Sometimes when i sit alone late at night (usually blazin) i put this song on sometimes and it cant help but think about life and love, acomplishments and mistakes makes me feel like all us are soldiers in the war of life.
Definitely one of my favourite tracks from this year. Reminds me of my past a lot which is sad, but I enjoy the nostalgia that it gives off. Such a weird combination of emotions man..
Before the real explanation of the video was told to me I thought this video represented: A former soldier coming back from deployment overseas where he fought and killed many people. He was disillusioned and hated the people in that country / is a little racist against them. Now that he's back in the states he sees a woman that used to look like the people he used to see in the villages when he was overseas. It then occurs to him that his deployment was for the wrong reasons seeing as he terrorized her country and in the end those same people he used to attack and "liberate" became refugees and came to HIS country. The same way he invaded theirs, they came to his. He begins to sympathize and simulaneously see the beauty in their culture and in this fine woman. A true soldier breaks boundaries others are unwilling to cross. Not only battlefield boundaries. SESH.
