I have the Epix Gen 2 and love it for a variety of reasons. Golf is now on another level. Question: Is there a difference in shot accuracy/flag accuracy on the golf course between the Marq 2 and Epix Gen 2? Thanks for another great video!
The Approach line records swing tempo as you play a round. Pressing measure shot also shows swing tempo. I think this feature is missing on MARQ Golfer
my beef with Garmin is longevity. Could be me. I'm a military officer and hard on watches, but I've had 3 Garmins from their original running watch to a top of the line Fenix when those came out about 6-7 years ago. Not one lasted more than 2 years. Went back to Suunto.
I've got the Garmin s60. I don't know if there are enough new features on here to warrant an upgrade. I would have loved to have seen some of the AI that you mentioned. My only beef with these watches is that when zooming in on the course it takes you from the entire hole straight to your landing area. I wish there was a better way to show parts of the hole with distances to hazards without it being so tiny.
this is exactly why I won't get a golf specific watch, until they figure out how to provide this type of view and give you the satellite imaging....once they do that, it's next level and would be worth my having a watch just for golfing.
I had bote h watches, Marq and Marq 2 for 4 weeks. Frankly speaking, nope they are both not worth it. Got myself the approachs62 and now I am very happy. I got the Marq first , for 1800 euros then I got the Marq2. I really don't know why this watch should cost 2400 euros nor the normal Marq for 1800 euros. The Marq doesn't even have a touch screen. I had spoken to Garmin but naturally they asked me to compare the differences between the 2 watches, differences, hardly found any. OK for people who run, hike, surf and and and, ask myself who does it all. I play golf, tennis, dive and swim, but frankly speaking nope wasn't worth it. I tried it with tennis, but maybe I am stupid, I had to buy an extra app for scoring etc. The most annoying thing was inspite of paying all that money Garmin went and took another 100 Euros from me for their app, madness. I got the money back. By the way I did get all my money back. To come to an end, these watches are overpriced and have nothing to do with a premium watch. If you have the money to spend then buy the watch, if you want something really good use the s 62. Originally I was planning on getting the Tag Heuer, but I was told not worth it.
Your golf videos, are very informative, but when I looked up the price of $2,100, egads. Spring of 2023, I'm going with the Bushnell Ion Elite. I prefer the golf specific info myself but for the person that needs other info this looks like a great offering.
So cool watch! But i got one question. Just in terms of functionality, especially for golf, does it differ from epix gen 2? It does not seem except the outside part
The Approach line records swing tempo as you play a round. Pressing measure shot also shows swing tempo. I think this feature is missing on MARQ Golfer / EPIX / FENIX
I want this so bad but for the price you can get an approach r10 launch monitor, an approach g80 handheld gps and an approach s62 (not that you'd even need them all) and still be about £700 better off...
Hello, thanks for the review. Is there a size difference between Epix 2 and Marq Golfer ? Both look pretty big, but I was wondering if Marq was even bigger than epix. Many thanks
I'd love to see your opinions on the Apple Watch Ultra as a golf watch. I use mine every day with Hole 19 or the TaylorMade app and only lose about 25% after 18 holes, which was similar to my Vivoactive 4.
I too have an Apple Watch Ultra that I use with the Arccos system. Haven’t used it much yet, but so far, so good. Battery life is sooooo much better than my old Apple Watch 6…I charge every 3rd day now!
My only complaint so far with the Ultra for golf is the bulkiness of it. I use the 18 birdies app and it works great. Tried switching to my right wrist since I have a glove on my left hand, but it just feels odd that way. Only other thing is I feel like I’m spending too much time looking at my watch.
Debating between this, the Epix Gen 2, and the s62. My reservations about the marq 2 is the price. If I want to be flashy, I have a few Tags I can wear. My reservations about the Epix is that it seems there were some golf features not available on release, virtual caddie, wind direction, etc. My reservation about the s62 is that it basically 3 year old tech at this point. Have firmware updates made everything available on the epix at this point? Is there anything from a pure golf standpoint that the epix cant do? That is where I am leaning.
I think Epix 2 is the sweet spot personally. Does everything the S62 does with a way better screen and more fitness features. Especially if you have nicer watches, it makes sense.
Approach models such as S70 records swing tempo as you play a round. Pressing measure shot also shows swing tempo. I think this feature is missing on MARQ Golfer / EPIX / FENIX
The golf rich features may be more abundant with this watch, but the Fenix line of watches should be similar to this in terms of GPS accuracy. You can pick up a Fenix 6 now for under $500 (in Canada....probably much lower in the US). The Fenix 7 is $770 in Canada - so probably around $500 +/- in the US on Black Friday deal. The fit and finish isn't quite as premium as this watch (although still very good) and like I said - it may not have quite the same level of detail for golf....but it will give you accurate yardages, it will keep score, it will track your club yardages....and much more.
I don’t know about you guys but I can’t play with a big watch on my wrist? It’s annoying as (fill in the blank). I like my Garmin S10 just fine. Had Edwin Watts $25 coupon and traded in an old putter walked out for $87. It’s a thin great gamer, simple and checks off all the boxes. I think at times us golfers over think the game a bit? I’m happy to have a birdie putt pretty much any where on the green. Just curious, does the bigger golf watches bother any one else?
Very nice review. I have the S62 and it has exactly the same golf functionalities. This watch looks more expensive (and it is), but for using it on the course I don't see a difference. I'm still waiting for Garmin to implement software that lets me track how long my putts are and how far from the flag I am when I have hit the greens with different wedges, irons etc. The technology is there on current watches, but I suppose they'll add it to sell the eventual S64
@@darunia484 The main difference is a bigger screen, full color courses and the virtual caddy. I don't use the caddy much because I know my distances. but it might be something you want. I currently have an S60 and a Venu 2+ that i wear interchangeably on the golf course and the GPS for the latter is wildly off sometimes from the more-accurate S60.
