No one cares, you clowns do nothing but put people off wrestling with your constant tribalism, fake reports and arrogance.
took coworker and his lady to an AEW show, they were hooked. then a couple months later we went to WWE Smackdown. we now watch PLE events together since I took them. it was great.
All I ever have to show is undertaker throwing mankind off hell in a cell and that usually does it.
I saw the title of this video, and that was my first thought.
@ludwigvanbubthoven5692 same I showed it to my fiancé' and she got why I respected the guys so much
My wife had never watched 1 minute of wrestling prior to 2 years ago. She has a background in improv comedy so I explained to her about how so much of what you see in wrestling is a form of improv. She gave it a chance and hasn't stopped watching ever since.
That’s easy just show them : Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns from WM40. Me and my friends who haven’t been fans since elementary school or at all went live and now we all watched Backlash live and we’re also watching KOTR together later this month. That match truly defines a generation and it’s perfect to get people back into wrestling while also creating new fans.
One of the greatest matches I've seen, but I will have to disagree. That match is supposed to be the climax of everything. You need a lot of context for it. For us who saw it all throughout it was majestic, but for someone who don't know wrestling, it's just gonna be one match who had a lot of guys in it and the crowd is going ballistic.
@@EmperorPenguinn I understand what you mean but my friends didn’t know anything yet we all marked out lol, they literally didn’t even know Cody was blonde now it’s been that long😂 and the others only knew The Rock, Cena, Roman and Taker so it was pretty easy to digest. Basically what I mean is a non wrestling fan of casual can get into that match bc of the legends and awesome moments.
9:49 future wife told me I could come in like Kenny Omega or CM Punk lol
Black Tiger II vs Wild Pegasus.
Also introduce people around Mania season. My GF’s first two matches were Balor v Edge and then Cody v Roman at Mania 39.
She’s been hooked since!
I'd show them the Owen vs Bret video package and match from WrestleMania 10, plus the main event vs Yokozuna
I'd say either the first TLC match or Bret/Owen from WMX.
One is a spectacle and an absolutely crazy match and the other is something you can very easily explain to a non-wrestling fan. "Two brothers fighting" is a pretty easy storyline to explain.
I got my friend's husband into it by telling him about the goofy wrestling that was Roman vs Brock SummerSlam 22. I then showed him Cody and he was hooked. Through him we got his wife into it. She took it upon herself to binge watch WWE prior to Wrestlemania 39. She is now a Drew McIntyre fan. And their roommate only needed to be shown The Judgement Day in all their glory, and she became hooked (she was previously a fan of The Undertaker because of her dad). These friends have known how much I loved wrestling and now we all watch it together and they get more hyped than I do🥰
I've watched pro wrestling since I was 2 years old before I spoke words. My first word was Yahoo meant to be wrestling. Pro wrestling is my first love of my life and will never stop watching it. I understood wrestling before anything else in my life thanks to Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior and Randy Savage when I first saw it at 2.
I think part of it is knowing what kinds of stories the person likes. Someone that's big on action anime, for instance, will probably click better with a great Japanese-style match that leans heavily on fighting spirit and inner willpower tropes.
I showed my GF some Goldust entrances and a couple clips of Rhea Ripley. She was a theater kid, so she loved the makeup. Then some of the over the top acting got her even more into it. She's not hooked yet, but I'm working on it. 🤞
Classic TNA Matches It Worked On My Niece She'd just stand there watching TNA with me for 50 seconds and she started watching WWE for a few years and all because she saw me watch TNA
This looks like it was so much fun!
My girlfriend LOVED Bad Bunny
When I told her about him wrestling at Backlash 2023 she had zero interest and thought it was funny in a weird way.
It's alot harder than people think.
Completely agree with Andy M. Stadium Stampede 1 was what got my girlfriend into wrestling. Absolutely perfect match for it.
I use the Royal Rumble, my younger sisters been to wrestlemania 35 but they were too young to process where we were and what was happening, but this year’s Royal Rumble I’m chanting the count down, they start to cheer, Im doing all the usual chants throughout the show and they’re starting to get into it, at the end they start chanting for Cody Rhodes as I was livid over CM Punk, once Cody threw Punk over the top my 3 younger sisters wanted to see Cody finish his story
The Bloodline storyline got my mom into wrestling...so now all she does is go for anyone that's in the Bloodline...although Paul Heyman kinda annoys her lol
I'd show them cena vs rvd from ecw one night stand, most people know who cena is, the crowd create a fantastic atmosphere, its a hardcore match but way more of a wwe style hardcore match, has the theatrics at the end.
I'd probably show them the NXT ladder match that crowned the first North American champion. One of my favorite ladder matches ever.
Phil w the best answer, the Rumble is the most casual pro wrestling event
A close second choice would just be showing them Kane chokeslamming Bischoff while JR is yelling “CHOKESLAM HIM STRAIGHT TO HELL!” And just say listen to the announcer and try not to laugh
I showed my fiancee Hell in a Cell Undertaker vs Mankind. I gave her the backstory (what was meant to happen what wasn't the fact Taker went in with a broken foot, Foley got knocked out etc) it sparked her interest and when it came to Wrestlemania she said I want to watch this match and that match don't watch them without me. As a theatre nerd she understood the theatrics and that it is athletic theatre. She's slowly getting there 😅
Do what I do, make them fans via Stockholm Syndrome lol
But seriously, I have a talk about fake vs predetermined and compare it to a play or an Olympic sport like figure skating. I will usually then show Rock vs Hogan, Taker vs Mankind HIAC, and something with Orange Cassidy (probably Him vs Pac). Oh, and MJF/Jericho singing. If theyre goong to give it more of a chance, those are going to be the most lokely ones to do it.
Bringing someone properly primed to a live show after that makes them a fan.
Oh, Fighting with my Family is actually a great runner up as well. My wife, only knowing Paige/Saraya from that movie, saw her premiere in AEW with Zombify as her theme (one of my wife's favorite songs at the time), immediately recognized her, knew mostnof her backstory IRL, and got to feel her first real uncontrolled couch pop. It was beautiful to see happen.
Simon's girlfriend just missed out on Hulkamania? I'm impressed. She never saw Gremlins 2?
I got my boyfriend to watch by simply refusing to let him change the channel when I was watching.
For me, converting nonwrestling fans is easy if they already like things like: superheroes, action films, anime, or soap operas. I just show them Lucha Underground. Some of them poke fun a bit, but after a while it just clicks. And its easier for them to see it as a movie or tv show instead of a sport since the characters are so boisterous and outlandish.
Make her watch Insurrection 2002 and show them Eamon Holmes in the crowd 😂
What wrestling match would show outside of WWE?
If I go to Europe, I hope to run into Simon. Just seems like a cool guy to hang with. And that's coming from a black guy who grew up a Mississippi hood.
I was dating a girl I really liked and I think I was about a year into getting into NJPW. She and I had connected over a love of Japanese food and culture and I had been talking up Japanese Pro wrestling. She agreed to watch one match with me, and for some ridiculous reason I chose to show her the Wrestle Kingdom match where Will Ospreay concussed Kota Ibushi. Once the match was over, she broke up with me over text after she drove home.
Simon should be in the middle, he’s the star anyway
First show them a match with The Rock, John Cena, or Batista cause chances are they'll know those guys for their movies then you show them something with incredible spots like TLC 2 or Taker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell
I'll show them CM Punk vs Rey Mysterio vs Eddie Guerrero 🔥
Take them to a wrestling event ive gotten 2 people into wrestling by taking then to a live wrestling event during lil mini road trips. 60% of the time it works every time
Danhausen
Had a roomate who wasnt into it. He called Shinsuke Nakamura "shit skins knock it forward" and said he always looked drunk lol
lol
Surprised nobody went for mankind undertaker hell in a cell
Show them an RKO outta nowhere compilation... thats it
My now-ex-fianceé watched AEW’s Blood & Guts with me w/ BCC from 2023 (I forget the opposite team). She thought it was way too violent, which frankly is why I ❤️ hardcore sh**. At least I don’t have to worry about her complaining anymore
She broke up with you right after she slipped and fell into the giant bed of thumbtacks you'd left on the kitchen floor. And who could've seen the flaming table coming? Obviously not her...
Tickets were sold out _By the time we considered it something to do._
Ospreay vs Ricochet from WCPW or New Japan. They will enjoy the athleticism, aka the flippy shit
The John Oliver episode on WWE. ""Wrestling is better than the things you like"
Then let them know VM is getting his comeuppance, soon, hopefully.
Shawn Michael's vs Mankind mind games 96
It’s Definitely the Rumble
With my recent girlfriends, I would be watching wrestling, while they're over... They aren't really watching, but when they saw high flyers going crazy, they would watch and say wow, that's different.
Undertaker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell
Without watching the video:
"SHOW THEM TAKER VS MANKING HELL IN CELL AT KING OF THE RING
Show them Bret Hart vs Stone Cold WrestleMania 13
I show people Triple H and Stephanie vs Ronda and Kurt at WM34. With the promo package, people really like it
I hope mic raphone with you
💎
Show them WCW's Chamber of Horrors. If you're not broken up before the end of it, they're a keeper.
_If this is what I'm thinking it is._
I'M A FREAK! For 40 years.
wow Simon kinda died up there for a bit
I got coworkers interested in wrestling by showing them Kidman vs Paul London, of all things. It was pretty hard hitting but not so over the top that it wears the viewer out for their first go.
How to get friends into Scientology? Serious why should I try to convert people? You can try wstching a PLE together, if they like it fine.
*Spicé*
My go to is Stadium Stampede 1. Between the horse, the persona switches, everything, it seems to work.
I saw the vid and clicked without thinking
To me? Show them JBL vs Eddie Guerrero, when JBL cracks Eddie with that chair. The blood alone, how fake is it now?
Aye.
Too all us freaks out there
Okada vs Shibata. Okada vs Omega 1-3. That's where you start. These are true wrestling matches. When they have the potential to bring back Edge and get him back into watching wrestling when he was retired. He watched NJPW. Idk what more needs to said, if you watch these and can't seem to get the message maybe wrestling is just not for you. But that's just me
I surprisingly got my wife to watch wrestling just by casually watching Smackdown with me last year. At first she would be doing her own thing while I watched and eves droped during promos. She knew i was a big LA Knight fan, so she wanted to see what the fus was about. Now she watches Smackdown every Friday with or without me 😂
Make sure to tell women that all the female talent really don't matter and that the male fans will NEVER think their opinions are valid. You forgot that one, though I can't imagine why, you rank carny 😉
Tell them not to watch Simon
Freaks United Nations of championship wrestling unite
if you show them anything from wrestling and they go I don't like this its fake and stupid say back to them so is the movies and TV shows you watch LOL
Secular evangelism
Show them Cody vs Roman, simple. I watched it live with wrestling and non wrestling friends and by the end, they all wanted more and more. It's so easy to like wrestling now, just watch WWE 😉
I want a girlfriend like Simon Miller's that will ask me to tell them about wrestling.
Edit: NVM, I want a gf like Adam W's
I've had friends stop watching WWE cause of Vince's accusations
Sound like a bunch of pretentious social justice warriors who think they're heroes.
I doubt that .... people wouldn't just stop because of that.
@@khesipresents1885 so you doubt people would stop watching WWE cause of sexual assaults and defecations on the head 😂 ok
@@dannyochoa8167 evil executives never stopped most people from enjoying their product..
