the wear pads touch the harrows, not too much pressure but enough so it stops the gangs jumping around ect. Watch the arms too as they're prone to cracking and so are the pivot pins too. Oh and the tine frames crack easily too
Awesome👍like see her with chaser bin or forage trailer, would operator be tired from day work compared to newer tractor? I know operating our MC 130 McCormick with Perkins 4 cylinder with Xspeed transmission, Trima loader shifting hay bales all is better then my boss NH T6.120.

On the farm where I work, they make approx. 1200 Mth per year. So tractors are overused. But in general you have smaller farms on average in England. I work on a farm with 3100 ha. The McCormick and Landini brand is not very well established in our country due to poorer reliability.

Hi George. I like Mccormick wanted one as my first new Tractor about the age that Tractor but Dad couldn’t get deal we wanted so we went with 2 Renault Ares which offered shuttle/power shift that used play up carburettor which was pain. Would love chance buy one?
We had an old vovlo loader, at the quarry i used to work at. when I say old, it wasn't that old maybe 2002. We'd pre-start it each morning. And go about our day, extracting rock from the quarry floor, crushing and screening! The loader was only there for the truck drivers to use, to load up, from the tailings! The crushing/screening plant was so noisy loud, we never gave the old volvo a second glance unless low on fuel. Turns out the truck drivers were to stupid to turn the old girl off, between trucks. And the over due service warnings stopped working, and the hour meter failed at 10,800 hrs. We jumped into the loader computer, for the actual hours, and she was rung up at 98,487 hrs. 😮😮😮😂😂 we couldn't believe our mechanic had neglected it for that long, because we thought she was being switched off between trucks! The boss was not happy at all! 😂😂😂
Yes Perkins engine, it looks like a Case MX because it basically is one. Back in the early 2000s McCormick was owned by Case, they were built in the Doncaster Uk factory.
Sounds to me like the macca was made before the exhaust emissions thing came in.........that spoilt the performance of many tractors in my opinion around the mid naughty's
Drove a brand new MTX125 in 2002 which was supposed 40k but would do 32/33 mph !. Then had a brand new MTX140 in 2003 again 40k and would only do 40k 25mph ish, they’d restricted em ! 😂😂.
Drive it without anything on back on the field and road.... Got to be worst ride I ve ever had in any tractor ! Powershift packs do go on them , brake fillings in the backend oil dont help things . Saying this still a good heavy capable tractor and lasted the test of time. Case MX were Cummins all though out the range which a lot prefer over the Mc Cormick varient

I have a MC 135 ,14 years old just over 2000 hours ,had done 1100 hours when i lost the tenancy of my farm 13 years ago but still useful to have

They are now built in Italy but this one was built in Doncaster Uk.
I'd definitely like to see it maybe doing some cultivating to get a bit of that sound

dads mtx125 clocked over 10k hours not long ago, they are a great old tractor
