Thank you, Eric, love your analysis and your description of the colors of the sound. I liked the contrast between the video for Aeterna (colorful, bombastic, epic) and this one (very subdued).

I really liked this song literally from the first 30 seconds. Much more than her first single “aeterna”. You're right, this solo is Arjen's signature 😁 we all know Simone is a good singer. But I would like to specifically note the emotionality of this song, especially in its final part. It sounds almost hysterical, as if desperate, and it sounds very powerful! 😬 I don’t understand those people who accuse Simone of emotionless singing.

EPICA soooooo many kick ass songs Gothic METAL HEAVY METAL 🤘 piano orchestra and Opera sounds they really put all this into sounds I’ve never heard before Wow and last year they opened up for Metallica !!!
Wonder if they are able to stay on this level like the 2 first songs. Going to be my most beloved album in that case 😄.

Hi Eric, as always I thoroughly enjoy your analysis. Your break down is professional, you know what you are talking about. Absolutely to the point. I am really glad I live in these times. Phenomena like Arjen Lucassen, Simone, Floor, Tuomas, Steven Wilson. They make life beautifull and worthwhile. You can go to a doctor when feeling bad but listening to these geniussus works much better. I am convinced of that. In this video everything comes together. Fantastic musicianship, theatric performance ( she pears straight into your heart), the lyrics makes Shakespeare blush, the guitar solo is from heavens. The composition out of this world, and her voice....no words for it. And as you say: everything blends together into such harmony. It is magic..... For sure I'm going to buy this album.
