- I love my HK Skipper. But I've always wanted a smaller version. It's just too fast for my cove. So I saw this little thing on Banggood.
It's a pretty faithful homage to the original Polaris design, but with very unusual controls. Thus, it is just a toy model.
While the potential is there to turn it into a more traditional r/c model, I have to give it credit for doing very well as designed. I'm surprised and impressed.
Based on battery remaining, I'd say easily good for 5-8 minutes of mixed flight.
You probably didn't know, but the top right button if you press it, it will turn the lights off and on, if you hold it down the props will run in reverse so you can back up on the water.
Thanks.
It flies! 👍🏻🙂
Like a rocket.
@@RARenfield I guess!
Fixed mine... exorcised the "weird" part... Now gotta try on water...
Can this handle 3s?
I haven't tried. But it is plenty zippy on the 2S.
Lmao... They were going for "Raptor", weren't they?
Something may have been lost in translation. 😂
What company manufactures these
Xia Xiu. It is literally in the title.
Nice video. RedwingRC has this plane in stock!
Can it go on sea/salt water without getting damaged thanks.
Not something I have tried. We're on a fresh water lake. The receiver board is sealed, but the servos are not.
Yes. The manual says wash it with fresh water immediately after you remove it from the salt water
😂😂😂😂😂brilliant bud 😂😂😂😂😂😂i was exactly the same man what a funky lil thing. I bottled it going on water i thought it would flip 😂😂😂. Your laugh had me cracking up man. Whack it in 3d mode and then the fun really begins 😂😂😂😂 new supporter here my feiend 👌🏼
Those things are tough as nails, awesome little bugga 👍
That's so awesome! The advertisements I saw for it was on Instagram and a little China Man was jumping up and down on it! I often hoped that I would know someone who got this thing! Get rocks! Honking its nose was awesome!😅
Hahaha! I haven't seen a reservoir tip condom in ages. LOL. I ran another full pack through it. This time I gave it some trim. OMG! Yes, stupid fun little bird. Nanny mode is always ON, so only the built-in stunts will work. Rolls and inverted are a click away. Lighting should be interesting in the evening. How about that high alpha SPLAT landing? Big grins.
@@RARenfield The landing was awesome! The bottom line is is everything they showed on their little demo was exactly right! The thing is awesome!
He’s laughing with excitement. I hope I feel like that when I fly mines.
Great video, really informative! 👌 A few quick questions though:
- are there any lights or any other signal that indicates when the battery is running low power and about to die? Asking since one of my other RC plane models didn't and almost lost it during flight.
- since this plane is in the water often, is there any rust that occurs around the metal components? Or are the parts rust-proof?
Thanks for the answers, and keep up the good work~✈️
Hello, and thanks! Fun little plane. The lights will blink when the battery is spent. And it's lit up like a Christmas tree.
Fresh water is fine. Salt water will kill it.
All the best!
@@RARenfield thank you~
Interesting to see that this Mini version of the Polaris/Skipper does fly well. Even made it through the entirety of this video - after killing the psychotic audio. But I guess we'll have to wait for the usual suspects to get any sensible insight into the true specs, controls, flight board etc. At least a brief flash at about 5.11 did clear up 1 point of contention from the disinformation on the Banggood sales site. It does use a 2-cell lipo not a 1-cell 1000mah.
Hahaha. In the immortal words of the Joker, why so serious? Yea I had a few wobbly pops prior to flight. What follows is usually blather, piffle and poppy cock. That's the beauty of a volume key, right? Play some Benny Hill music instead.
What am I? Consumer Friggin' Reports? I don't get free models to review. I'm not a sales rep for BG, nor do I monetize videos for their products. Just an old R/C guy. And I am certainly not in the habit of overthinking a child's toy.
Questions on BG about the battery have already been posted and answered correctly multiple times. No mystery at all. It is a 2S 1K lipo. Much the same as what I use in my Blade 200QX. Why is this a concern? Did you expect it to come with a battery that doesn't work?
All of the instructions for it are in the form of online videos done in Chinese. Good luck there.
Flight controls are limited to what you saw. Bank angle limits all around. No loops, rolls, or anything other than what is programmed into the stunt button. Just like an Eflite in SAFE mode. I prefer to do my own stunts. So it's a cove cruiser.
Transmitter is a little plastic toy! Throws are practically ON/OFF. Did you expect a programmable Futaba clone? Spektrum? EdgeTX?!? LOL.
Servos. There are three. Very small. In all likelihood they are NOT digital proportional metal gear HD.
Motor is a brushless 3000kv. Prop is a 4 3/4" diameter three blade folding job that is quite fragile. I've gone through one. Replacements will be tough to source. I'll probably have to cut down a 5" drone prop.
The nose cone is a balloon, and Raptor is misspelled on the stickers. And it's a laugh riot.
Thanks for watching, pal.
@@RARenfield Thanks for the in-depth information mate. Oh, and there are only 2 servos on this not 3. The ailerons are run by 1 servo which is also linked to the rudder for coordinated turns. The other runs the elevator.
@@theoztreecrasher2647 Did you get one? Yes sorry about that, only 2. I've replaced one already. Tiny little buggers. I had to change the connector.
Now that I know how to turn off the nanny, I'm going to try some manual flight.
Cheers.
@@RARenfield Well I guess you told him my friend. I don't complain I just enjoy your videos in fact l am going to order one of those rascals.
@@charlie1571 Oh, Oz isn't such a bad chap. His criticism felt a bit harsh. I'm just trying to have fun.
Cheers my friend, and I do hope you enjoy your new model!
May I know what's the flying weight? I'm hoping that it'll be under 250g and do away with registration in my country. Thanks!
The factory must have had that in mind. It weighs in at 244.3g with the battery. You're good to go.
@@RARenfield that's excellent news! Going to get 1 soon! Thanks
@@floser75 Order some spare props. They're an odd size and fragile as it turns out. All the best!
@@RARenfield just 1 more question. Any chance that this will fly with a standalone receiver? I'm hoping to bind it with my radiomaster but apparently the stock receiver with build-in gyro won't work (according to the seller).
@@floser75 I'm no expert. Seller probably is right. I saw no port on the board for a satellite receiver. At some point, I may install an Orange Rx and an ESC.
